I gave these ratings because the learning experience was honestly underwhelming. Some teachers mainly read directly from slides, and when students ask questions, they sometimes seem annoyed rather than supportive. It also felt like certain teachers favored students involved in sports while being rude or dismissive toward others. Another frustrating part was being constantly told not to use AI, while some assignments clearly appeared to be created using AI tools themselves. If the school expects students not to rely on AI, teachers should set the same example. Regarding safety, I rated it one star because there were too many unnecessary drills, especially the “secure and hold” drills, which often caused stress and disruption. There were also students openly using inappropriate language in front of assistant principals, and it would often be ignored because they seemed familiar with them. Meanwhile, other students would get in trouble immediately for the same behavior. That inconsistency was frustrating to see. Another issue was the lack of guidance when it came to important courses and planning for the future. Many students are expected to figure things out on their own instead of receiving clear explanations or support from counselors and staff.

Some of the teachers are rude when kids ask questions during advisory or tutorials. They are not available and want to be left alone instead of being bothered by students with questions. Front desk receptionist who signs in parents is very rude for no reason.

The school only support students that are doing best but when they have issues that are emotional or academic, the school ignores or minimizes it. Everyone knows not to talk to counselors because they really don’t care. But let someone do something wrong or have an unexcused absence and the school is all over that. There are lots of bullies, but they’re popular, so the school does nothing about it. Even teachers hang out with the popular kids and treat the not popular kids not as good. Not a good place. I wish my parents would let me go somewhere else.

This school is more worried about their numbers. Teachers rarely reach out to parents very often. Some of the teachers are so young they should not even be in front of a classroom because they’re more concerned with hanging out with the teenagers than teaching them. Counselors and principals only reach out if there’s issues but when parents ask for help they respond. with silence or placating attitudes. You meet with counselors beg for help and they basically act like everything is perfect. I do not recommend Frisco ISD! It has gone extremely downhill and is falling right in line with the low, low educational numbers of Texas. School is not about tests and Texas needs to understand that that mentality is ruining their education system even more than it already is.

I regret moving to this school district. We had the worst 22-23 school year with teachers who were unreachable. My son struggled the whole year. They were better than this last year so I hope for all the other parents and kids that next year is better.

It used to be a great school with great staff and great support. After 2015 school started to decline in all aspects. Both of my kids went there and by the time my second child was graduating, I was so glad to get her out of there!
Athletics also has terrible coaches, zero talent, zero passion for the sports and for the players. Very sad

Great school. Great teachers and staff who communicate effectively and try to get the kids involved.

Posted: August 7, 2020

Most details for each class is online so its easier for parents to help their children get the stuff they need for each class.

Posted: August 7, 2020

Lots of communication. I knew within the first week if this was the right class for my child.

Posted: August 7, 2020

They have their statement of their core beliefs and it is reiterated in everything they do and the teachers/staff stand strongly behind it.

Posted: August 7, 2020

They have a great team that promotes pride and willingness to work together as a group.

My son attended all 4 years. Academically he is beyond prepared for college. It is very challenging and competitive. Very diverse. Tons of opportunities for sports, clubs, arts, etc. Extremely safe and no drug/ alcohol problems at the school.
If you do your research, you will see academically it's the best school in Frisco!

I'm currently at student here at Liberty, this being my third year. Liberty is very competitive academically and sports. Of course we have some good teachers and some bad, we have cut down on the drug problem and fights to where its very little or out of school issues. It's a great school to get different oppirtunites for the future, but you need to ask the right person (aka consular) for better information. I have to warn you though that it's very challenging to get a high ranking, and more work then it should be. If you are in the top 10% and are a student, you are in all AP classes plus mutiple clubs and other activites. It leaves the student exhausted and stressed, and honestly borderline insane. If your student (child) is involved in any out-of-school activites and/or a job, be warned that wanting a high rank will be very very challenging. We are crowded so competetion is high for everything. I have a high GPA and straight As and my ranking is not even in the top 50%. Great school, great education, just warning it's very hard to be at the top grades wise.

So many students are involved in so many things that majority of them have to drop just to manage. Some teachers understand and try not to give out so much, but others simple just don't care.

Thank you to Liberty HS teachers, coaches, principal and support staffs. My daughter was at Liberty HS for all 4 years and she was well prepared to college. The AP classes at Liberty HS helped her for SAT, ACT and did extremely well in first semester in college. There are good and bad choices every where we go. For one thing that we were glad we did 17 years ago is moved here with Frisco ISD. I know that HS and colleges are more competitive every year. However, hard works pay off soon or later. Hat off to Liberty HS teachers, coaches, principal and support staffs.

My son entered into Liberty High School in 2014. I feel course work is very intense and detail in every areas such as Biology, Geometry, Geography, Language. Students rarely get 7 hours of sleep time. Judging from my neighborhood students group, I can say competition is very high to stay in the top range. I will not fail to mention that teachers are knowledgeable and dedicated, and pay attention to individual student's need. I give A+ rating to Liberty High School, Frisco, Texas.

I have 2 kids in Liberty High School and have been very impressed with the teacher involvement. I have access to any of my kids teachers with the ability to be kept updated with any issues they are having with my kids. I am aware of failing grades before my kids are and I can take care of any issues early. I like that Frisco ISD has a Zero Tolerance attitude and sticks to it. I give this school an A+

Drugs in this school huge issue!!!! Teachers involvement is about 50/50 some good some bad. First 3 years my Son attended he lost a teacher each year due to lack of teaching. I would not move here and enroll my student into this school. Choose another Frisco HS but know drugs will be an issue at all of them.

I have two children who currently attend Liberty. I would caution any transfer student (particularly out of state students) to think twice and stay on top of the student counselor. She is completely disjointed when it comes to helping students take the classes they need to graduate on time and ensuring that out of state credits are weighed the same. When she finally does say something, its about summer school and she acts like that is the only option (when it is not). She really is more of a secretary than a counselor or advisor of any kind. Other than that the teachers seem to be very supportive and the other office staff is always nice and the athletics department is awesome in motivating and inspiring kids to their potential.

My son goes to LHS and so does my nephew. Academically it seams like a good school. My biggest concern now is about drugs. Both my son and nephew, different grades, stated that there are a lot of kids using drugs inside the school permits. They said they can even smell at 8 am in the hallways. I wish they could increase security . Other than that, its a good school.

Liberty High School its a great school!!! My daughter attended all 4 years at Liberty, and I'm very satisfied. I will recommend this school to anybody. We absolutely loved it!!!

There are some things at this school that I don't agree with. Over the past couple of years, the enrollment at Frisco Liberty High School has increased from around 1750 to over 2000. However, they have shortened the passing period from 7 minutes to 5 minutes; which, in my opinion, is a pointless change that provides zero benefit for the student who has to go from a class downstairs to his or her locker then to a class upstairs. It's rushed, and its crowded, and creates more hassle. As far as academics and enrichment goes, Liberty offers a rich assortment of clubs and activities. Students can attend things like talent shows and join clubs like the jewelry club. In addition, Liberty has several clubs like JWAC and DECA, that look excellent on college applications. When AP exam week rolls around, know that the AP teachers have prepared each student well. And each of these teachers has a high passing rate for their respective subjects.

I've been a student here for 3 years and I've been dying to get out. The administration focuses on all the wrong things. I typically have to teach myself because the teachers are terrible. And the students are very pretentious, and if they're not then they are into drugs and alcohol. We constantly have people getting into fights and it has been nicknamed "fight Fridays". The APs and principal are very oblivious and are lenient on things they should be strict on and strict on stupid things. Unless you want your son or daughter getting into the wrong crowd or hating high school then I would not send them to this school.

Great new school with excellent teachers and facilities. Teachers care about the students and want them to succeed.
