Crosswinds has proven to be extremely socially driven. It is predictable what families children will be chosen for special awards, teams, recognition, etc. PTO children can choose their home room teachers. Whilst we all act like this isnt true at the core..this is just a whos who of Collierville money and popularity. Academics are fine, but are far better and have better to offer if you have $ or a well known last name

Best school in the municipal. Works on overall kids development. There are many programs pertaining to kids who are behind and ahead in their studies.

We move here for this school and it has been a great experience. All the Principles and Administration know our daughters they take the time to say hello. They have hosted programs to help understand their programs and plans to help us all be on the same page. Classes are small and interactions with the teachers has been great. Our family loves Crosswind and the staff!

I have 4 kids and two are still at Crosswind. We have been very pleased with how prepared our older kids were when they moved on to middle school. My kids rarely had more than 30 minutes of homework and we have been happy with the teachers. Our biggest reason for choosing Collierville when we moved here in 2015 was for special education services and we were so extremely pleased with the awesome support our child received during elementary school. I cant imagine a better special Ed experience anywhere! My two kids still at crosswind absolutely love it there!

The school needs to understand all kids are not the same.

The teacher gives us the papers my daughter did not finish in class. She does not finish the work when she does not understand. It is hard to help her at home.

The school does not want to know about the family holidays. Only one or two teachers ask about our special days.

The office does not want parents to come in the school. The principal does not talk with all the parents.

My child is having problems keeping up because she can't get assignments finished. The teachers can't tell us what she is doing but they say she isn't goofing off or socializing. Their way of dealing with it is to send home unfinished work which piles on top of regular homework. My child is drowning and never gets a break even when she gets home.

Communication from the school is pretty bad. They send out fund raising flyers way to late. They held a parent/child event during a time that Chorus was supposed to practice. We got reprimanded for attending the event instead of practice. The teachers have the leave them behind mentally instead of no child left behind. These kids get home too late! By the time they do homework, it is dinner, bath, reading, then bed. No time for being a kid!

My 3rd grader is swamped every day with homework and makeup work. She doesn't get home until 4:30pm and immediate has to do homework which is so much she doesn't get hardly any down time to just be a kid.

My child's teachers are horrible people. We have never had problems with teachers before. They called us in for a conference. Told us our child is slow and not finishing most work. We agreed and tried to get her on task but the teachers sent home SO much work in one evening *7 assignments, that we all stressed out. We asked for another conference because it had become obvious our child is having trouble. We received a snarky email telling us that if we needed to meet again, they would call in the VP and a counselor. At this point we were perfectly happy with that. Anything to help our child. One teacher just keeps telling us that our child *will get left behind* the other sat in the conference, dead silent with a condescending smirk like we are wasting her time. We even told them we weren't angry or blaming them, we just wanted to help our child. We have never been treated to rudely by teachers before.

We moved into this area specifically for this school and it's lived up to it's amazing reputation. The teachers are incredible, the principal (new) is fantastic (and she had big shoes to fill as the last one was too), and my children are thriving. Couldn't be happier with Crosswind Elementary.

We've had several instances where communication is lacking or poor. They seem to be disorganized at times and not all the staff are on the same page. One person might tell you one thing only to have another staff member tell you something different. I had higher expectations for this school.

Excellent school with gifted teachers. Enrichment available to all students in all grades. Our children have excelled at this school.
