They try. They know what they want to do, although struggle to effectively accomplish campus and student community goals. They are understaffed, and do not hold teaching professionals to high standards of accountability in their care of students emotionally and mentally.

I witnessed several teachers using threats of violence against students a strategy to combat behavior concerns. There were MANY behavior concerns with students, and I was very surprised that threatening students seemed to be a norm when dealing with behavior.

Posted: February 13, 2020

They have great aims, although struggle to effectively connect with students to alter outlook and behaviors.

There is a lot going on behavior wise. Differentiation is not part of the conversation when it is a struggle to engage a class as a whole.

For campus incidents. However as stated before, I do not feel restorative practices are effectively used to alter or improve student to student relationships.

My pk4 student had a good experience. Instruct coyld be more challenging and engaging for every student.

A complete living nightmare. Leadership is out of touch with the realities in the classrooms. The Superintendent and the Executive Director are out of touch with school. Student. Is behave and are disrespectful to teachers and abide without consequences. The Executive Director is more focused in looking himself good on paper but in reality the morale is down and teachers suffer in silence. Some teachers go home in tears. This is the last year my kids attended EGP. I am enrolling in Dallas ISD.

This school really cares about the kids and their families. The staff don't just have a "nine to five" attitude. They do what it takes to help all the students be successful. The instructional staff is innovative, working with one of the top bilingual consultants to develop an outstanding dual language program.

This use to be a great school!!!!! My son went here for 5yrs. and I started to see a change in the teachers they were selecting for that year. My son first grade teacher kept giving my son the same grade every report card and I spoke with her on how I could help improve him to an A, and she said she hardly, ever, barely give them A's and that made me mad. The old teachers were more caring and taught better than these new teachers. All they do is scream and hollow at your kids. I have asked over and over again for homework and all I get is reading logs and 1 PAGE a day for homework. I truly miss the old teachers there and hate I had to pull my son out of there. It really was a great school. I'm really sad to see it has went down like it has.

I just called the school and found out that the school can't use the youth center this year. It's finished, but they can't afford to lease it from Reconciliation Outreach? Why did the board member lie about that in a review? Does anyone at that school know what's going on? Why can't they pay the lease? Why don't they own the building? How long is this place really going to be around? I'm not surprised that they are "Academically Unacceptable" and they have a great schools rating of 1 out of 10 If I had know all of this before, I would have taken my daughter out sooner.

I am a first year parent for this school and after reading the reviews I can appreciate the honesty from a negative side as well as a positive side. If all the reviews were great or all bad then that would deter me from enrolling in this school because no school is perfect. We all can make improvements but it takes a group effort meaning Teachers, Principal, Students, and Parents. Discipline is the responsibility of the parent but the staff must also possess patience and empathy and understand that it will not change over night. Adults have a hard time changing themselves over night. It is great that the tuition is free but that should be irrelevant when searching schools, just because the school fits your pocket doesn't mean it fits your child and that should be what's most important. I don't think teaching is a SERVICE instead its a process that is used to educate OUR children. It blows my mind to know that a Pre-K was suspended on the second day of entering a new school. That is not an action that punishes or teaches the parent it actually effects the student who is still learning to understand the world. If that child was your Pre-K how would you honestly feel?

Good school this year, new principal and some new teachers, they are trying a new system in running the school this year. I love that they have Pre-k 3 & 4 all day for half day daycare and half day school for FREE is great. It is not always the school and its staff job to raise or correct a child, the parents must also be involved and follow the school rules as well. If a child does as he pleases at home and the parents allow him then it's not the schools job to teach them good attitude and proper Etiquette. I m grateful my child was accepted into PreK3 and I know he can get out of line at times so I have been working with him at home and have spoken with his teachers as well. The school has been growing and hopefully the change will help it grow more. Good to know that this school is available at no cost and if a parent feels they have bad service then maybe you should take your child to a private school where you actually pay money

I rate this school two stars because they have brought in a new principal and staff for the 2011-2012 school year. A pre-K student should not be wrote up on the first day, nor suspended on the second day of school from being a pre-K student. If so, the parents of that child should be notify of that write up on that day. That child is still in his/her stages of adapting to their NEW environment. I don't think they understand that this school also has preschoolers attending as well as older kids. The school is meant to teach the younger kids how to be a better student in the school environment. It does not benefit the children to be sent home as punishment for their undeveloped attitude and ways. There should be more structure and time allowed for disciplinary action with students, before resulting to suspension. Pre-K students need more attention then what has been shown this year. My kids have been attending this school for the last three years and I have never seen this type of discipline so yearly in the school year. He and some of the new staff make the school look bad. Wow, did my money pay for this bad service? (REFUND PLEASE!)

I'm an Aunt of a student... Well I have to say that this school is a breathe of fresh air. My niece has attended this school for 2 years now, so I have come to learn somewhat about it. She has great teachers who actually pay attention tot he behavior of the students. if they see the performance of the children changing they will take steps to make the child better and shine. Mr. Rubio and Mrs. Bullard are two awesome teachers. At first I was hesitant, but after seeing the way the staff & teachers love what they do, I am actually considering enrolling my 3.5 year old. This school is religious based and teaches dual language. I enjoyed the 2010-2011 Kindergarden class graduation which really ignited my fuel for information. The speaker spoke with such enthusiasm, and to see there was a wide range of ethnicity's that make up this school made it even better. Enrollment is up, as I was told, and there maybe a lottery. I look forward to seeing where this school goes.
