My daughter is a 2020 graduate, and entered college very well prepared despite the Covid lockdown. Excellent teachers, lots of class options, great arts and athletics, and a lot of AP opportunities. We were very pleased with her experience.

My freshman year here was perfectly fine. Teachers were more willing to help students and seemed to care significantly about how well their students succeeded. Administration was understanding, nice, and helpful to the students. My sophomore year we got a new principal (Mr. Johns)and since then, every year, more and more new rules have been enforced and all administration cares about is our school ranking. I believe that most students would agree that as the years have gone by, this school has gone more downhill. Teachers, administration, and guidance seem to care less about the actual students and seem to care more about how everyone else views the school. Many teachers, faculty (especially in the main office), and admin seem to not enjoy their jobs and can come off as very rude. Our principal Mr. Johns was previously a middle school principal at Banks Trail Middle and he continues to treat the students as if this were also a middle school. For example, he has enforced many new rules such as not being allowed to eat outside, not being allowed to stand/walk around the commons during lunch, and if our phone is even visible(even if we are not using it) they can take it . Over all my high school experience here i feel has been ruined by the administration and faculty.

I have a rising senior at this school and all of her teachers have been helpful and responsive when there were questions. They are proactive and complimentary as well, not reaching out only when there are issues but very generous with praise as well

We are highly satisfied with our experience at Nation Ford. Our daughter is a rising senior and has created lasting friendships and wonderful memories at NAFO. From AP classes to student council and sporting events the time here has been everything we could hope for.

My family moved to this district per recommendations. I have found the teachers to be very supportive, helpful and genuinely caring. My daughter has an IEP and teachers have been great in helping her, offer more than enough times for her to come see them, communicate with me via email and more. The admin, however, seems only concerned about themselves. I’m not a fan. They really need to pay attention and listen to sudents and parents about those teachers and guidance staff who don’t step up. Why’re not listening and it’s hurting the students. Overall, however, I’ve been very pleased.

NAFO is a top school in SC, and Fort Mill is a great town. NAFO is well behind schools in the northeast in terms of class selection, technology, teacher knowledge, SAT/ACT scores, and other areas. Its a healthy and caring environment, but not a great education, despite the ranking in the state.

Nation Ford and the Fort Mill District may be good for some students, but if you have a student that struggles in any way this is not the school for your child. The teachers and administrators claim they care about students, but most only care about a paycheck. If your child needs additional help they will be told to "go to FLEX". FLEX is a 30 min period twice a week when students can go to teachers to get additional assistance. The problem is, all students are required to use this so the classes are so crowded that there is very little help from the teachers.

If you are thinking about transferring your child to this "top rated" school, please think twice about it! A few great teachers, but many that just DON'T teach or care about the students (i.e. English department, to include the department head). Administrators cover up a lot just to make the school look good. The homes are way overpriced in Fort Mill and not worth it, if you are buying for the schools. The ratings will go down soon and so will the property values...look out market crash. Please look elsewhere!!!

As a junior attending Nation Ford High School, I have watched the school completely fall apart and become nothing but a place where the faculty and adminstration cares nothing about the students, but instead about the "ranking" of the school in the state. My freshman year was wonderful, administration was great, and it was a fun and safe environment and I enjoyed going to school everyday. Over the past 2 years, it has become nothing but a nightmare. Administration does not take care of any issues in an appropriate matter. I feel as if my opinion does not matter to anyone. This year, I was physically assaulted by a girl, and after having multiple witnesses claim I did absolutely nothing, and I was slammed in the face multiple times for no apparent reason, administration continued to make like it was not a big deal, and gave me an excuse that the girl has "anger issues." Absolutely unacceptable. My parents requested they at least hear something about the outcome, (rightfully so,) and administration was so rude to not even call them back. Never heard anything again. The girl was given 2 days of ISS and off the hook. I have dealt with multiple specific incidents with admin and nothing has been done. I feel unsafe coming here everyday. I feel as though I do not matter and am just apart of a statistic to keep making the school "the best school in the state of South Carolina." Only a select amount of teachers I have had have actually taught well, and made sure every student had understandng. If you are doing poorly in a class, you are made to feel guilty and will recieve punishment from Jason Johns, the principle, because you are not keeping his school ranking up and getting extra help. Within the past week, there have been 5 fights between students. The counselors have no idea what they are doing in terms of my schedule. I have recieved no assistance in helping to plan out my future. The only issues admin worries about is dress code and parking passes. The priorities really need to be set straight. Majority of students I have spoken to are appalled at this mess of a school, all of which are hard-working students, as I am myself. This is not the Fort Mill School District top notch school I saw when I came in freshman year anymore.

I have Twins attending this school. One of the twins needs extra help, and have not found a teacher yet hat has not went above to try to help him. The ROTC program run by Sargent Major Logan and Colonel are top notch. My boys are involved in ROTC and the football program. Great school!!!! Go NAFO.

We moved here thinking this school was basically the promised land. What it turned out to be was a nightmare, where students' suicides are largely ignored, bad teachers are protected whether they do their job or not and administration takes a "head in the sand" approach to all the mounting problems affecting this school. This place has been such a disappointment; if it weren't for the devoted teachers who fortunately far outnumber the teaching clunkers we'd have probably moved out of this area by now. But for the money you pay to be in this district, you honestly expect better. You won't get it. There are some outstanding educators at this school. But for the past year there have been some problems growing and with no sign of easing and no sign of positive forward movement from the administration. Some major changes need to take place at Nation Ford in order to get it back on top once again.

This school offers Honors and Advanced Placement courses, so the workload can get pretty high. But it does prepare the students for their futures in college.

My two sons have attended Nation Ford High School and we have had an overall excellent experience, My older son graduated in 2014 and is now attending Purdue University for Aerospace Engineering. He was able to take AP classes and was in the top 3% of his class. My younger son is also doing well and likes the school very much. Tarah Bouleware, the guidance counselor is also excellent and made the college process so smooth for us. The guidance department meets with all students/parents each year to be sure their schedule meets their needs. I feel my children are getting a very good education. My sons also play football and that has also been an overall good experience for them. Fort Mill, SC is a lovely place to live and I would highly recommend it as well as Nation Ford High School.

Our daughter graduated from Nation Ford High and got accepted to medical programs at multiple top teir schools. She also earned over 19 credits of college credits through AP Classes. I highly recommend this school anyone considering Fort Mill area.

My kids went here for a number of years. We moved from a small town to this district based on it's rave reviews. It seems over the years, the drug issues in this school are increasing. I moved my children out of this district to a smaller district even though the academics don't compare. We are much happier and my kids are getting an education based on academics and have less of the big city influences to deal with. On the plus side, the Principal is amazing, the athletic programs are very successful and the classes offered are exceptional! If NAFO was half it's size and we could just pick it up and move it to a smaller town further away from the city, it would be perfect! We just weren't cut out for this size school district and all that comes with it. If you are used to a big school and city influences, you will likely be thrilled with NAFO.

My son was part of mandatory move from Fort Mill High to Nations Ford very first year when school was build back in 2008. He was doing great in Fort Mill High, but once moved to Nations Ford (11th grade) felt very unhappy and depressed because all his friends were left in Fort Mill High. He became very discouraged and started skipping school. I met with his new teachers and with principal Beverly Bowman few times to ask for help and support in this situation. I was warning them that he is on the verge of dropping out and was asking for help. I did not get any sympathy, understanding or help in this situation from any of the school staff. My son ended up dropping out. This school and specifically principal Beverly Bowman did not want to be bothered with specific child s problems. Our personal tragedy did not mean anything to them. I rate this school very low because if your child ever need special attention or help, this is not the place where he can get it.

Compared to schools in the Charlotte district, there is no other real choice. Fort Mill schools are far superior even compared to most private schools in the Charlotte area. And don't wander down to Rock Hill you will be completely disappointed. And Nation Ford being new and fresh is a great example of teachers that care and students that are multi-cultural in an environment where they tend to excel.

NaFo is an amazing school!! The students are so diverse, but yet get along. It's a wonderful social atmosphere. This school is also serious about its academics and does a great job in educating its students and preparing them for going into college. Inside, it is light and welcoming. The French program is completely incredible! The teacher really knows how to get her students fluent in the language in a fun way. The band program is also spectacular. It is serious about music, but also builds character. I highly HIGHLY recommend this school to you.

Fort Mill is a great school. The facilities are all new. Every classroom has a smartboard and projector. Compare this to Charlotte where your kids are likely to be taught in a trailer due to overcrowding. The teachers have been dedicated. Like any school we like some better than others. The marching band is ranked nationally. They are strict but I believe it keeps the school safe and orderly, We moved from a top district in upstate New York and we could be happier with Nations Ford, Springfield Elementary and Middle. Many nice families who support thier kids in academics and after school activities.

Not a great school. Front office staff is very unfriendly, rarely see the principal. Horror stories about drugs,sex and etc going on at the school. Currently looking for a charter school for our son.
