ECS is a school that truly cares for its students and families. They see the importance of viewing every part of life through the Gospel lens. They teach our children to do everything (academics, athletics, fine arts, etc) for the Glory of God.

Both of our kids love ECS. They were welcomed and felt comfortable immediately.

The school is, on the whole, a good experience. The campus is beautiful and open, and the school has something for everyone. After school clubs and sports help students to be more well rounded and focus on their interests, while classes in school hammer down fundamentals of their class.
However, it does suffer from a few problems, specifically in academics. It can feel at times like athletics are almost a priority, while academics sit on the backburner in most situations. As a middle schooler in honors classes, some classes haven’t been a challenge for me, even some of the honors classes. That isn’t to say that they’ve been easy, and I’ve been able to breeze past every class, but some specific classes don’t feel like they are giving an adequate amount of instruction for the grade level. Some positives are in the academics, such as the rotating schedule, which may be hard to grasp at first. However, it does help to combat feelings of repetition by changing the order of classes every day. The teachers seem to care about their work, and teachers help students that may be lost in the material and/or confused. No one should fail a class unless they are not putting in effort to the class.
The headmaster, Braxton Brady, is the best headmaster I could ask for. He continually prioritizes the students wellbeing while still making sure that they are achieving in school. However, the school has continually proven to be run “loosely.” (Mr. Brady excluded) Events and important dates are constantly changing, and it can be hard to know what is happening at school, especially for parents.
The school has no problem of serious bullying, and everyone will find at least one friend. There is no problem of physical violence if students act with more than one brain cell, and continued physical violence has not happened whatsoever in school. No teacher will ever turn a blind eye to bullying if they are aware that it is happening.
I may have focused on the negatives, but that isn’t to say that the school is in shambles. I would recommend it to anyone whose children might be an average kid. It has plenty of opportunities outside of the base curriculum, and it helps students find and stoke their interests. 4/5

ECS is the absolute best Christian school in the Memphis area. We choose ECS after moving to the Memphis area from another state. Our children are flourishing! They have made wonderful friends, the parents are so welcoming and involved and the teachers are just above and beyond anything we could have hoped for. They have appointed a new group of leaders to really guide the school into the next century of learning and create a culture of memory making and fun. Our transition into the ECS family has really helped us feel at home in our new community.

If you are a Christian family looking into private education for your child, I highly recommend that you call the school for a tour or shadow. 901-754-7217

We LOVE ECS!! I graduated from ECS and now my little girl is attending ECS. It is a phenomenal Christian school that truly incorporates God's word in every aspect of their teaching. There truly is a DIFFERENCE at ECS that one cannot always experience unless you are a student at the school or a parent truly committed to raising a Christ-centered child. ECS reinforces the Christian teaching at home and Church. The teachers and staff are amazing and sooo incredibly sweet! Most of all ECS is an example of God's love and reinforces the importance of love and respect for ourselves and for others.

. My child was a transfer and was not accepted by students and even a couple of teachers. They were doing bible projects in Geometry. My child is extremely well behaved and respectful to all and she was treated poorly by students and teachers. I have two older children that graduated private schools ( good ones) and never experienced anything like my youngest did at ECS.It's all smiles on the outside but beware- it changed instantly. My child still struggles even after removing her from the situation. She still wonders what she did to be treated the way she was.

While we experienced two teachers that did not treat my daughter well- she did have some very good teachers that cared

Obviously not. If this school wants new students, they need to teach current students acceptance

The school is in denial about what goes on behind the cover of Christianity. The students and parents are not friendly, helpful, or welcoming. Sad but true. They really need to take a critical look at the culture of the school and address/acknowledge the issues.

Too many ECS high school kids throw and attend wild parties. Parents and school seem to be in denial.

ECS is an outstanding school. My child has been at ECS for 8 years. We love ECS! The faculty is great! The curriculum is vigorous, well rounded providing a real Christian Worldview, First Class education. We have built solid, good, fun relationships with families of ECS. The sincerity of teachers and faculty to really mentor, build relationships, and instill good character in ECS students as well as assisting them to ensure students excel is amazing. I watch the seniors year after year. They are all such well rounded quality individuals. That speaks the most for ECS.

Our children have attended ECS for 8 years, and I can honestly say I have not regretted it for one second. While ECS is not perfect (no school is) the leadership, including faculty, staff, administrators, coaches and support personnel, are all committed to providing a top flight education centered around a Christian worldview, and caring and mentoring to each child and their unique needs. The teachers are all genuinely loving and caring, provide a great mix between discipline and "grace", and do all they can to encourage each child to develop their unique strengths and abilities. The school is a fantastic steward of its financial resources. While the facilities are not the biggest or shiniest, they are all high quality and effective, and the school continually looks to upgrade and improve. The school offers a very strong variety of programs across the spectrum sports, fine arts, academic extra cirricular and leadership development. But above all, this is a school whose community looks to honor and glorify God through all it does, and provide an excellent Christ-centered educational experience.

ECS is outstanding. A rigorous college-prep curriculum is infused with Christian worldview for a truly unique education. ECS is large enough to offer a full academic, athletic, and fine arts program but small enough that every child is known and cared for. My children have flourished at ECS.
