My experience with Polaris Tech Charter School has been deeply concerning in several areas, particularly regarding staff training, classroom management, and communication with families. On multiple occasions, it has been clear that students were placed with untrained and inexperienced staff. Parents were repeatedly asked to “show grace” for what essentially amounted to a lack of classroom management, leaving students without proper supervision or support.

Safety is another major concern. There are situations where hazards or disruptions are not addressed proactively, putting students at risk and creating an environment where staff appear reactive rather than preventive. Additionally, communication from teachers and administration is almost non-existent until problems escalate. Parents are often blindsided by decisions that should have been discussed beforehand, and students are subjected to inconsistent enforcement of rules.

Perhaps most concerning is the culture surrounding staff behavior. Several teachers have demonstrated hostility toward parents who advocate for their children, and students are sometimes treated in ways that feel punitive or bullying rather than supportive. This creates an atmosphere of fear rather than trust, which undermines both learning and parent-school partnership.

Polaris Tech has potential, but without immediate improvements in staff training, classroom management, proactive communication, and fostering a respectful, safe culture, the school is failing to meet the basic needs of its students and families.

Polaris Tech has been an absolute nightmare for my children and for me to deal with. The previous Director for the last several years is condescending when speaking to parents, and intimidates children. They can not keep a school counselor to save their lives. I had to remove both of my children from Polaris Tech due to frequent staff changes and inappropriate conduct with my children.
