The teachers are not only knowledgeable but also deeply committed to their students growth.

My daughter started here when she was eighteen months. We dont speak French but my daughter is fluent. Weve been with her in Quebec and Paris and the response from locals is unreal. The education is fantastic. Im delighted with whats shes learning and the challenges she faces in class. There are a lot of schools that provide a good even excellent foundational education in Dallas and DIS is certainly one of those. But here you leave fluent in at least English and French and most students have three languages. Many kids take Chinese others Spanish. But its incredible to see what these kids can do. Seniors go to very good universities in the US, Canada, and Europe.

A Dallas gem! Our children have become much more independent and confident since they transferred to the DIS preschool program. They absolutely love going to school (and that hasn't always been the case). The teachers are dedicated and very caring -- some of the most wonderful we've seen across several schools in the North Dallas area. The teacher/student ratio is among the best we've seen too.
We are not a bilingual house so it's very special to see them learn French and also, in our case, Spanish from native speakers while having a balanced U.S. curriculum. The kids have plenty of recess time and impressive exposure to the arts.
We are only familiar with the lower school but it's the perfect size for Prek and elementary, not to mention a tremendous value compared to other nearby schools.
This school doesn't have the swanky marketing or country-club atmosphere that are common at other private schools, so it's a bit under the radar. In that regard, it seems like most of the tuition goes back into the student experience and supporting the teachers (vs siphoned off to impress parents or prospective families with fancy events or collegiate-quality facilities). We appreciate that cursive and recitation are still valued at this school, given the benefits of these foundational skills.

We moved our pre-school aged daughter to DIS from a Montessori school because of the opportunity to learn another language at such a young age. The difference in the schools is dramatic. DIS is caring and also provides structure and curriculum that has our daughter coming home speaking french, and singing french songs. The teachers communicate well by sending daily updates, weekly pictures, and by providing the curriculum so we can reinforce what she has learned at home.
Everyone at DIS cares about our daughter; from her teachers and the teachers assistants that are with her everyday, to the receptionist that greets her daily - "Bonjour!"
We love DIS, the community feel, and are so grateful for the opportunities it will provide our daughter.

This school has been a godsend to our daughter. She has just flourished as a member of the DIS community. The teachers are incredible and care so much for every single student. We can't imagine our daughter attending any other school in the Dallas area. The education is just second to none and the community is outstanding.

I cannot say enough nice things about this school! The staff / administrators / teachers are incredible! Wonderful background for my son to be multilingual and make life long friends ! Great location. Recommend to anyone; we had multiple options and so thankful for the decision we made for our son's education.

Resources are stretched thin. Parents find the school disorganized. Communication has been a problem.

The good outweigh the bad. The French approach is different from the American.

Theres a lot of do as I say, not as I do.

Seems like everyones experiences are different. As long as youre not expecting more than a french education, its good.

The school has a pretty demanding curriculum, so they need to keep it at a good pace. They do alert parents where students could use additional help and provide ideas to assist. They, too, do their best to help the students achieve success.

The school takes bullying seriously and is proactive about it.

lower grades may be a fine learning environment, but if serious about high school and college prep that are far better choices in the Dallas - Plano area, Teachers are like revolving doors (they consistently fire the school in drives every year) and not engaged to ensure children are grasping content. So, so bad, especially for a private (paid for) education.

It is sooooooo great! You get to learn English, French, and Spanish. The teachers are very nice and it is close to Plano, Garland, Downtown, Irving, and Richardson. It is in Dallas.
