As a mother, I was unsure about Purpose Prep Academy at first because of how strict the school is academically and behaviorally. The workload and amount of homework each night were definitely an adjustment for our household compared to other schools we had experienced. However, after having my daughters here for the past two years, I can honestly say the results speak for themselves.

The academic curriculum is rigorous and high quality, and the teachers truly care about each student’s success. My youngest daughter entered kindergarten barely knowing her numbers and letters, and now she is reading full books and solving multi-step math problems. The growth we have seen in both of our children has been incredible.

One of the things that stands out most about Purpose Prep is the strong sense of community. You can feel it the moment you walk into the building or speak with any member of the staff. The teachers and administrators are involved, supportive, and genuinely invested in the students and families.

I also deeply appreciate how seriously the school takes student safety. For example, when children are dropped off from the bus, they are not simply allowed to get off on their own. Staff make sure that a parent or another approved adult is present before releasing the child. As a parent, that level of care and attention provides a great sense of comfort and trust.

I also want to recognize the special education department, which has been exceptional for our family. I have a child with autism who faces some academic challenges, and throughout every IEP meeting I truly felt like part of the team. I never felt like I had to fight to get my daughter the support and services she needed, which means more than I can express as a parent.

Purpose Prep is not an “easy” school, and the expectations are high, but if you are looking for a school that is structured, caring, academically strong, and committed to helping children grow, this school has been a blessing to our family.

Over the past three years at Purpose Prep, I have experienced meaningful professional growth through progressively expanding roles. I began as a classroom teacher, advanced to Lead Teacher in my second year, and now serve as a Grade Level Lead. Each of these opportunities has strengthened my instructional practice, deepened my leadership capacity, and reinforced my commitment to educational excellence.
What I value most about Purpose Prep is its unwavering commitment to high expectations and student achievement. The school’s rigorous curriculum challenges scholars to think critically, persevere through complex tasks, and reach their fullest potential. I appreciate being part of an environment that does not lower the bar, but instead provides the necessary support to ensure all scholars can meet and exceed those expectations.
As an educator, I am deeply passionate about my scholars and intentional in building strong, trusting relationships with them. I believe that a positive and structured learning environment, paired with genuine care, is essential for both academic and personal growth. Purpose Prep’s mission and culture align closely with my own belief that every child deserves access to a high-quality education and the opportunity to succeed.
My appreciation for Purpose Prep continues to grow each year because of its dedication to excellence, its investment in both scholars and staff, and its clear vision for what is possible in education. I am proud to be part of a community that prioritizes both rigor and relationships, and I remain committed to contributing to its ongoing success.

I have serious concerns about the overall quality and environment of this school. A decline in rating from a 9 to a 4 is significant and reflects deeper systemic issues. The school culture does not feel equitable or supportive for all students and families.

There appears to be a lack of transparency when it comes to reporting disciplinary issues, including suspensions and student behavior, despite these concerns being prevalent. Additionally, there are noticeable inconsistencies in how students are treated, which can give the impression of favoritism.

I am also concerned about the level of professionalism demonstrated by some staff members. Respectful communication with families should be a priority, yet that standard does not always seem to be upheld. Furthermore, it feels as though expectations and protocols are enforced primarily on parents, while staff are not held to the same level of accountability.

Overall, these issues create an environment that is not conducive to trust, fairness, or a positive educational experience.

As a single father, I’m very intentional about my son’s future. I’ve read the reviews where parents complain about the amount of homework, and I understand it—because I had that same reaction in the beginning. I remember that first week at Purpose Prep—we sat at the table for nearly three hours just trying to get through one night of homework. I was frustrated. I questioned if it made sense.
But I stayed with it.
Now, three years later, I’m seeing something completely different. The same boy who once struggled through a single homework assignment now sits down and completes an entire week’s worth of homework in just a few hours—not because it got easier, but because he got stronger.
That’s when it became clear to me: this school isn’t just assigning homework—it’s building discipline, confidence, and identity.
My son doesn’t run from pressure anymore. He expects it. He’s prepared for it.
And here’s the reality—when a child gets to college, especially at a high level, the workload doesn’t get lighter, it gets heavier. If they’re not prepared to handle that kind of academic pressure early on, it can overwhelm them later. This environment is preparing him now so he won’t be shaken then.
As a father, that means everything to me. I’m not raising him to just get by—I’m raising him to be ready. Ready for college. Ready for life. Ready for every room he walks into.
Purpose Prep isn’t for everyone. It requires commitment, involvement, and standards. But if you’re serious about your child’s future and you understand that greatness is built—not given—then you’ll recognize exactly what this school is doing.
I’ve seen the transformation with my own eyes.
And that’s something I’ll never question again.

I highly recommend Purpose Prep Academy to anyone looking for a school where purpose meets passion. What stands out most to me is the strong, positive culture throughout the school. There’s a real sense of community, and it’s clear that both staff and students feel supported and valued.

The academic program is another highlight. The content is rigorous and challenging in a way that pushes students to grow and think critically, while still providing the support they need to succeed. It’s not just about high expectations it’s about helping every student rise to meet them.

What I appreciate most is the dedication of the staff. Every day, there is a consistent effort to show up for students, support them, and make sure they have what they need both academically and personally. That level of commitment makes a lasting impact. I’m proud to be part of a school that truly puts students first. I LOVE Purpose Prep Academy. I have worked since I was 15 years old and this is one job that I actually LOVE!!

My experience at Purpose Prep has been incredibly positive and fulfilling. From the moment I stepped into this role, I have felt supported, valued, and encouraged to grow both professionally and personally. The school community is strong, intentional, and centered around student success. There is a shared commitment among staff to not only meet high expectations, but to truly make a lasting impact on our scholars.

The community at Purpose Prep feels like a family. Teachers collaborate, uplift one another, and celebrate each other’s successes. Leadership is present, supportive, and invested in both teacher growth and student achievement. There is a clear sense of purpose in everything we do, which creates a motivating and inspiring work environment.

In my classroom, I strive to create a warm, structured, and engaging space where students feel safe, seen, and excited to learn. My environment is built on high expectations, consistency, and positive relationships. I focus on fostering confidence, encouraging growth, and making learning meaningful and enjoyable for my scholars. It is important to me that my students not only succeed academically, but also feel valued and supported every day.

I love working at Purpose Prep Academy. I love the positive atmosphere. Our school truly uplifts scholars, celebrates their accomplishments and hard work, and supports diversity and inclusion. The environment is both rigorous and rewarding, and what I appreciate most is that we don’t wait until the end of the year to recognize success. Scholars are rewarded and celebrated multiple times each month. Purpose Prep is the true definition of “work hard, play hard,” consistently pouring into students from K–5th to ensure they are confident, prepared, and college bound.

Purpose Prep. celebrates both staff and scholars, which creates an inspiring and motivating workplace. I’m thankful to have some of the best parents a teacher could ask for, and I love the strong partnership we share to ensure their child receives the best education possible. Highly recommend!

Let me say that I have encountered some great teachers at this school! But….the amount of homework given to students is ridiculous! Homework everyday, on the weekends, and in the summer! It leaves a child little to no room for after school activities like sports, time to themselves, and family time. After long days at school everyday is to much! And it’s incentive based so in order to gain access to school activities you have to complete it all. I was told by my sons teachers that as long as he attempts to do it (even if its wrong) then he would not receive incomplete only to be given just that! Same thing for 2 years! Why lie to the parents and damage a kid. Unacceptable! The only reason I have not pulled my child from this school os because of co parenting and it being part of a court agreement

Purpose Prep is more than the school where I teach—it’s a community that aligns deeply with my values, my purpose, and my passion for education. To me, Purpose Prep represents opportunity: the opportunity for every scholar to receive a rigorous, high-quality education, regardless of background.

It is a place where we set high expectations, push for academic excellence, and believe that all students can achieve at the highest levels with the right support and belief in their potential. It is also a family—a space where relationships matter, where every teacher, scholar, and parent is part of a shared mission to prepare our students not just for the next grade, but for a lifetime of success.

Purpose Prep is where my own story and my calling as an educator intersect. It is where I can model perseverance, integrity, and the joy of learning—showing scholars that their dreams are possible and worth working for. Here, I am part of a team that is committed to changing lives every single day, and that is a mission I carry with pride.

This is the 3rd school my child has attended and by far the best so we are here to stay! My child has excelled tremendously in one year's time and I'm overjoyed to see it day in & day out. With such excitement to learn, going to school is a breeze! I feel as though Purpose Prep cultivates an invaluable experience that we would not/could not get from any other school. I'm honored to say that my family is a part of the Purpose Prep family! Thank you!!

Purpose Prep is a high-performing and vigorous school that meets each and every child where they are. They provide students with the resources to get every child where they need to be at grade level. Purpose Prep has been a great school for my kindergartener. He is excelling in all of his work. He is at a mid 1st grade level already. The school keeps the kids motivated and engaged with high energy levels activities. They have the children encouraging each other throughout the day. Purpose Prep is preparing students for academic excellence for years to come. You will definitely see the result from this school. We love this school and do recommend this school to all families.

The life school balance is extremely difficult. To have a child stress so much about a test that they are physically ill thinking about if they don’t do well what will happen is inexcusable. There must be balance between allowing students to be children and making quiet soldiers that don’t speak anywhere including the buses.

I could say too much, but this school is rigorous and tells the parents from the beginning what will be expected. Also, it is just right for what these students are doing.

They model these attributes, they talk about and chant about them daily. They encourage them in their speech with children all day, every day. They have a system that students are awarded for these specific qualities and they talk about them regularly! They even have children coming home talking about them. What they mean and sometimes correcting their parents. :)

High expectations for teachers, students, and parents. Very respectful culture. Their organization leaves parents knowing exactly what to do on Homework. Most parents don't ever know, it changes so often. Not here! It is very, very organized!!!

Posted: July 12, 2015

I am a teacher and I observe these teachers to better myself. These teachers are full action, all day, 100% focused on students and instruction! The way they teach is 100% positive, always require students to come to the answer (never tell them) The strategies they use get students to work hard, all day and most importantly BE Successful! Also, this is the only school I have ever witnessed the socio-economic and racial differences have NO effect on the children they serve. ALL students succeed at a VERY high level. This school is unbelievable!
