My review for this school is a bit less about the staff and more so the students. The students are very disrespectful and rude. There is alot of bullying and other things. This school does try to handle it and the teachers do try and care from my experience as a student. I feel though that the school doesn't have harsh enough punishments for bullying, assault, and sexual assault. The previous things I mentioned are things that happened to me and friends. The office suspended those students but I feel me radical action and harsher punishment should've been taken.


TLDR; Staff and teachers are pretty good, teachers try, students, most aren't that nice or good..at all.

Linda Owen id the principle at this school and is incompetent in this position. Un concerned of the children and safety. If there were a crisis in this school these staff members would be clueless on what to do and I do not trust the principle with those decisions. How do these people get these jobs Id like to know? I thought moving to a small town outside of Nashville schools would be much different..sadly they are getting worse and not much far behind Nashville schools that have become completely unsafe and incompetent. There is also no gated entry way a guard on duty before entrance this is how security becomes breached. Something needs to change in these schools and this principle doesnt care. They are not taking school shootings seriously and all it takes is caring and a little effort and money to fix these problems. The public school system is become corrupt and this school and how the principle handles this huge responsibility is no exception. Thats just one issue but the most important.

Unprofessional school! Principle doesnt do her job and communicate with parents. So rude. Several of the staff does not respond to you. Your calls and emails are ignored or your hung up on. Your leaving your child in an incompetent environment. I am not comfortable with my child here and I would not recommend this school. This is what happens when you have a school full of woman in charge. They are rude unprofessional and closed minded. Didnt have these issues at other schools. What happened to schools where they actually cared about the kids and wanted a good reputation for themselves.

Linda Owen has no business being in charge of a school and have responsibility with young children. Very unprofessional. She does not care about doing her job and protecting the safety and fairness of the children and parents. She has ignored communication and concern. She does not respond to questions, concerns and guidance regarding your child. The school does not take bullying seriously or the current spreading of viruses. Sense my child has attended she and other office staff have shown nothing but impersonal rude behavior and absolute incompetence. I do not want my child in the care of a school who is lead by ignorance.

10/10 I cannot imagine sending my middle school student anywhere else. CMS cares for the kids, supports their learning, and encourages students.

The teachers make it a point to assign practice work, but it is never so much that it cannot be done and turned in on time.

Guidance counselors and administrators address bullying issues. And CMS guidance counselors use educational tools to make sure students understand the negative impact of bullying on others

Teachers at CMS care for these students inside as well as outside of the classroom. They encourage students and are quick to point out instances when students are performing positively.

i rate my experience with Cheatham Middle School as "Excellent". As an outside contractor who works at CMS , I have been welcomed by all staff and administration. I have witnessed teachers supporting students both academically and emotionally. Students at CMS are cared for by staff and administrators. I know that school staff reach out to parents personally when parents have expressed concerns regarding grades and/or others matters. I am not an educator by profession but I am a parent. If my children were still young enough for middle school I would happily send them to CMS knowing they would be in a great learning environment.

Any communication that has occurred between my child's school and I has been more than positive. I have found all staff at CMS to be responsive to our needs and work quickly and effectively to ensure the best outcome. The teachers implement interesting, relevant lessons and I feel that my children will be well prepared for high school and beyond.

This school has been a fantastic transition for my 5th grader. They implent technology in every class and involve the students with real life events as much as possible. I could not be happier for my daughter to be going to a more fantastic school!

The staff is not attentive to student behavior during loosely structured times like meals, arrival and dismissal. Their policy does nothing to deter bullies from additional bad behavior and/or retaliation against those children being bullied. Mrs Owen is not a good role model or communicator and cares nothing about building confidence and empowering victims of bullying to stand up for themselves. She is also not interested in sharung PUBLIC POLICY with parents.

It has been a difficult 2 years for us, mostly because MRS OWEN only cares about herself and not the students she is supposed to be supervising. The teachers this year were wonderful but the leadership as portrayed by Mrs Owen are well below poor. Hopefully next year will be better if she can be removed from the equation via a transfer to another school.

Mrs Owen only supports her OWN meeds, not those of parents or students. She does not need to be an administrator, much less in Education in any category.

I can't answer this question. ThIs is our first year. What I have seen and heard, I just don't like this school. More important, I don't like the rating. I want my kids to get a better education.

We don't like a lot of things about this school. We don't like that this school is rated a 4. It's just the first week of school and I have already heard about a teacher getting into a students face and yelling at her. Open house wasn't what I wanted to hear. They showed a video of kids and teachers dancing and the principle saying afterwards, we have fun here! Well, I wanted to see a video of how they were going to educate my child. If she would have said, we make learning fun than that be ok! I was told I couldn't walk my child in anymore on the second day of her starting a new school. It was said to me not in a nice way. There is more things about this school we don't like! We have decided to sell our house and move out of Cheatham County so our children can go to a better school.
