Islamic School Of Irving in Irving | Military Town Advisor

This school has ruined my mental health. Parents are willing to put themselves into debt to take their children there. It may be because of how this school describes themselves. they tell parents "it will save your childs life". Little do they know that it does the opposite. Our mindset in just about everything has been butchered because of this place. We are expected to be so hard on ourselves. They get mad at us for a 98% on an exam. They tell us to "be harder on ourselves". They say "growth mindset is promoted here. Such lies. If only people knew what goes on in our lives because of this school. More like "closed minset".

My kids have been to so many schools in DFW: public, private and charter. I finally decided to homeschool them because I couldnt find a school that was good enough for them. Then we thought about the Islamic School of Irving. That was the best decision we made for our children. This is our fourth year and we dont regret it. Weve been impressed by the dedication of the staff and the individualized attention every child is given. Its been a blessing Alhamdulillah. We have moved to Irving to be close to the school since our first grader still has a long way to go :)

My kids have been in this school for 7 years now. The school transformed over the years. With expansion projects one after the other, the school has now a state-of-the art gym and science lab. The athletic department is growing. Academics is taken seriously. Above all, the sense of community and welcoming environment are priceless to me and my kids. The administration is very professional and dedicated yet humble and down-to-earth. They are the embodiment of true leadership. Highly recommend this school if you want a safe haven for your kids to grow in character, spiritually and academically.

Islamic School of Irving was the reason we chose to move to Dallas TX from anywhere in the United States and the world. We had the choice of UK, Germany, USA or Singapore, but we were looking for school that would give our children a nurturing, well rounded and academically driven environment.
We wanted an Islamic education for our children yet still wanted them to learn the regular core subjects too. This was the only school that checked all the boxes and more. With its own gym, sports programs, robotics program, AP programs as well as numerous extra curricular activities, winner's of MAS tournaments, encouraging teachers and a love for the success of their students, this school has proven to us that we made the best choice for our children. Thriving is an environment of academic growth, love and religious education ISI staff and Dr Leila are steering this school into the top position of private Islamic Schools. There is so much love for this school, what I wrote is just a fraction of what good I see.
My children are happy, and so am I.

One of the best Islamic Schools we have seen. The teachers truly care about their students. The administration and leadership team are very receptive to feedback and want to make a positive impact. Special education is in its early stages but they are making a significant progress.

The teachers and school leaders work hard for education excellence and life balance for the students. My child enjoys going to school and like his teachers. They provide a balanced spiritual world view of life which is important for children of this generation. This school was our familys reason to move to Texas.
The teachers do care about the children despite parents expecting too much from them. Nevertheless, we are happy that our child has this opportunity to attend ISI under the current leadership.
The school is working/are currently working to extend this opportunity to include family with special needs. And I hope they will excel so no Muslim family will be left behind despite having a disability.

Posted: December 18, 2022

ISI provides a community centered approach to learning. A holistic support by parents, teachers and community leaders, ISI is fully commited in creating and nurturing a new generation of educated students. My experience at ISI as an educator has been that we support each other and help boost each other up. I have been inspired to come out of my comfort zone and become a leader for the students because I see the goodness and possible future this school has and I want to be a part of that. I am sure that ISI will one day become a top private school in the DFW area as with the current leadership in place as it is being guided in the right direction.

I agree with the review before about the new head of school. It's just my personal experience, I had terrible experience with her when showed herself as a very rude and bully person, who was trying to show that she's the boss or something, interrupting and not professional at all. As for me, thanks God, I can choose between what I want to do for my kids and what I'm told at supposedly their school. So, after having talked to her, I decided to withdraw my kids from there next day. I would not allow a person who's disrespecting others to lead the school where my kids go. It was one of the best decisions I made. The school itself is nice and has good intention, but hiring that person looked like a big mistake. God knows. I'm speaking only from my own experience. Academically it is also not bad.

The school is very good, not everything is perfect, but this is normal. The administration is very good. They communicate with the parents and respect everyones opinions. The head respects everyone and communicates with the parents personally and directly. The schools location is excellent and very safe, next to the police station and the public library. The school provides you with full time school , kindergarten, Pre-K and even the daycare. All the teachers are respectful and nice. My children love school very much.
School prices and fees are not cheap, but good compared to other private schools.

Don't go to this school literally terrible. The teaching is fine even though there's a lot of hw but don't even get me started on the staff and board. This is the first year of the head of school and she's terrible. She makes a bunch of new ineffective rules and tries to control everything. She's immature, rude, and to be fair from me and others personal experiences an overall bad person. An Islamic school should not have someone like this leading our school. Not to mention the teachers here LOVE to gossip. WOW such great role models for our young impressionable kids.

This school needs a strong principal and better Admin leaders. Most of us are not planning to return next year.

Posted: December 4, 2015

it is a nice school and everyone is united but it isn't perfect no school is so we should except what is being given to us

Posted: August 13, 2014

ISI is going in the right direction, excellent improvements lately, new Sup. and certified teachers, increase in sports activities and the new Multi Purpose Hall.

Stupid school. Hate it. There are bullies. Mean staff. Bad principal. I hate it here. Would give negative stars if I could.
