Since moving to warwick and having 4 children attend warwick public school warwick vets middle school is the absolute worst environment for students. Fighting and drug use is throughout the school. The principle and vice principal have no control of the school, their teachers (which have no problem putting their hands on students) or , the students. Would not recommend sending any child to this middle school.

Warwick Vets Middle School is okay. As an 8th grade student graduating this year, it's not a great school, but it's not horrible. The building itself is very nice and has a lot of space, however the halls get crowded when there's over 1,300 kids. While the physical environment is nice, the learning environment can be stressful or boring. I have anxiety and some teachers, who I won't name, are either very loud and rude, or passive-aggressive. One of the teachers that I have currently will single out students in front of the class for something that they don't mean to do, but when a student is actually being rude, suddenly this teacher isn't aware of their surroundings. Most teachers don't keep you engaged in learning and mainly do writing assignments, even in science class. As for safety, they do a good job at keeping their record clean not getting featured on the news again for fights. It seems like they care less about students and more about keeping a clean slate. If you're getting beaten up, defending yourself isn't an option unless you'd like in school suspension, out of school suspension, a court hearing that happens inside of the school, and community service. Their reasoning is because you're "part of the problem". The social-emotional support is alright, they try to make sure the students are alright, but if you're stressed out because of the amount of homework teachers are throwing out at you and expecting you to finish the next day, their advice is basically just to keep on going as if that's going to help. Family engagement was a very hard decision. Teachers send out emails typically to tell parents that their child isn't doing their assignments, but beyond that, they don't do much to include parents in their child's learning experience. Overall, I would say this school is okay at best. They really need to try harder because some of the things that I've experienced in this school aren't okay. I wish I went to Winman instead.
