This school was great to me! It wasnt super pushy about religion like the school I go to now . But it still would tell us about it in a way our grade could understand! They had partys for holidays and the food was good to! They gave us opportunities to learn theater how to play recorder how to sing how to draw even had a science club one year! It was so awesome and I wish I could go again!

We love Sloan school. Our son has been there since before Pre-K and has so much fun learning. They use the Abeka system, which is about a year and a half ahead of public schools. They don't drown the kids in homework either. Some of the other private and charter schools are loved by the parents because of all the homework and studying their kids have to do, but there's a very high "burn-out" rate at those schools according to teachers. The kids are pushed way of hard by their parents and those schools. It's completely out of fear, too. The Sloan school trusts in the nature of the kid and nurtures that nature with at lot of love. My son's teachers from the previous years still hug him when he comes in the door every day, always excited to see him. They key to learning is both emotional and intellectual according to over a century of various studies and schools that specifically nurture the emotions. The kids also must be challenged but in a fun way that appeals to them. The teachers at Sloan School are very careful not to make anyone feel like they're less intelligent than anyone else in the class. Each child seems to be met at his or her level. They have Bible Verses they must memorize as early as kindergarten, and they seem to do really well at them. They have chapel every Monday with an assortment of other fun classes that happen once a week (Spanish, Music, Art, Gymnastics). I wish they offered gymnastics more than once at them week, as well as music, but it's difficult at a smaller school with only about 200 kids. Regardless, though, every day my son says he had fun at school that day (he's in kindergarten now, his fourth year at the school). I'm so thankful we have this school near by. We couldn't have picked a better school.

Very happy with Sloan School. My girls are thrilled to go to school to Mrs. Hoang and Mrs. Waldrum. Great team of genuine people.

Amazing school!!! It's a pricey but absolutely worth it! They have a great curriculum that challenges kids to give the best even at PK, they actively teach about the bible and Jesus, not just a little prayer at the beginning of the day. The teachers are great with the kids and you can see that everyone there, from the Principal to the assistants, LOVE their jobs and genuinely care about the kids. My son loves Ms. Katie, she is great!!

I agree with a previous poster. Office staff definitely not helpful. If you have an older kid, you go to the drive thru and its easy. For young kids, have to park in driveway. Usually no space so told to park on side and the staff refuses to park in the back so usually had to circle the building numerous times. I had to go to four different rooms (nap room, changing room, kitchen and classroom) to put away and pick up all belongings. No one helped. The people at the front rarely monitored what was happening in the back. Always said hi and bye with a big smile as I was struggling to carry a toddler and all belongings to the car, sometimes I had to park in very back while staff took the parking on the side. Very inconsiderate when I am paying over 900 a month in child care. No written daily report. I pay 360 for part time now. I get a written report, excellent service and my child is completely different. She used to be fussy and stressed when I picked her up. Now she is happy and more relaxed. Teacher had no floater or assistant with over ten kids. Where I am at now has a floater and there are only 8 kids. HUGE difference!!

I am not sure what happened to my last review. But I will try to type it again. My daughter grew at this school. She learned to read here. She was in Pre-K under Mrs. Katie. My daugther LOVED LOVED Mrs. Katie. The staff is very friendly. They speak to my child every morning by name. I felt a part of the school community. I am thankful for our time at Sloan School. I highly recommend this school to parents in the Irving, TX area.

Our daughter has had the privilege of attending the Sloan School from age three on up. I have absolutely nothing but positive things to say about this school. The office staff and the owners genuinely make everyone feel welcomed immediately. Teachers care about their students both academically and spiritually. I have recommended this school to others who are looking for a Bible-centered, caring school for their children. My child chooses to go here instead of public school. The ABeka Christian curriculum is great preparation for public middle school or for continuing on with another private school after fifth grade (Sloan School has babies through fifth grade). As for the other two reviews of this school, one quick read and I'm assuming that they were written by the same grammar-impaired, bitter person. Please do not be swayed by one person's opinion, even mine. Please arrange for a tour of Sloan School for yourself. You'll be very glad you did!

Teachers are very poor quality here ,super expensive school.Teachers and the front will not do a bit extra effort for anything ,Extremely lazy , unhelpful and unprofessional staff from back to front, they will say Hi ,Bye with a big smile though. Its not worth the check you write.

The students are not given enough food on feild trips such as chuck e cheese, in which the parents pay $8.50 a piece for their child. If the students ask for seconds, they are told no. The teachers then take the extra pizza's back to school for their personnal lunch. The kids are left hungry.
