Our experience at this school has been disappointing. Bullying is a significant issue, and the response often feels unsupportive toward the student being targeted. There is a stronger focus on enforcing uniforms than on addressing student wellbeing.
The handbook policies are not applied consistently, and it can sometimes feel as though certain families are treated more favorably than others. Communication with parents is limited, and school events are not always well organized.
In our opinion, this environment does not prioritize the best interests of all students equally. Families considering enrollment may want to carefully evaluate whether this school aligns with their expectations for safety, fairness, and communication.

Several years ago this was an AMAZING school! However; it really is so sad to see what it has become. We have now been removed 2 years. I usually don't write reviews but the difference our family feels on the outside is incredible. For years we thought maybe it was COVID, maybe it was phases our family was going thtough, maybe it was staffing transitions, etc. There are still some really great and sweet teachers here. Many unfortunately could not take it anymore either. I'm not sure how to turn this around as the beauty that was once here was remarkable. However; if you are on the fence or scared of public school. I would encourage you to take the plunge else where.

The approach to discipline, particularly the strictness and harshness, has been difficult for my child. It seems that the emphasis on quietness and conformity may be affecting the students negatively.
Additionally, I've observed challenges with the teaching of math, as my child has struggled with problem-solving during homework. Furthermore, the weight of the textbooks for first-grade students is a concern.
I believe that each child has varying learning speeds and abilities, and it's crucial to support them accordingly. It's disheartening to hear that only a few students receive significant attention and rewards, while others may feel left behind.
I hope to see positive changes in the school's approach to discipline, teaching methods, and inclusivity for all students.

We have been at this school for 6 years with multiple kids. The turnover is crazy and the leadership has steadily declined, which has also been the case for the school. It's definitely not what it used to be and seems to be intentional about weeding children out.

We could go on and on about this school but long story short expensive uniforms, strict outdated illogical rules, inexperienced teachers/staff. We have been here for awhile and it's always something. Our kid is always randomly failing and then we are provided a good explanation. They can't wear "outside jackets" when it's cold outside, it has to be "uniform". It's like the hunger games in there.

Throughout the time my kids have gone here, the education/emotional support towards students have declined. My son even developed nervous tics from coming here. A few er visits later and his mental health declining we finally decided to get him out of there. The uniform policy can be outrageous and if you are struggling financially it's not the best. This school is mostly about money and looking the part. My son is now thriving and all his tics have gone away and he is now a happy super bright and intelligent child.

Over the years the school has declined in education. There is no student support for activities and for your child to actually enjoy a somewhat typical school environment as well as excel in education. The education was great and then new leadership came on board over the last few years, changing consistently and promises not being kept. High school is a joke, there is not college readiness available or sufficient dual credit available. It is always about give give give and your students never get anything in return, not even a decent education.

If I could give this school a negative star I would. They try at the minimum to accommodate children with disabilities. My son has had the most horrible experience of his academic career. The children were mean to him. Some students have parents working here and will never see a consequence for their actions. He has been singled out over a zillion times for the actions of other children. The bias was a nightmare. If you want your child to be a pick for a "lottery" for state funding, please attend this school. Please send a perfect child to this school. One bad decision or behavior issue, they will wear a "scarlet letter".

I think the teachers should have more sensitivity training in dealing with the children. Telling a parent that your kindergarten student hugs to much or that they can't handle a sensitive child who tends to stay to themselves because they are not comfortable in your classroom.

I am so grateful that my child is able to go to this school as we were on the waiting list until just about a week before school started. The emphasis on character-building is almost as strong as the emphasis on academia. There is quite a bit of homework, but after an adjustment phase, my daughter is doing it on her own now without much help from me-she is in 1st grade. This school encourages parental involvement-almost relies on it-and I am so glad that my son gets to go also next year!

This is a great school. Everyone works as a team. My daughter loves this school. They communicate with you. Everyone seems happy. I was putting my daughter in private school, when she was accepted here. I am very grateful that she was able to attend Vista Academy. She is so Happy!!! Learning is fun again... This school is creative and fun. Donna

My son was in waiting list and later got selected.. This is one of the best schools I have seen so far.. They inculcate discipline on a daily basis and motivate students using points a based system. The homework seems a bit intense but i think my son is definitely learning something in first grade..and that its been just 3 weeks.

This is one of the best schools out there. They motivate children to get an interest to learn and also make school fun. My son wants to go to school every day. I love the way they organize the car pool during morning drop off and evening pick up. They are very effective and know how to run a school smoothly and awesomely

My three oldest boys have been attending Vista for the past three years. We love it.

We are so happy and relieved to have found this school. The teachers engage students with creative learning activities and all seem to take a personal interest in the kids. The environment is so upbeat with teachers who appear to love their jobs. My oldest child noticed a difference in the environment at the beginning and said the kids actually do what the teachers say so that teachers can actually teach. This is a unique environment since Vista isn't a default neighborhood school-- parents make extra effort for children to attend, and their involvement is clearly shown in the students' character.
