After the seeing the difference in my children once we left this school, I realized just how toxic the culture of this school was on our entire family.

The teachers were not passionate and they did not make school fun. You could hear them screaming in their classrooms when you entered the lobby. My kids were anxiety ridden and fearful everyday. Perhaps if the teachers were paid better, they wouldn't have to work in bars in the evening and come to school the next morning angry and hung over! I am not sure where all the tuition money goes but it certainly doesnt go to the teachers or toward the upkeep of facilities that are lackluster and dated. The tuition obviously doesn't go into the athletics department either since the sports program is laughable! Island rec offered better programming!

The moms at the school were horrendous gossips and obviously didn't have full time careers that diverted their attention in more positive directions (unless helicoptering parenting is now considered a day job). The children obviously learned their entitelment issues from their mothers. The children had no manners, were rude and were vicious to other children.

After we left, my children love school again and have normal, healthy friendships. I have met other normal, hard working parents that believe manners are still important and don't allow their children to be ill behaved. I now meet teachers who make my children's eyes light up. It was a horrendous culture, a horrendous education and a total waste of money. I have seen enrollment drop and it will continue to now that there are other options for middle school and high school in the area. Not what I had hoped a private school experience would be but I am glad we escaped before it was too late.

This school ruined my life. Moved there in 3rd grade and didn't last until 5th because of bullying. The teachers/staff did nothing about it even when I asked them for help. Who knows how much happier and more successful I could have been if I hadn't been emotionally scarred by Hilton Head Prep. And especially don't put your kid here if you're not as wealthy as the other children's families.

Prep has been a great educational choice for our two children. As a small school is still is able to offer a lot of choices for all types of students. And if they do not have a course or an activity that a student is interested in they will try to find an alternative. The major majority of faculty and staff will get to know your student and be a part of their academic journey throughout their years at Prep. The arts and music departments continue to improve and all students are able to participate in athletics. Prep is certainly a choice a prospective family should explore.

The School challenges students to excel in every matter. My son is in Kindergarten and He is already reading at the First Grade Level. I am very happy with the quality of education teachers provide and the sense of family towards the child.

Hilton Head Preparatory is the best possible fit for my daughter and I believe this would be true for most students. What I think is the most important is the sense of family or inclusion. It is a relatively small school and that is the strength of the experience. My daughter has attended an excellent highly rated school prior to Prep, but since we moved here, she has easily embraced the new experience. She "loves it" her words and although she misses her former school, she has settled right into Prep seemlessly.

I recently moved with my three children to Hilton Head and wouldn't have made the move without a quality school like Hilton Head Prep available for my children's education. During this first year at the school I was continually impressed by the faculty, the administration, the other families and the community feel of the environment. Teachers know and love my children and I feel 100% confident that they are getting the best possible education. The curriculum is challenging and the faculty work hard with each individual child challenging them to do their best.
