I read the last review and I honestly think they must have accidentally put in the wrong school. MCES is ***** (highest rated school you can have). The test scores are way above the state and blow most schools around here out of the water. I have 3 children in school here. All three are very active in school activities. I'm not originally from this area so I am glad that the school is so inclusive to everyone. We have become a TRIBE. I'm so proud that my children have caring and educated teachers help them navigate in this crazy world. They are truly like extended family. I wish everyone had a chance for their children to attend a school with this type of environment!

I would never allow my kids to return to this school. All the teachers do in this school is teach off dittos and computers for lower level grades. Then when you ask questions about the work or the worksheets (ditto) the teacher doesn't have a clue. Was told multiple times I would have to go back and look as I didn't make it. If you don't know what you are teaching then why are you there besides to collect a paycheck? The new principle won't do anything about it as it is more of a friends club rather than a boss and making sure students learn. This is why TN has below avg reading in the state for lower elementary. We pulled our kids after one year of this horrible school

This school does not know how to deal with students who have learning disabilities, such as ADHD. They constantly pressure the parents into medication for their child, even when the parents have made it clear they do not want to go that route. As a parent, I have the right to refuse "medication" for my child. If you can even call it that. I don't want my child growing up thinking "if I take this pill it makes me feel really good...." This school does not provide teachers who can teach students with this disability and they insist on failing them. This school has FAILED my child. Funny how they say my child has "given up" but they are the ones giving up on him. Oh! And not to mention they claim that there is no such thing as "Special Education" !!!!! Seriously frustrating as a parent I just want my child to get the education he deserves and not be put with all the other "normal" kids who make straight A's and never need help.

I am a mother of six children, four of them have attended this school all of their lives. The other two have attended since being with us. When your child looks at you and states that they love school, and that the principals and teachers are their friends, the faculty are definately doing something right! All of my children love attending school here. The principal knows every child on a first name basis and greets each child in the morning as they arrive. They have classes on values which is unheard of at any other school I have encountered. They get a gift and lunch with the principal on their birthday as well as free ice cream! Not only does the principal know all the students but all the parents as well. My daughter in high school is involved with 2 seperate programs that assist in aiding with reading skills at the school. The teachers are hand-picked with great care and are above all others. Children are the priority here and that I feel is how every school should be. They have free tutoring, programs to help them in reading, and a friendly, enjoyable, learning enviornment. I give this school 5 stars!

My daughter attend MCES kindergarten thru 5th grade and I couldnt have asked for a better experience. The principal is so wonderful and genuinely cares for the students and goes out of her way. The teachers were always helpful and communicated with me on a regular basis and was happy to do so. My daughter was so happy and loved every teacher and staff there. i would never send my kids to any other school:)

I'm afraid I have to disagree with many of the posts regarding this school. I have multiple children at this school and am strongly considering alternate placement. This school is ill-equipped to deal with children who are "out of the norm" and the administration is very close-minded and uninterested in opposing viewpoints, to the detriment of the student.

I give Montgomery Central Elementary School a 5 star rating. I have 3 kids that have attended MCES since their first day of Kindergarden. The teachers and staff are wonderful. MCES also promotes parent involvement, which I feel is an important part of educational success. I am currently going to school to become a teacher and hope to one teach at MCES.

It is a very unique school built around a pond. The children who attend this school have a wonderful, peaceful learning environment! I believe children should be introduced to different learning enviroments. This school embraces these environments. They have an outdoor classroom in which the children receive instruction outside the normal four wall settings. I give this school a 5 star rating!
