I am a former teacher at this school for preK. Based on my experience, I would never recommend a young child to go here. The teachers I worked with did NOT pay attention to the children, often spending hours on their phones or planning vacations. They gossiped about the parents, about other teachers... our classroom didnt have air in it for months and children were waking up from naps with heat rashes. One of the teachers I worked with would complain right when she got to the school, telling the young children they needed to go home and that they were annoying. She also tried scaring a 2 year old by pretending to throw bugs on her until she cried if she was misbehaving. I would see kids beating eachother up in other playgrounds and the teachers on their phones or gossiping with eachother. Just not a nice place to work. They use religion as a ploy to make it seem so great but I was embarrassed to say I worked there.

Hard to believe this is a christian-based school. They cherry pick their student body. Don't let them fool you, admission is not based on academics and financial assistance is not based on financial need. One of the best teachers they had left and went to hhi public elementary... There's a reason for that! Shame on them for using religion to promote themselves. Also, when my children switched to public, they all needed tutoring but cross said they were doing great! They must have their own grading scale as well to make themselves "appear" to excel.

I have been a staff member at Cross Schools for almost a decade now, and I can honestly say that my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. The teachers and administration genuinely care about each student and family, and they work hard to create an atmosphere of love and respect. I believe that the students know that they are valued and respond to the love and concern that is consistently offered to them. Most importantly, I see both students and staff being challenged to live all aspects of their life in a godly way, giving glory to God and doing their best to use their gifts and talents to serve Him. Cross has grown so much in the time that I have been here, and I know that many plans are in the works for tremendous growth in the future. I am excited to see the new ways this school will impact our wonderful community in the years to come!

I barely learned anything at cross schools. Most teachers barely taught and when they did, it was either a worksheet or textbook problems. We had tablets, but hardly every used them. I mostly used it to surf the internet during study hall which was just a social period. If you are only interested in socializing with friends then Cross is perfect for you, but if you truly care about your education and want to learn, don't go to this school.

My children have been students at Cross Schools for over 10 years. We started in the 2 yr old Preschool and now I have 2 middle school children. We are very thankful for the school. Its academics are challenging and truly push our children to learn and excel. It is a very nurturing environment that encourages real relationships and a true sense of family. The Clubs and Sports allow kids the chance to try new activities and learn new talents. Each student is challenged and encouraged to grow and become who God created them to be.

Integrity and Respect were the annual themes for the past two years. School activities and teachings center on the theme.

I have had two children graduate from Cross Schools after attending 8 years. The academics at Cross are second to none in Beaufort County. All the teachers are caring and kind. They get to know the students and help them succeed. The leadership skills my children developed helped them transition seamlessly into the public high school (Cross does not have a high school) where they both have very high academic averages. Both have held leadership positions in clubs and one walked on as a varsity athlete. Cross helped prepare my children for their future.

The school uses the "Be the One" anti-bullying program. Teachers integrate these lessons into the classroom each month.

The leadership team at Cross cares about all students. Each morning a member from the leadership team meets the students at the door with a firm handshake and warm smile. They model respect and integrity with all they do.

The school has a character trait of the month and lessons are developed and taught around that trait.

Homework was given and was appropriate in length to prepare the students for high school level classes.

Cross Schools is the best in Bluffton. My children have been attending school there since age 2. The preschool is hands down the best and the elementary school can't be beat. The small class sizes are an amazing benefit. My children have had many classes that have one teacher, an assistant AND less than 20 children in the class. The more advanced students can be challenged and those that need extra help can get it. The teachers know all the students, not just the ones in their own classes. It is a wonderful family atmosphere! All the students are well behaved and respect the teachers and administrators. I've never walked down the halls in the 6 years my kids have been there and seen any students acting up. Unlike public schools they are allowed to teach Christian values at school which I think helps eliminate behavioral issues like bullying. When I pick up the kids early when we are traveling or for a doctors appointment they actually complain because they don't want to leave early! It couldn't be any better!

The administration has an open door policy and they absolutely mean it. Any matter can be brought to the attention of the headmistress.

My review on Cross is based on my experience with 4 other schools and 3 school districts. As a parent transferring in from another part of the country 2 years ago, it was very stressful trying to learn about the schools in the Savannah area. We found Cross Schools after a horrible experience with a public elementary in Guyton GA. We actually moved to Bluffton from Georgia so our kids could go to Cross. The public schools in this area are good about keeping class sizes small but the schools themselves average 800-1000 students and neither my kids or I liked that. Coming from a very high performing school district that expected kids to be able to read before kindergarten and having children that love to learn, I have been very happy with the academics at Cross. I am familiar with many different curriculums and feel my kids are being challenged. For example, before each new math chapter the kids take a pre-test to see how much they already know of the subject. They are willing to look at new curriculums and change. In the time we have been here (1.5 years) they have added more clubs and sports. They also are adding in support for kids that may need some academic help. I also love that they give the kids tons of opportunities to speak, make presentations and perform in front of their class and the entire school. Being comfortable with public speaking is an important skill that is best taught early and my kids are much better at it than I was at their age being in such a supportive environment. I watched my youngest (now in 2nd grade) go from refusing to do anything on stage at the beginning of first grade to singing his heart out at the end of school performance.

Cross Schools Parent Advisory Committee held a parent night to help the parents with the topic of integrity! As Christians we are called to live public lives of integrity. However, we find ourselves in a
culture that is becoming increasingly hostile to all matters of faith. How do we live a life of Public Faith that impacts our community and honors God? How do we teach our children that? This message was shared with our parents. The students participate in character education working on integrity and many other character traits.

We have had a wonderful experience at Cross Schools for both of our children. Our son began at Cross as a two year old and is now in the second grade our daughter began as an 18 month old and is now in Pre-k. Both the Preschool and the Lower/Middle School prepare spiritually and academically for whatever life will through at them. The teachers are caring and the classes are smaller giving students more attention. Teachers have an assistant to help in the classroom as well! There are many sports and clubs to be a part of for students and many ways for parents to volunteer and participate in their child's schooling like family chapel and Flag Pole Friday. Cross Schools feels like an extended family we look forward to many more years at Cross for our children.

Wonderful, loving atmosphere. I love that my child is learning about the Bible in addition to academics. The small class size allows all students the attention they deserve.

We love Cross Schools! Choosing the best school for your children is one of the most important decisions parents will ever make. We are thrilled with our choice! The teachers and staff are wonderful, and our children have grown spiritually and academically. We highly recommend it!

My family's experience with Cross schools, was both good and bad. The students seem to be well behaved and overall good kids. However, some of the teachers come off as insensitive at times, especially in the lower grades. Also, this school is not very accommodating for students who struggle academically. Ultimately, we decided to go with another school that offered more individual support.

My pre-k students (twins) love going to this school. This is a great environment to kickstart my children's passion for learning. They will be prepared for kindergarten and seem to know how to function properly in a school setting. Let's hope this continues into their teen years!

This school is fantastic. My daughter has attended since she was 18 months old and we could not be more pleased. The staff is caring and they are have a great ratio of students to teachers. We love that the preschool program has actual academic value and is not just a babysitting service. We are so glad we found Cross.

We loved Cross Schools. After having a nasty experience at a smaller private school close by, Cross took our child in and his advancements were great. We had to move and his is admired at his new school, all thanks to what he learned with Cross Schools.
