Overall, I think EMES needs more teachers assistants to assist with teaching due to the class size and demanding course work. Also, DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION needs implemented to hire teachers and administrators that identify with their student body. It’s 96-98% LILLY WHITE, and doesn’t have many minority teachers and no minority administrators. The entire school board throughout Clarksville can do much better if they desired (but apparently they don’t)……

My child’s Kindergarten teacher is on maternity leave and has had 3 separate substitutes in the first 2-weeks. After inquiring about the multitude of substitutes; I was informed the permanent substitute that was hired to cover the entirety of the permanent teachers role while on maternity leave, was let go because she was allowing the kindergartens to watch Bluey and other unapproved watch items in the classroom. This has lowered my expectation in what I believed would be an easy transition into kindergarten due to the dire inconsistencies of what parents were told to what is actually taking place in my child’s kindergarten class.

My grandson attends this school and is being harassed and bullied and the staff wants to pretend that's not what's happening..the kids are antagonizing each other.. WRONG - His mother moved out of Nashville to Clarksville and this child has had nothing but racist encounters with children who apparently dislike people because of the color of their skin...kid called my grandson a burnt chicken, skin looks like poop..and other racist comments...something I as an adult wouldn't be subjected to at work, school or otherwise...so how is it a child has to be subjected to such insults and the adults at the school pretend like it's not an issue and will skip over what a kid did to get pushed or get hit in the face...we arent playing those games over here..its called self defense..no one will put their hands on this kid and not get a reaction...their solution for in the classroom was to put the child being Harrassed in another class rather than have the bully disciplined ..they tell these kids to do something they don't listen, teacher moved the trouble maker he ends right back over there in my grandson's face asking for trouble...met with principal and teachers twice...they are prone to lying...however no more classroom problems since the move...now they moved it to the bus...getting into a fight on the bus, bus driver made aware each time there's a problem by my grandson and all he had to say was OK, but he never reported the incident (s)to school nor a parent..but little does he know he told on hisself when the mom decided to follow the school bus so she could talk to this kids parent..but the driver saw that she was following he dropped every child off, passed up this kids house twice kept him on the bus till the police he called got there...now we are getting somewhere..roll this footage and fire him on the spot..had he perhaps reported the incidents maybe this nonsense could have been prevented...keeping that 1 kid that pushed my grandson twice and then got punched in the face..who taught these folks how to lie...that video footage will expose the kids lies and the driver..he knew there had been an issue with that kid, but because it was a black kid having the problem he ignored....I'm ready to sue everybody for this child's mental anquish, pain and suffering thru all of this harassment and not being protected or feels safe ..its a hostile environment over there for a kid of color and that's the sad reality and the cruel world we live in....

We've been very lucky. Our 6 year old loves her school, teachers, and friends. We've noticed her shine academically and socially.

This school was so terrible we moved to change school zones. Administration particularly the principal is ineffective in handling bullying. Especially if the offending children are from the right family. After my child endured severe bullying that was reported multiple times and the staff did nothing my children decided to fight back. He was then punished. The lack of leadership and the overall character of this school is severely lacking especially if your child is a minority.

They tell all the kids to be quiet and not talk during lunch. They have seating assignments at lunch?! Very little recess time. Some of the teachers are snooty and rude... and the administration only cares about test scores and their reputation. If you have an issue, they most definitely will not respond to you. We moved from Florida, and we've gotten no hospitality from this school. My friend's daughter had a bad experience also. If you aren't a good old boy from Clarksville where they know your mom and dad, you're not important. I agree with the rater below. The women in the office never smile. The overall women in general have an "air" about them. It's not becoming!

This is the best elementary school in Clarksville. The teachers, administrators, bus drivers, even cafeteria personal all work so hard to get to know each and every student and reach out to meet every need. Parent envolment is through the roof making everyday very enjoyable for everyone.

I would rate this school TOP NOTCH! I am so glad that this is my children's school. I could not ask for a better school for my children. I love the teachers, the parents, the PTO, and the office staff. I am so glad that we decided to go here. My children have the best teachers in the world. The principal is loving and very good at her job. I hope all military families read this because they need to know what an awesome school this is!

East Montgomery is an amazing school. The PTO is very active providing lots of opportunities for parents to be involved with the happenings at the school. The facility and staff are amazing and caring. This is the type of school that teachers and staff stay at as long as they can. The school overall has a great atmosphere and strong commitment to serving children and families.

In 1st grade started they had a substitute fill in for our daughter's teacher for the year because the teacher was on leave. The sub had never taught in TN before. We started having problems almost immediately. Our daughter came home with red marks on her arms saying the teacher grabbed her and hurt her. We contacted the teacher who denied it. Our daughter kept coming home saying the teacher grabbed her, snatched her arms, etc. I went to the school and left a note for the principal. The principal never contacted me. I called every couple of days and left voicemails for two weeks. Finally, I asked for a note to be hand delivered, since her voicemail MUST have been broken. They did nothing. Denied any wrong doing and refused to move our daughter to another class. This went on from late August until two days before Christmas break! They kept saying they were looking into it, and did nothing. Finally, we went to the police dept and filed a report. Our daughter was moved to another class the next day. We got two phone calls from other parents who had the same issues. They wanted to know how we got our daughter out. This school is terrible if you ever get a bad teacher!
