I have had multiple children enrolled at NCCS for several years—some with an IEP and some without—and I have been consistently impressed by the support each of them has received. The school recognizes that every child has unique strengths and needs, and my children have been given the encouragement and resources to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

The teachers are caring, communicative, and genuinely invested in their students' growth. I have always felt informed about my children's progress, goals, and expectations, and the staff does an excellent job of partnering with families throughout the year.

One of the school's greatest strengths is its authentic commitment to celebrating diversity. Rather than treating it as an occasional topic, NCCS weaves it into the school culture. Events like the Hispanic Heritage Month celebration and the unforgettable Black History Month program are meaningful, well-executed, and leave a lasting impression on both students and families.

Another highlight is the Friday morning Community Meeting. Families are invited into the school each week for a fun, energetic gathering that gives parents a glimpse into classroom life while creating opportunities to connect with other families. It has been one of the best ways to build relationships and foster a true sense of community.

My only criticism is that the parent organization has untapped potential. I believe there are many parents who are eager to volunteer their time and support, but there isn't always a clear structure or direction for how they can get involved. Strengthening parent engagement could further enhance an already wonderful school community.

Overall, our experience at NCCS has been overwhelmingly positive. It is a caring, inclusive school with dedicated educators who genuinely want every child to succeed.

My son is in kindergarten. While in daycare, he was rarely excited to wake up, go to school, or talk about his day. Now, he wakes up every morning and looks forward to seeing his friends and teachers. He has learned to read and write and loves writing stories. He has learned so much knowledge -- he memorized poems, can tell you about colonial jobs and US Presidents and completed an amazing project for Black History Month. We feel really lucky and so grateful!

A lot has changed at this school from my experience some staff members were rude ,and when I reached out for support or help it was not a good feeling to be talked to rude and I understand why my child feels what she feels and it bothers me a lot I never want to come to this school for anything because its not a welcoming environment whatsoever.I enjoyed letting my child go to Nashville classical years ago ,but hearing my child explain to me that she's feels like they treat them like dogs and some of the teachers and staff are rude she comes home stressed out everyday and wish they would care about the students ,but it seems like they care about there reputation and that's not a school no one wants to attend. I'm here to say this is heartbreaking and my child has a few more months and she will be leaving this school.

I would never recommend this school to anyone. The students' behavior toward one another is terrible. Any bullying, sexual harassment, racism, or sexism is met with little to no consequences. In a situation where a student is faced with bullying, the teachers and administration will do nothing beneficial for the victim. Instead, they punish the victims for standing up for themselves. When a student is struggling in class due to mental health or personal issues, they are met with disrespect. We are told to ask for help, but we do not receive any that is truly helpful. The students are also expected to take criticism that is not constructive, or they will get punished. Our feelings or needs are never actually taken into consideration. Many teachers will have an attitude toward their students. Some will even target certain students or give others special privileges and excuses. The whole class's mood will be brought down by their teachers' irritation, but we are expected to not show any form of annoyance back. Class punishments are common, even when it is only a select few that are being disruptive. Nashville Classical provides a terrible environment to learn. They have implemented new, much stricter rules that are harming more than they help. These rules have made it more difficult to pay attention in class because we have to worry about things that did not matter before. They have set up a system that causes its students to stress over their own harmless behaviors, since they will face punishment for not fitting these rules. The majority of our grade is neurodivergent, but these rules are ones that force everyone into the same standard, even though each student has their own processes and struggles. They prefer to upkeep a 'perfect' image, rather than focusing on the needs of their scholars.

if there was one word to describe the experience at this school it’d have to be disheartening. from the moment I stepped into this school I had true interest in the content that was taught and optimism for the future to come ahead of me but unfortunately I was seriously mistaken. ever since this school has changed (drastically) it has been a chore to even attend every day. The environment is horrible, from the bullying and harassment to the strict rules that are enforced here that make me personally feel overwhelmed and uninterested, not to mention the administrators that barely do anything for actual issues. I personally don’t know what’s worse, having to put up with the disrespect and blindness of the majority of the staff or to be stuck in a repetitive routine with more harshness than true reward.

I can say many things about this school but I will only say 2. First, just last week (the first week of school) multiple 5th graders jumped a kindergartener because there was no bus monitor and the driver didn't care. Second, school surveys never actually change anything at the school.

Teachers and students are treated like robots. Children act terribly - getting in fights, destroying classrooms, assaulting teachers, throwing chairs - and receive little to no consequences. Teachers bad mouth the school and administration to each other while admin bad mouths the parents in front of teachers. In two years, close to 50 teachers have quit mid-year or declined to return. In January 2023, five teachers or support staff quit in just one week.

They really work with these children hands on and let's them know that they can do anything that they put their minds to.

I have a niece at this school and this is her 2nd year there. I can honestly say that these children are being taught and being prepared to become future leaders of society. The classes are small and the kids eager to learn. I'd recommend this school to anyone.
