Very bad experience, we couldn't wait to move my kid out of the school. Art teacher punches kids by having them put their head on the table for reaming of the class if they misbehave. Teachers overwhelmed and can't keep up with the students progress. Unorganized and bad communication. Friendly front office staff

Me encanta la educación de esta escuela, solo le falta un anfiteatro y me gustaría tener un poco más de actividades familiares dentro de la escuela o poder participar más como voluntaria

I do not have a good experience for my kids in this school. Teaching is not good. Communication to the parents is very poor. Year after year the school's system is getting worse and worse.

HSI Carrollton has been a great experience for my kids after moving 5 schools across 3 states. They feel welcome, involved, and enjoy the STEM based education. The teachers and administration take the time to know the students and their families.

This school has been a great success to my children's education. After being virtual in the year 2020 they have made our return to in person classes as welcoming as possible. Harmony has helped my children grow mentally and physically , as well as making them feel more confident in themselves and especially in their education. They have gotten to know us as much as we allowed on a personal level without making us feel uncomfortable ,and unwelcomed with our thoughts and beliefs. Since the day we toured the building our children have felt comfortable expressing themselves about how they felt in the school.
Thank you for making our time at this school great!

Very Good, i love the school. My daughter has been in this school for three years now, the teaching materials and curriculum is advance my baby is doing very well compare to her peers. My only problem with the school is that they don't take bulling seriously.

After a year at Rainwater elementary in Carrollton, we made the switch. It was the right choice, teachers and administration go above and beyond, and my little one is finally being challenged! Behavior problems have just about disappeared in the classroom too, we struggled with that at Rainwater. I attribute the disappearance to both the academic challenge Harmony provides as well as a strong teacher.

My son has been in this school for last 2 years and loves this school. Academically, he has grown leaps and bounds. Teachers are experienced and open to new ways to teach.

The teachers and administration sincerely care about my childs progress. We came from a public Plano school that provided 0 support whatsoever for our child who suffered from severe adhd at the time. Harmony took him in and helped him succeed. He loves the school and has come such a long way.

No confidence in school's ability to enforce discipline. The tarty and attendance policy is ridiculous because it has no flexibility for real life situations. The parking lot in the morning is also a mess. It is a miracle that people are not run over, and the school does not seem to care.

I have read through these comments and they are all VERY accurate (with the exception of those that think this is a wonderful school). The discipline is ridiculous....the administrative staff is ridiculous. The phone calls that parents receive are for the pettiest things. I don't feel like my child is learning anymore because they are more focused on nonsense discipline than anything else. Teachers are using profane language with the students. Situations are NOT handled properly. Bullying is minimized by the staff. I truly wished more parents would go to the superintendent because the lower level is definitely a waste of time. These teachers could care less whether these students fall behind. They want their bonuses for STAAR results or they'll be fired......period. Don't see them progressing much.....petty, petty, petty school.

they dont even try to correct this issue. it is survival of the fittest in their hallways where 6th graders have to deal with 12th graders
Posted: February 8, 2017
any student who is different in any way is a target for kids and coaches
Posted: February 8, 2017
effective leaders do not let kids become victims in a learning enviroment
Posted: February 8, 2017
The school would rather put up with the students reenacting "The Lord of The Flies" every day in the halls and classrooms than risk offending a student or parent
Posted: February 8, 2017
Posted: February 8, 2017
the school has a great digital platform for keeping parents and students involved but it is poorly implemented by the teaching staff. Grades and assignments are not posted until the last couple of days before the end of the grading period

Bullying by students is unchecked and bullying by so called coaches is even worse

My daughter was bullied mercilessly, causing her to have therapy. Caucasian children are the minority. Favor is bestowed on non-Caucasian students. This school is owned b y a Turkish corporation. No one listened to us nor did the children doing the bullying have any consequences.
Posted: January 9, 2017
NO WAY.........they don't even think there is a problem. And it appears bullying is more toward the minority (Caucasian students).

There is a severe bullying problem at this school and it seems favor is bestowed more on non-Caucasian students.

While their brand new middle and high school building is nice and shiny, it is the Staff that promises to make this school a great choice. As a prospective new parent with a high school student, working with the Dean of Academics Mr. Coleman and the high school counselor Ms. Deniz, it was a pleasure to see them go to great lengths to ensure a strong academic schedule for my son. The School's flexibility and focus on an individual student promises good things for the school to come!

My daughter was at this school for two great years. We loved the school. It has the feeling of a private school. The teachers are great and the principal too. The staff really care about the student progress and they make you feel like family. You do not see or hear about drugs in the school which it is a plus. The school still needs to improve in the events and how to attract the parents and kids to get involved in the school activities , because they are not as well organized as the state's schools. Other than that, this is a good choice for your kid. I do not regreat.

This school is like a prison where students are just numbers. My boys been there for two years. The teachers are teaching only to the state exam rather than focusing on the child's needs. Both my boys are bright student and are in AP classes. They are also very socially active which is certainly an advantage rather than a disadvantage. At harmony they are punished for that and do not get the right redirection to help them make better choices. The teacher's approach is soooo disrespectful as they exercise their power with ugly words and gestures towards the students. If you want a school that truly builds uour child's character at all levels, this school is definitely not for you. I'm on the hunt for a new school!

I am a student at this school & I have been here for 2 years now. It is not how I expected it to be honestly, some teachers dont respect our needs of learning, which leads us to depend on other resources for academic studies. The dress codes is unnecessary, hoodies & boots are not allowed on campus... ARE YOU SERIOUS?! It is cold in texas especially during the winter, it's hard to find a jacket that keeps warm & that doesnt have a hoodie unless a cardigan but isnt quite what is needed for texas weather. Why does everything have to be a safety hazard?? It is really unreasonable. Some things in the handbook are respectable but others are just unreasonable with all due respect this school needs A LOT of changes in order to help us learn & educate our teachers, classmates, & ourselves. Thank you.

My kids had been with HSI for 4 years this year. It had to take for me to pull one of my kids out in order to get him what he needed academically/. He is a very sharp kid but yet very hyperactive and requires to be kept busy and challenged at all times. Had multiple attempts in trying to speak with both teachers and principal about this and never got anywhere. Huge disappointment with what this school has become.

I have been at this school for four years and so far I love this school. I am currently an eighth grader. The school was unorganized before, but that was because it was brand new. The teacher ate very helpful and sportive. This school is small, so the teacher focus more on you. The school does have a good discipline program. The school has very good test scores, and I believe it is because of the student determination. I love this school and I know that I will graduate to college, because of harmony. Since Harmony Pubic Schools won the Race to the Top grant they have improved and added Google Chromebooks to each student.

As a 3rd year parent of four children and a teacher, this school has been dynamic for my children as far as reaching outside of regular public school bounds to challenge my children. Even in areas of growth exist, instead of them failing one of my children without regard, they made sure he attended summer school for enrichment in the area of struggle. It is the best in comparison to many other schools in Carrollton/ Farmers Branch ISD.

My child has been in this school for 3 years, and it has been a constant battle. This school lacks any consistency , and the administration is very disorganized. Teachers are always leaving, making for an unstable learning environment for the kids. The final straw for me was their discrimination against girls, as boys are treated more favorably in everything from academics to sports. I had hoped that HSI would have gotten their act together after all this time, but sadly that's not the case. The ONLY positives for this school are (1) a lot of the students are focused and very hard working, and (2) the student body is very diverse. Apart from that, HSI has been a disappointment.
