I attended Cordova high from 2020-2023. After Covid, I had attended in person by 21. I will go ahead and start off with the bad about this school. The amount of fights that have happened here is absurd. I mean I know it can happen anywhere but I feel like the school isnt taking enough action towards about the fights really. Not even the teachers because it isnt in their pay for them to be stopping any sorts of fights that may occur. Not even for the amount they get paid, I will say Cordova does have great teachers and some do make learning really fun needless to say. At least the ones Ive had, but overall it is in a great location. The parking could use re pavement. Overall I made a good amount of friendships here.

The oven has been broken for the past 2 weeks, the food is gross and even then, they only give us about 20 min or less to eat. We only have 3 minutes to get to class. Everything is basically online now so if your kid wants to do online school then please let me, it's better than them into fights and eating gross food that's probably stunting their growth anyway. I would also like to point out that if you let your kid do online school then they may get 1 more hour of sleep. The majority of the teachers here are quite nice and helpful, but I will that any kids that are LQBTQIA+ may have a hard time here if they have a preferred name or if they're trans (most kids here are 14-18). I'm sorry to say this but if your child has a blood sugar problem (needs to eat snacks a lot) then they will have to pack their own snacks and most of the teachers here will most likely not let them eat in their class. overall, the pep rallies cost money, the food is bad, most teachers are nice, and the feeling of being rushed is common, so is being tired.

I currently go to this school and I'm in 9th grade. I keep constantly have to deal with bullies and always being late for my class because the hallways are always crowded. My English teacher even pretty much start teaching us the "N" word during the second week of school. When going to lunch, the janitors do a poor job of cleaning the cafeteria. And Whenever I'm tardy and try to give out a positive good reason, my teachers simply ignore me and compare me to all the bullies even though I'm one of the quiet types who mainly focus on my schoolwork.

Horrible attendance policies, tardies is worse! If ur child come in past 7am the parent has to come in the next day to sign in before 7am or the child spends day in detention room. May i add that the traffic leaving the school is a nightmare due to factorys and lots of stop signs! It me an hour just to get down the street and if u have a morning job and a single parent it can really make life hard! I just decided to take my kid to a different school, besides all the office bull the school itself is awesome and my daughter truely liked it and the classes. Shows how sum ppl in charge can really mess up what could have been a great situation for children. Smh

This school only gets worse by the year. It was once a good school until the city bought it over. Since then, it hasn't been the same. The students cannot be controlled. The teachers sometimes are just as immature as the students. The people who actually come here to learn end up suffering because of the rest who do not want to learn. If you're different, prepare to get teased for it. The teachers do nothing about it so just suck it up and deal with it. The staff acts like they don't want to be there. It shows all over their face and attitudes. This was a terrible high school experience. Don't recommend it to anyone.

Cordova Is an amazing school. I currently take 3 AP classes and four honor classes here. The school spirit is through the roof. They make leaning actually fun. If teachers see that you want to go places in life they do everything in their power to help you achieve them.

Cordova High is a good school. If you want to learn, you will, as the tools are there. The atmosphere in the school has greatly improved since the Sherrif's department took over policing the school and the football team made it to the playoffs. Go Wolves!

It used to have an amazing reputation when it was an intercity school. Now that Shelby County ruined it, I'm not proud to be a Wolf.
