I would not recomend this school if your student deosnt now how to fight. This school allows all kinda of foolish behavor.Kids area llways starting DRAMA. The students do not speak kindly to their peersor their administrators. The dress code is UNBELIVABLE it is veyr targeted towards females. With tho only rule for men being that they cant sag and the teachers or administrators say nothing when a boys pants are on his knees. meanehilwe if even half an inch of a ladys stomach is showing she gets told to change and her parents get called. Girls cant wear any shirt showing their stomach, shoulders, or that has a low neckline. Girls area also not allowed to wear shorts that dont reach their knee or mid thign. As long as a girls but is not showing i find no reason to dress code them for shorts. WE area also not allowed to wear PAJAMA pants. iw ould not recomend this school to any parent.

As a former employee writing in good faith, I cannot recommend Barbara Bush Middle School due to ineffective leadership at the top. In my professional experience, the principal demonstrates poor management practices that negatively affect staff morale and campus climate. There is a noticeable disconnect between the principal and the student population, particularly given the school’s majority-minority demographics, resulting in limited rapport with many students. Teacher management has been inconsistent, with apparent favoritism and disproportionate reprimands reflected in evaluation practices. The principal’s role also raises concerns of perceived nepotism due to parental employment within the district, undermining confidence in fair, merit-based leadership. In contrast, the assistant principal consistently handles daily, face-to-face work with students and staff and demonstrates stronger on-the-ground leadership, yet holds significantly less authority. Overall, current leadership practices hinder the school’s effectiveness and potential.

Why the this school does allow bullying to the degree of people want to die or actually attempt, but somehow nobody notices. I watch people get thrown by their friends into others until people acquire bruises and other injuries. Then you have students bring bloody murder because someone they are bullying happened to be in the hallway. It's been happening for years and not just at the school it's the district it's the state nobody stopped in even when it was reported it is going to take suicide from others before anyone doesn't thing, more than those anti-suicide, anti-bullying, anti depression, presentations that nobody ever listens to. If nobody steps in people will lose it or start dying there's no reversing what's happened. please change it. Before there is more blood on your hands, not just the kids who self harm because no one cares and they are too far to quit, this is a plead for staff to actually do something.

This school isn't really special if you think about it. School fights happen here and there, drama can be let out, and the teachers/admin love to get on you for the smallest thing. It may be because they're looking out for us, but I really hope they're less strict next year because they're VERY strict this year all because of the kids from a few years ago. Honestly, I love everyone and everything here but I feel like it could be better if they were more chill with us. I understand they're doing their job but the principal is being a LITTLE too extra. No hate though, Ms. Tilley is the best. But seriously, they need to improve some stuff and hear out their students. Overall, this school would be fine for your kid but be prepared for them to be picked on if they're different from others, it's sad. But anyway, if you really want your kid to attend then let them! They'll find some good friends there even how harsh these kids are. REMEMBER, don't start any drama if you don't know to fight.

Some of the teachers don't understand this generation of children so they assume things or our work goes abracadabra and disappears who we left in our teachers presence but overall this is one of the best schools in Dallas or CFBISD. GO BRONCOS!

I haven't had any major issues with the school. The teachers are generally responsive, and the PTA is good. I'm actively involved, and I attend all of the parent conferences, field trips, etc. There are a lot of fights with the student body at the beginning of the year, but I think it starts to tone down after a while. The only teacher I've had an issue with is the new choir teacher, Grace Nelson. She appears to be very disorganized and not pleasant to work with.

My kids have been here for 2 years and I am ready to run, my kids will not return here. my kids state that the adults are worse than the children, they fuel the bullying at this school. There are more fights at this school more and more each day. From a parent point of view, this school is not safe for any child. The adults cant seem to control the fighting and bullying here but in fact they join the kids. It appears to be a huge turn around in staffing because I didn't recognize half of the staff from this year. I fee sorry for these children here because they are trying to learn in a hostile environment.

Approachable and friendly. Principal is have great vision for kids.

Posted: January 28, 2020

Extra classes before and after school. Parents meetings and report card reviews.

Posted: January 28, 2020

No bully policy is strictly enforced. Sports brings in lot of positivity and school sprit.

Posted: January 28, 2020

Very good. Kids are from all different backgrounds thriving to learn and grow. The staff and teachers are very supportive of it.

Posted: March 9, 2019

Many teachers are flat out bullies and/or racists. They use the fact that they teach at a majority minority campus to convince themselves they are not. They are in their positions because the principal is too. There good teachers, but most are low talent individuals who uphold racism, mediocrity, and bully kids as a means of classroom management. Then when kids call them out, the teacher's claim victimhood and try to make it the student's fault. They will encourage the student's other teachers to collude with them in a parent meeting to further falsify the situation.

Posted: March 9, 2019

This school treats children poorly. Students are talked to in a largely disrespectful way. I've seen the principal literally follow students that he is jealous of and he will instigate situations until the student cannot keep their compsure then he will punish them for having a justified reaction.

Posted: March 9, 2019

The principal's boss is also his wife so he does as he pleases which is usually at the expense of the students that are in thee most need. There are two types of teachers at this school: ones who work hard and ones who make work hard. The latter group is protected by the principal who curses at, yells at, and belittles the staff on a regular basis. He doesn't like to do his job of managing the staff. If you have a problem at work, and bring it to his attention he will retaliate against you by making your life miserable. He gets upset when he actually has to manage his staff, i.e. do his job. He is an emotional manipulator who commonly cries in full staff meetings, screams, yells and curses excessively. He uses strong emotions in the absence of strong leadership. He also mismanages taxpayer funds. Resources go disproportionately to his friends despite showing zero need or purpose while other departments are starved for funding.

Posted: March 9, 2019

Teachers are encouraged to differentiate instruction for all levels of learning, but the more capable students usually get all the veteran teachers and the below level kids get the first year and inexperienced teachers.

Posted: March 9, 2019

Teachers bully kids as classroom management so the students learn these tactics.

Posted: March 9, 2019

Deadlines are unimportant and the District requires retesting for students who do not pass regular classroom assessments and projects. It puts the teacher in an endless cycle of grading and inadvertently trains students to believe the get multiple opportunities to test. They will intentionally bomb the test knowing they get another opportunity.

Posted: March 9, 2019

I felt so bad for the students. So much potential, but leadership consistently snatches defeat from the jaws of victory.

Posted: April 14, 2018

They actually fuel it, if I’m being honest. They’re the ones yelling at us for no valid reason, and we act up, and they blame it on us because we feel injustice here.

Posted: April 14, 2018

I’d say my experience is bad, but not that bad. The academics and fine arts are good, but the staff can be disrespectful and controlling, especially one of the assistant principals who takes it way too far at lunch when we are barely even talking.

Over all not a good school, just the staff, the teacher are really the worst I had a teacher tell my child to back up like a dog. First year in middle school, then no crossing guard the kids walking to school, wont work with single parents, feel like kids can come up missing on a busy street. I live in Coppell the its makes a big difference on what side you live on..the crossing guard to elementary sits in his truck...just afraid someone child will come up missing just not a good school overall. Wouldn't recommend anyone child going there. my child does, but where else is she going to go and how would she get there. Not a good school due to the staff due to there authority, they take it a little too far.

CFBISD is an exemplary district. I feel some parents get caught up in certain superficial demographics and pass judgment too quickly. Parents I have met are engaged and highly involved. Most students are respectful and bright. Barbara Bush is wonderfully diverse in many ways.

The honors programs are exceptional and my sons 6th grade honors math teacher is terrific!

This school is an International Baccalaureate (IB) school and the aim is to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. Very inspiring!

Clubs and extra curricular activities are plentiful, including coding, karate, private instrument lessons, video game designing, athletics, reading groups and more! Get your child involved with other great minds!

The teachers send prompt notifications if there is ever a concern and grades are posted immediately on student/parent portals. Information is very transparent and up to date. Kuddos!

This school is the WORST school EVER.

Posted: August 31, 2015

1st four days were good according to my child until they have changed his entire schedule with much boring teachers. His new schedule have conflicts in subjects and there was no P.E class in his new assigned sched. His chosen Karate class was removed. He was even marked absent in one of his class because of the confusion of the new assigned classes. The one whom we talked to about the attendance has no compassion at all. She seems like she does not want to be bothered at all. She is rude and does not have a little bit of professionalism. We have been going from state to state bacause of my husbands nature of work, from all schools our kids went l,so far she is the worst ever we have dealt with. Hoping everything will be okay in the near future.

Posted: August 31, 2015

If problem arise, for example conflicts in schedule, teacher sought for help by students will direct students inappropriate solution by instructing them to go to this class instead of instructing the child to go to the right person to be asked about that matter which resulted of marked absent of the child. There are so much confusion in the new assigned classes/ period that if everything went wrong, the child will pay for it.
