This is our childs third year at the school. We originally chose it because we had heard such wonderful things about the former principal, but he left before we even started. Since then, we have seen a continued push toward the arts, which we appreciate, but unfortunately it feels like that focus has come at the expense of academics.
Over the past few years, test scores have dropped and the school is now a Level 1 school based on its academic performance. It often seems as though the administration is not fully connected to what is happening in the academic classrooms and continues to prioritize the arts without addressing the decline in academic outcomes.
Teacher turnover has also been noticeable. This year the school has gone without a gym teacher or a librarian, and several other teachers have left mid-year. The teachers who remain are truly wonderful, dedicated, caring, and hardworking, but from the outside it appears they are not given the support they need to meet the academic needs of every student.
We genuinely love the community and value the creativity the arts bring, but the lack of academic leadership has made us seriously consider other opportunities for our child next year. We hope to see stronger direction and a more balanced focus moving forward.

Our child has been attending Warner for the 2023-2024 school year. We have been very pleased with the overall experience. The teaching staff has been supportive, communicative & our child has really loved their experience.
The administration has also been great. Clearly communicating, answering questions and working with the PTO, parents and the community.
Very pleased with the school as a whole. Excited to see its community involvement grow.

Our daughter is just finishing Kindergarten at Warner and she has loved her experience. Her class has been much smaller than other public elementary schools (14!), the arts focus has been really fun and the staff are incredibly caring and great at what they do

I love the whole family and community vibe at the school all at the same time encouraging students to explore their artistic interests and learning academically.

I moved my child from Lockeland to Warner after kindergarten and now all three of ours go there. I personally attended a private school in Nashville from k-12 and Warner has as much to offer as my private school did for me. Diversity, after school clubs, violin lessons, drama, choir, yoga and breath work instruction, dance, tutoring services, and most importantly, I see my kids learning to become critical thinkers. This is rare in the public system where so much learning is institutionalized, but it is alive and well at Warner. Very pleased.

The school community is extremely nurturing and caring. They offer high expectations and are consistent with supporting the arts. My daughter has made lifelong friends and gets all the individualized support she needs. We toured several schools with her and chose Warner because of the arts focus and the diversity. Her teacher is amazing and understands every child's needs in her class. I cannot say enough about the resources available and the focus on learning at Warner Arts Magnet.

We love Warner! Our two kids have thrived academically and artistically! They have great teachers, small classes, and so many opportunities for students to feel like leaders. My child has performed at community festivals and for the mayor. I also love the attention to social emotional learning. My kids lead me in relaxation exercises every evening.

My boys love Warner! They wake up every morning and cant wait to go to school! They love their teachers and all the programs the school offers. Theyre learning and thriving - its amazing to see their growth.
Dr. Gibbs is an inspiring principal, leader and a great role model. He brings an undeniable energy to the school.

As a parent or student at Warner, you will feel like a member of the family. There is a lot that is not accurately revealed by the testing data featured on this site-- Not only are tests inaccurate measures of learning, this information is out of date.
Our child (and I would suspect most at Warner) has achieved understanding at or above grade level in nearly all areas. Warner is hands-down the best school experience I can ever imagine a kid having. Our child also loves this school so much, they don't want to come home, even when aftercare is finished. We are supported by great teachers from the classroom, to the pathway (music, art, dance, physical education), to the office and counseling faculty. Everyone is wonderful and cares about educating the "whole child." I cannot recommend this school highly enough.

It's a wonder school! Dr Gibbs the principle is GREAT he really cares about the students. The teachers are great especially Ms Bain both my daughter's had her! Overall the school is wonderful defiantly recommend it! 10/10

Warner Elementary has exhibited significant improvement and progress. All of the educators I have encountered at this school, demonstrate and express a genuine interest in its students and the school's growth. My child is currently enrolled at Warner Elementary and the both of us truly enjoy and appreciate everything this school offers.
