If your child is a typical learner who generally does well in all aspects of school--they'll be fine here. If your child has any learning disabilities or needs any additional support--they will not be fine. If you have a child with learning disabilities and you have any other options--choose the other options.

The teachers do not care if your behind due to sports/other outside activities. The food portions are very small, I recommend packing a lunch. Some of the teachers are very discriminating and will lie to the principal to get them in even more trouble because of how they talk/look. There are windows 8 ft tall on the outside of the building going straight into the classrooms. Overall, this place sucks but your kids will make many friends.

Excellent. My daughter was new as an 8th grader and fit in and had a great year. Teachers continued to educate when Covid hit. She was able to continue to learn when we were at home for a long duration because of teachers and administrators hard work and dedication.

Excellent. Both my wife and I, as well as our two kids have enjoyed our time at JTM. The culture and community of the school has exceeded our expectations.

Our son is now a senior at Hume Fogg. But we will always cherish the many fond memories from his years at JT Moore. He had some rigorous classes and excellent teachers. We are most grateful to them all. We are especially grateful to the schoolÂ’s principal Dr. Hughes, an exceptionally competent and genuinely caring and helpful person. We were very touched, though not surprised, when Dr. Hughes offered the same kind of help that facilitated our sonÂ’s transfer from Hillsboro High to Hume Fogg. Thank you, Dr. Hughes, for being there for your students at all times!

JT Moore has it all: great leadership, high parent involvement, rigorous academic standards and a wonderful commmunity feel. This is our second year at the school and my kids are happy and progressing academically. The IB standards promote a broad worldview with required service hours and reflective thinking. JTM helps your child develop into a well rounded teen.

This is our second year at J T Moore and we could not be more pleased! The faculty and administration are among the most dedicated and aware that we have seen. We come from a high performing feeder school and feel that academic challenge--as well as the focus on social development--are preparing the students for continued success.

Each year the parental and community support grow by leaps and bounds--just a great school and a fabulous asset to the community. No need to choose school options--we have a stellar choice in our own backyards!!

Wonderful principal and vice Principal. This is our second year at Moore and we have had excellent teachers. I believe this school gets very high-achieving students from some feeder schools and some who struggle from other elementary schools. It is a challenge for the educators to meet students where they are. But, they do a beautiful job. It seems the students are treated equally. I am grateful my son is in a diverse school, he is learning compassion as well as academics. He has many opportunities for new experiences: band, lacrosse, football, service projects to earn IB credit hours, etc. Teachers are very helpful anytime I email them. Very caring and energetic. Great sense of community in this school among parents and students.

Really depends on the teacher. There were some amazing experiences, but more pretty awful ones. The best I can say is that there are a handful of amazing teachers and a devoted, hardworking principal. Wouldn't recommend, but hey, that's your choice.

We started JT Moore "again" this year with our 5th grader, and while we were totally happy and content before, we are now ecstatic about what the school has going on and with our daughter's level of happiness and enjoyment of school. The band program is AMAZING! The principal works harder than anyone I have ever met, knows each child by name and welcomes parents with open arms. Our daughter is being challenged and assigned project work that keeps her thinking. We love JTM! #gomatadors

Some folks think that public schools can't be good, but JT Moore is a prime example of that fallacy. Our neighborhood school has strong leadership, high parent engagement, good sports teams, high academic standards, great teachers, AND designation as an International Baccalaureate school. What else do you want?

We have been very impressed with the offerings, atmosphere, and administration at J.T. Moore. My daughter is in 5th grade and takes Mandarin Chinese and strings class daily, while participating in Glee Club 1 day per week (there are other foreign languages and clubs offered as well) ...and both the strings and Glee performances were awesome!...very talented student body with involved, caring teachers that bring out the best in the students! The quality of the academics/extra-curricular activities/foreign language classes are in my opinion equal to, or superior than many of the expensive private schools that we applied to. I have yet to find a private institution here, where a fifth grader can take an in-depth, full period Mandarin Chinese class 5 days per week. I would recommend this school to anyone in zone, that is considering private school for fear of lack of a quality environment/academics. My daughter is thriving both socially and academically...the excitement in her voice, smile on her face, and devastation if she thinks that she will have to miss school, is the proof in the pudding for me.

I would highly recommend JT Moore to my neighborhood friends. We are new to the school this year and have found the administration and staff to be caring and hard-working. They truly love their jobs and care about the students as individuals. They work to foster an atmosphere of kindness and acceptance and bullying is not tolerated. My son is thrilled with the social atmosphere at JT Moore and is being challenged academically. It feels wonderful to support our neighborhood school and watch my son grow and thrive.

I think JTM has it all! Great academic offerings, fabulous teaching and administrative staff, sports, clubs, music, but best of all a supportive, caring community of students and families. I can't imagine sending my kids anywhere else! My oldest daughter is now in high school and was very well prepared, my other two are still at Moore and are succeeding academically and very happy socially. JTM has the right mix to produce well rounded, grounded students ready for high school - wherever that may be.

JTMoore has a strings teacher who turns out amazing concerts. I'm just a grandma. Every concert I've attended was excellent. They are short concerts. The teacher should be commended for her ability to bring out the best in her students.
