As a parent, you want your kids in a safe learning environment. Staff is always seen in the mornings and afternoons too, including the Principal. They are always engaged.
Academics is definitely the focus, and it shows in their expectations. High expectations and focus is a good thing!
This is why weve sent multiple kids to school here. Safety and academics are good but having fun is important too. Even teachers and Administration dress up, get slimed, and make it fun for kids.
If you like clubs and extracurricular activities, this place is for you too!

Ive had issues with this school since my child attended school in kindergarten., and each year I hoped it would get better but it didnt. My child was in the gifted program, but I had to fight to get him tested. If you make a mistake/get in trouble your behavior follows you like you are a inmate in prison. Then you are labeled as the trouble maker if you intelligently try to communicate with an adult. Either you do as your told, no explanation or they will write you up and label you as a belligerent child that has no respect for adults. It has been blatant racism in which a particular teacher would yell and scream at a child but would cauddle the teacher/principal kids. This school rewards perfect attendance and not the kids who attained the principals list for the entire 5th grade school year and it was only four for May 2022. Education wise, it was a great learning experience, but the damage from adults that are supposed to shape the minds of the kids are unacceptable. Not all of the teachers behaved in this manner, but too many were allowed to behave inappropriately. Last but not least, on the day of the out of town trip to Chattanooga, some of the teachers were finding reasons to suspend the kids so they couldnt go on the overnight bus trip in which the parents paid over $300.00 dollars. You signed a contract that if your child got in trouble any time in the 6month time span that you would forfeit your fees for the trip. My child was watched like a hawk, and I had already decided not to allow him to attend because of all the reasons stated above. Please way the pros and cons and make a decision according to what is best for your childs needs.

Love all the teachers and staff in WSE. The Principal is very hands-on. You can see him everywhere, from morning car line, lunch time at cafeteria, hallway, and dismissal. He is willing to take parents concern and suggestions.

My daughter was new to WSE this year, and got bullied from one of her classmates. I talked to her homeroom teacher and incident was quickly be dealt with. This boy received an In School Suspension.

If your child needs minor supporting accommodations, all what you would get is the hard time to voluntarily get out of their system. They rather prefer keeping their resources for unnecessary shows than providing real education services!

I visited 12-15 public and private elementary schools 3 years ago. This and one other were the best "combined score" for academic and social support. (I felt that some of the "best" schools failed at the latter.)

White Station Elementary is a great school. Mrs. Thomas and the teachers all have a heart for the kids to grow and learn. There is a positive environment of excellences that was missing from our old MCS. I love the parent involvement and encouragement to have parents participate in everything year round. My son has grown academically and socially. He enjoys going to school and has made either the principle's list or honor roll each semester.

We have been at WSE for 3 years now & love, love, love it! The faculty and staff are fantastic. They care not only about the education of the children but also work closely with parents to help develop the whole child. WSE should be a model school for our city.

We love White Station! Transferred so our sons could attend. Great administration, amazing teachers and very involved PTO. Couldn't be happier!

My family and I love this school. We were transferred here and the community and faculty are all great. They truly care for the school and all the students. I can see that my kids truly enjoy the teachers also. Which as parent is the most important part. Also, the principal is very friendly and cares for each student to succeed.

WSE has great teachers, administrators, and staff. The PTO does an outstanding job as well. The teachers really care about their students' well-being and success. My children have had a very positive experience in the three years that they have attended. The only thing that I would change is the lunchroom policy. While I agree that the students should not get too loud and crazy, I do think that they should have a little more freedom to talk amongst themselves during lunch.

I would rank White Station in the top 5 for elementary schools in Shelby County - public or private. The principal "gets it"; she is in the hallways every day, and is always available should a sit-down discussion be warranted to resolve an issue. The teacher are stellar and truly care about their students, not just TCAP scores. Highly, highly recommended. My child attends on a transfer, and I will be doing everything in my power to keep her in White Station schools through graduation!

My family has been beyond pleased with WSE!! The principal (Ms. Thomas) is fabulous and we have loved every teacher my kids have had! I'm a volunteer every week and the staff is great. Only complaint is the lunchroom- that dang noise detector light drives me crazy! :0) LOVE WSE!!!
