I have two students that enrolled at Bon Lin in 2018. Both had wonderful teachers who communicated with me regularly. I appreciate the additional homework because I see myself as a partner in my children's success. Both teachers gave options to the amount of homework that has to be completed weekly. We had the option to do more. During weeks that I was busy I could opt to do the minimum requirement.

Both of my kids had wonderful teachers who supported and challenged them. My 1st grade daughter would always express how much she loved her teacher and would write her letters to tell her.

Mr. Mcellan introduced himself to my kids and took the time to talk/listen to them express thier concerns about their new school.

I do not have a child with a disability.

There is deefinitely a Zero tolerance at BLE.

As a new parent with two children enrolled at BLE I would give the school a 10/10. We are African-American. Although both of my kids received academic honors (Grade of A all year); I am concern about the overall score for black students (8/10) compared to other races (white students scored 10/10). I do not believe the lower scores are due to bias. In fact, I believe it may be due to systemic issues (parent involvment, low income, learning disabilities, etc....) Whatever the cause, more should be done to increase scores for black students.

In my opinion BLE is over crowded which means teachers don't have a lot of time to focus on each individual child. My child would bring home tons of homework expecting me to be able to teach him how to do it. Communication is not very good either. They are very concerned with tcap scores and looking good on paper.

I love everything about Bon Lin, I have no complaints. They embraced my baby boy that has Autism and treats him just as the rest. From the administration to the janitor, they are the best!

I have had 2 children attend Bon Lin. One from Kindergarten to 5th and the other 1st through 5th. Everyone of their teachers has been amazing!
I love that their are so many extra activities that are offered and opportunities for parents to be involved in the school. We bought our house because we knew our kids would be able to attend Bon Lin. We moved from the Chicago area and asked a lot of people what the best school was and they all said Bon Lin!
One of the best things about this school is that there are so many military and other families coming in and out. No kid is ever made to feel like the "new Kid".
All teachers are very responsive in answering questions and working on parent concerns.

My daughter is in 5th grade at Bon Lin and has attended school here since Kindergarten. She is happy and we couldn't be more pleased. Wonderful staff, teachers and parents. The school is bright and colorful just like the personalities of everyone employed here. Everyone goes above and beyond for our students and the extra curricular activities are hands-down the best. Thanks BLE! You rock.

The teachers and administrators are amazing! They are constantly encouraging and challenging the students which are both great factors for children especially at this age. They offer so many extra activities for the children also; from running club to the dance crew to girls & boys 5th grade basketball teams to Art club and soo many more. My daughters just loved it there!

When you walk into the school you cannot help but be welcomed! Bright colors, friendly faculty & staff, happy & smiling children are immediately what you see. My family has been part of the Bon Lin ES family since it opened. My 4 children have each received the finest education which includes meeting their own specific needs. These specific needs range from APEX (gifted program) to Resource/co-teaching. When my daughter had trouble in spelling, the teacher found and implemented interventions to help her. I have seen her grow through the instruction to be more self confident. My child who has a learning disability gained reading skills and confidence through SPED & is now succeeding in high school. I credit the foundations of the early interventions for this. in addition to academics, there are many opportunities for students to explore extracurricular activities such as Art club, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) club, Battle of the Books, Garden Club, Basketball, Dance Team, Cheerleading & Spirit Club. Parents are an invited and active part of the school. The PTA is very active & parent volunteers read, utor, help teachers with classroom needs, etc. The

We are military and moved to Memphis in summer 2013. I was quite concerned with Memphis schools so I did a lot of research before picking Bon Lin. This school has been absolutely WONDERFUL. From the principal to the teachers, everybody has gone out of their way to get my 4th grader settled into her new school. The teacher morale is very high and it shows in the smiles on their faces. Communication is fantastic and there are plenty of fun activities to participate in for the students. The students are so well behaved and respectful and the teachers actually enjoy teaching. I can't say enough good about this school.

I have a 5th grader last year and she loved it! I loved it as academics are very important. I liked the staff and the children were for the most part very well behaved! My little has moved on to middle school now.

I am very pleased with this school. My child has attended for four years and I have been happy with all of her teachers as well as the administration. The teachers are very committed to the students and it shows. Parent involvement is highly encouraged by the school and parents are very involved in many activities and programs.

Focus is on TCAP and maintaining high test scores. The school does not have a strong stance on bullies which has been a problem where my son has been hit, pushed and shoved 3 separate times in the first 5 weeks of school. They work hard to bring the struggling students up to passing but do little for the gifted students to challenge them, at least until they reach 3rd grade and get into APEX.
