Incredible school. My kids have all thrived here and have enjoyed a non religious and co-educational experience in education which is rare in dallas. This is a school that focuses on student being a self advocate. The classes are rigorous- they dont brush the surface. They take the subject and go beyond the surface and teach in a very mindful way.
The athletics are good except for football. Many of the sports teams are top in their divisions.
Students are highly motivated and admissions is very selective here. If your child is able to get a spot her, you are very fortunate to be part of this community.

Greenhill School has been an exceptional educational experience for our family. Our child is known, challenged, and supported every day. The school strikes the ideal balance between rigorous learning and personal growth, helping students build confidence, curiosity, and respect for others. We are grateful to be part of such a well-rounded, forward-thinking school community.

My sons attend Greenhill and have experienced both lower and middle schools. They both love the school very much. The faculty and staff are always friendly and responsive. The education is at the top quality. Excurriculum activities are stellar.

Our son went there all 12 years and only had one ineffective teacher.

Our experience was tremendous. Sure, it was expensive but our son was over prepared for college. He's starting his junior year at SMU, is double majoring and has a GPA of 3.92 overall. We attribute that to the preparation and the critical thinking he learned while at Greenhill. It's not for every child. They do not do a lot of hand holding and expect a high degree of motivation and work but it pays off in the end. Cannot endorse the school enough.

Most classes just gives busy work that doesnt help

Science, math, language, and fine art teachers, plus sports are bad so coaching probably sucks too

Many students are over entitled and have no manners

1/10, Ive had a pretty bad experience at Greenhill, there were a few teachers that maybe helped my writing in the long run but looking back it was a pretty big waste of money and if you live in a neighborhood with a good public school, you can probably get your child to decent college without paying tuition for high school. Also greenhills Math and Science departments are terrible, unless you have a natural knack for it you dont really learn much, they also preach so much about the Triangle of arts, athletics, and academics but both arts and athletics are sub par. Lastly, the students I interracted with at Greenhill were terrible, I had a hand full of friends Im grateful for, however most of the kids are a bunch of hyper sensitive, really rich, over entitled, teenagers that have never been outside of the Greenhill bubble and think theyre so much better than everyone when in reality nobody really likes them.

A true learning environment where creative thinking is encouraged and scholarship valued. High commitment and involvement level of parents / families. Warm. Our child (lower school) loves going to school. Lower school students are taught both Spanish and Mandarin. The campus is beautiful and offers as much as many university campuses. (Including a soon to be completed world class performing arts center). We feel extremely fortunate to have been admitted here.

We had kids in all divisions - lower, middle, & upper school. Our thoughts: Good - Many excellent teachers in lower school; several great teachers in upper school; outstanding debate program with superior faculty, (smart AND nurturing;) Diverse student body - so many opportunities to learn about others Bad - Middle school hires bright minds with little or no professional training -- Result = lack of basic pedagogy (think 5-question exam;) Some staff simply mean-spirited (agree about Turlington;) Must disagree about Mindle - he pushed the kids, but he was kind -- ALWAYS available to help the students Ugly - Brilliant, happy, successful kids go into middle school - come out with terribly low self esteem; Many parents spend upper school years trying to re-build teens; Wish middle school could learn a few things from the other divisions Final Thoughts - Great place in early or later years

My child has gone to Greenhill since kindergarten and it was honestly a horrible experience. Most of the teachers were highly inappropriate, rude, and demeaned the students, especially in middle school with Mrs. Turlington. The kids are unhappy and cruel to others. The tuition is ridiculously overpriced. There are no positive aspects to going here. Stay clear if you want your child to stay happy.

Greenhill has been my home for the last 10 years, and I love it! It is a welcoming environment that is very challenging academically. Everyone here is very diverse in many things including race, religion and interests. It is a very special place to be.

The upper school is great! It is full of amazing teachers who really make learning interactive and fun.
