My children have been attending Little Scholars Montessori for over 7 years. Just when I think I couldn't love this learning environment more, the staff bring in new ideas, provide new and creative multi-sensory lessons, and are able to create exciting learning opportunities throughout the day that are fun and engaging and meet the students at/on their level. All three of my children, despite all having very different strengths, weaknesses and needs, have thrived in this setting. The staff have become our second family and I fully trust them to guide my children as they navigate social and academic opportunities during their school days.

I would not recommend this school for Black children/families. There is a culture of micro aggression and discriminatory behavior and practices.

This is an excellent program for all students. This school is how the rest of the education system should operate.

Our son started Little Scholars when he was 1.5 years old and is now 2.5. The year he spent at a "daycare" was OK but does not even compare to the nurturing and learning environment of LS. He is excited to go to school everyday and has a wonderful staff of teachers and afternoon assistants that he has known since Day 1. The staff is loving, kind, and consistent - exactly what kids need!

If I was able to rate Little Scholars I would pick other then great. Great isn't even the word! Little Scholars is STUNNING! I enrolled both my children at Little Scholars Montessori! When I first went to observe this school I knew that I had found the place I wanted my children to begin their education experience ! My children have learned so much and really enjoyed being there on a daily basis. They gained confidence in their social interactions and in their abilities to read and write. They learned about different cultures and customs/sign language and became aware of our world. I am so happy that they received such a strong base to begin their education! I HIGHLY recommend this school!

our daughter is a "baby bug". my husband and i love the staff and it is so great to see our daughter learning so much. we went to another childcare facility before Little Scholars and it's amazing how much more comfortable we are with LS. I truly feel like they're teaching her something new every day and they love our daughter unlike our previous experience with another daycare.

I would highly recommend Little Scholars Montessori as we were a part of this wonderful program for 3 years. We just recently moved away from Clarksville and our new location does not offer any Montessori programs for his grade level. I was concerned about his adjustment into the public school settings. He would have been entering Kindergarten by age cutoff dates in Tennessee but the cutoff dates are different in Mississippi and by his age placed him into 1st grade. He has adjusted to the public school setting along with excelling within the classroom. We recently just received his benchmark testing from the beginning of the year and he exceeded the entire 1st grade end of year standards. The staff at Little Scholars has the knowledge and education background to ensure all kids entering or leaving the program will be setup for success in the next step of their education. The quality of service that you will receive goes beyond the education level, at Little Scholars you add extended family members to your FAMILY tree and you will make memories that you will cherish for many years to come.

Many schools will talk about a strong character standards for their students but LS Staff will lead by example. This will ensure the students see the characteristic in action.

I could not be happier than I am with this school. Both my children have attended since its beginning, then we moved and they attended an excellent public school for one year in Virginia. When we found out we could move back to the area if we wanted (while the husband went over seas) there was no hesitation to do so. A HUGE reason we made this decision was because of Little Scholars. They are very caring and professional. The class sizes are not found in any other school in the area and each child gets personal instruction designed for their learning needs/level. I have asked both my children which school setting they liked better and they both agreed they preferred little scholars but didn't dislike public schools. (Being perfectly honest) as a parent I know without a doubt they are getting a far superior education than they would be getting at any public school. This school does mix in traditional school with Montessori and I love that fact. Most will move from the Montessori setting on to a more traditional setting (like we did for one year) and these children will have little if any issues transitioning. Neither of my children had any problems adjusting to the public school routine and then adjusting back to Montessori.

I am a very happy parent and would recommend Little Scholars to anyone with an interest in developing foundations for future learning to check them out.

Son went here for 9 months. Appeared to have a great program, but the absolutely atrocious level of strep throat & sickness (including lice and pinworm) really obstructed his education. We could not make the first conference (because we were working) & it went downhill. His teacher took 30 DAYS to respond to our emails about progression & she did cancel at the last minute another conference after we moved our schedules. After 9 months we sent the director a message & stated we must talk. She called & said our son was way behind & they have been needing to tell us. They must have not needed to tell us to bad because they NEVER called, txt, emailed, mailed, or spoke to use at pickup/drop-off about this until his entire Pre-K year was over. Then they had the nerve to tell us they are not responsible for missing other appointments & we needed to make the first conference. They don t know how to use a telephone & we get better service at our auto dealer when we need an oil change. Their level of miscommunication is unfathomable. He will never step foot back in that school & if their level of unprofessionalism is anything like their teaching it was a great choice to leave.

All three of our boys were at Little Scholars while we lived in Clarksville, and we were very happy with the educational experience that each had while they were there. I loved that the school fostered self-help skills, incorporated lots of movement into the children's day throughout the day, and encouraged the individual interests of the kids. I was incredibly happy with my boys' teachers at LS, and felt like they were challenged academically. The teachers took time to work with each child individually too. I also loved that the kids helped each other learn the material. My boys made great friends at LS, that we have kept in touch with even after moving several states away.

Both my 6 year old and 2 year old were enrolled at Little Scholars and I loved the environment. My 6 year old thrived in ways she wasn't elsewhere and my son was growing in ways other facilities would not even attempt to impliment. The staff here is amazing, every person in the building is dedicated to each student and their background is impeccable. Before and after care was a life saver for me, and the summer program was great, there is nothing else that is similar in the area. We have moved and both of my children are placing ahead of their peers. My daughter is reading at a grade ahead of her peers and my son is excelling in pre-k with children a year older than him. Little Scholars set the strong educational foundation that my kids will continue to build on. I am so thankful that I found Little Scholars where my kids were able to grow personally while also growing achedemically. I wish I could have moved Little Scholars with us as I know we will not find another facility like theirs.

Interesting little school... the concept is great, however, I feel that for the ammount they charge, the facilities and services could be a little better. For instance, the cafeteria has an unfinsihed cement floor, which is fine for lunch time, but when they use the area to show movies, the kids have to sit there on that floor. Having transportation for field trips would be nice too, so parents don't have to lose a whole day of work. The treachers are great though, my child learned so much there, and that alone was worth all the extra cost.

Little Scholars provided a great foundation of learning and socialization for my child. The staff truly cares about each of the children as if they were family. When we moved away from the area my daughter was two grade levels ahead in several subjects. The beauty of Montessori is there is no academic pressure, your child moves and learns at their pace. The teachers at this school are great at letting the children explore and learn.

The teacher-to-student ratio is excellent (4:1 for my child's class). The preschool class has taught my child to be independent, yet to socialize well. My child has learned about geometric shapes, numbers, letters, other cultures, science, the arts, and foreign language. The independent and group lessons are well structured and the atmosphere is caring and supportive.

We moved our son from another daycare to this school after just a few months in town. We have LOVED it! He looks forward to class every morning, and he has soaked up the opportunties for learning in his class, in all the fun specials they have daily - home ec, PE, Spanish, and art, and in the frequent field trips. He has a wonderful teacher who nurtures their social skills and helps them develop skills for independence. I love that he gets to learn at his own speed and in his own way while being exposed to so many different things. I also love that there is a real awareness of good nutrition and encouraging good habits, something we had an issue with at his last school. There is a private facebook group that enables us to see what the students are doing through the day across the ages/grades. The kids always look excited to be learning and they aren't just sitting at a desk all day! They are engaged in hands on learning. We have been so impressed with the pictures and teacher/parent comments about the elementary grades that we are planning on our son continuing at LS through pre-k and into his elementary years.

Couldn't be happier with Little Scholars. The teachers and staff are professional and really care about the students. Small class sizes. Daily updates and weekly newsletters keep parents involved. No complaints.

I transferred my child to LS after a negative experience in public school. My child isn't the easiest to transition but her teachers have gone above and beyond to help her both academically and socially. I love how involved they keep parents through email, take-home folders and texts. The teacher to student ratio insures that each child feels heard and gets the attention he or she needs to excel. The pace is determined by the students and I believe it allows for more personal growth than the more regimented system of public schools. Overall the experience at this Montessori has been positive. I do not agree with the other poster about some rude staff, that has not been my experience and with how well run the school is, I could care less if the teachers come to school dressed in polos or sweatpants. The changes they make in their students is what I'm looking for and I am impressed by what I see.

Little Scholars has been a wonderful learning environment for my granddaughter. The staff, teachers and owners are so focused and involved. They truly care about each child's development. I have been in all the public schools in Montgomery county and there is no doubt in my mind that LS is by far the best.

It's just too bad there aren't other Montessori schools in Clarksville to choose from. I do believe in the method and from what I could tell the method was being implemented proficiently. However, my impression of the staff wasn t a positive one so I chose to put my child elsewhere. The staff didn t greet me kindly at all when I came in. One lady saw me through the door and yelled I don t know who that is in a snarky tone of voice and walked away. A few of the staff members seemed to be pleasant people but there were a couple I could tell were very catty ladies just by watching their faces and interactions with children. Also, I understand the staff needs to be comfortable and they weren t dressed too badly but they were mostly wearing things I would wear on saturday and I couldn t differentiate between staff and otherwise. Perhaps the owner should think of making staff wear polo shirts with the school logo with jeans or khakis and badges. May be badges is too far but it s always more comforting to know who is staff and who is not and since it is a private school I expected more. The owner seemed to be sweet though and very capable.

We sent our child to a standard daycare, prior to Little Scholars, and we saw no structure or progress in his social and educational development. We transferred him at three years old, in December of 2012, and after one month he knew his entire alphabet and could count to twenty. I've been very pleased with the overall experience. The cost difference is nominal compared to the differences that he has shown. I would recommend Montessori education over standard daycare any day of the week.
