My daughter attended Idlewild SrK program 2 years ago and now my middle son is starting his SrK year there. This is a wonderful program with caring and experienced teachers. It was a great start to my children's school careers. They get a solid academic foundation but more than that, they came/come home everyday thrilled about what they are learning and doing in school. The class size is set at 16 (no overcrowded classrooms or stretched-thin teachers here!) and with two teachers you can't beat that teacher-child ratio in kindergarten. The teachers really take the time to work individually so that each student gets the attention they need to reach their fullest potential. Some people may not be looking for a half-day program but it was perfect for us! They were home in time for lunch with me, nap or rest time if needed, with still time for reading and writing together before older siblings come home and they aren't too exhausted at the end of a long school day to enjoy reading or family time which is sometimes the case at this age in a full-day program. We have loved our experience at Idlewild and plan on our youngest attending the program in a few years.
