They customize each learning plan for each child. They have a small classroom environment in which they can really provide that 1:1 attention that each child needs. They are creative and try to make learning fun for the kids, which helps grow interest and retention.

Just perfect! It is enough so the child practices a concept, but not too much to where the child is resisting to do the work.

Yes, they work hard to build these life skills through their constant interaction with others. They help each child walk through the proper process and model positive responses.

They do an amazing job at customizing learning plans for each child so that they are able to grasp and learn each skill set. They work hard to make sure they understand what they learn and are having fun at the same time. They create a safe environment with these kids which builds self-confidence. An amazing school!

The Capitol School of Austin and Ms. Katie have been amazing for my son. Before CSA, my son was labeled as the "bad kid" that seemed to get lost in the cracks and dismissed in other school settings. Ms. Katie saw the my son was not a bad kid, but a frustrated child with a severe language delay and sensory processing disorder. She had been so patient with him and has thought outside the box to make sure he thrives. For the three years before CSA, my son had to be peeled off of me every day kicking and screaming because he didn't want to go to school. He is so excited to go to CSA and leaving us every morning is a non event. It's a dream for a parent with a child with separation anxiety. Ms. Katie, thank you for being so wonderful and giving my son the opportunity to thrive and rise to his full potential. You are amazing!

Our language stimulation classroom consists of 6 students, 1 licensed speech pathologist and 1 teacher with bachelor in special education. 4 hours a day of group speech therapy has been a game changer in our home.

Each student is accepted for who they are. Each student has different strengths and challenges. The teachers do an excellent job of focusing on the student's strengths and working on the challenges.

Capitol School of Austin, CSA, educates students with speech language deficits from preschool to 4th grade . Students typically have additional sensory challenges. CSA families live as far north as Round Rock or as far south as Kyle.

On a personal note, I cannot express how appreciative I am of the CSA for answering our deepest prayers. Despite seeing a speech therapist twice a week since 28 months, our son did not talk more than a syllable at age 37 months old. We found CSA after our son started throwing himself out of his lunch chair at his preschool. That was his way of communicating he was hungry.

Within the first week at CSA, we started hearing spontaneous 2 word combinations. In the first month, we were able to teach him to say "hungry." Three months ago, we measured speech gains in syllables. Now, we talk about number of words in a sentence.

The speech gains have been amazing, however the social skills have brought tears to our eyes. Our son would play just outside the group. He didn't understand his peers or how to play with them. The teachers have taught him how to interact and play with peers. At pick up, I frequently see him playing chase and cars with his classmates.

Most importantly, there's a new sense of calm and peace within him. He's happy. He's safe. He's understood. The school gives us the tools to carry the peace, calm and understanding into our home.

We can't thank CSA enough for giving us the gift of knowing our child and the hope that tomorrow will be better.

I don't know where we would be without Capital School! Our daughter started at 2 1/2-she could say about three words and was extremely shy. A year and a half later, she is talking up a storm and gets sad when she can't go see her teachers and classmates on the weekends. It's an amazing place.

This is a beautiful school that serves kids who honestly may have nowhere else to go to learn in a nurturing, accepting environment. All of the teachers are trained in speech pathology and in the short time we were there I saw marked improvement in the kids, including ones who seemed utterly lost at first. It would be nice if the public schools provided this level of attention and help, but they don't, and we are lucky to have this school.

Where to start...? Capitol School has been an amazing find for not only my child, but our family as well! Our move to Austin was specifically because of Capitol School. Public schools back home could not offer him the attention and services necessary to make a difference. Due to my son's Auditory & Visual Processing Disorders, along with other things, small class sizes became a must! Capitol School not only provides that- they provide an impeccable nuturing environment that is school wide! Their speech pathologists, who also serve as teachers, educate and encourage the students on a daily basis in such a way that learning has now become fun for our son and the everyday tears from years past are no more! That in itself has been a blessing! The entire staff at Capitol School possess an invisible set of compassionate wings that only their students and families are fortunate enough to know and experience! Our time here is limited, but our memories and the educational stepping stones that our child will acquire have far surpassed any and all of our expectations!

Capitol School is a private, non-profit school for children with speech and language difficulties. It is an amazing school and we feel so lucky to have found it! My daughter is in preschool there and she loves it. The teachers are speech therapists and ours has helped our daughter so much. They also understand and address other issues too, such as sensory processing difficulties. The very low ratios are perfect. It is a small school with a great sense of community. I really can't say enough good things about it!
