Taught at these school for 2 years and with a son attending for a year. As a parent and teacher would NOT recommend. Has gone through many scandals and lack of safety for students. Was forced to sign an NDA on my departure, which says a lot about a school. Thank you for your time and do ask that you research your child’s school, so they may have the best opportunity to grow and succeed in their future.

Ever since I brought my children to this school I have 2 continue coming and check around because of how much violence is here the councilors are very good at there job and help the other staff is just rude and Instead of helping kindly and giving solutions they have this ugly attitude I would change my kids from this school but at the moment I can't but next year they won't be coming here . The teachers are not paying attention and count my kids absent and when I go and try 2 fix it they just pass the ball around just saying it wasn't me or this or that and I understand that every student counts for there own actions but the environment here is so tense ur kids can't wear jewelry without fearing this school is very ugly . And there is a lot of gangs. And school doesn't do anything I have seen at least 5 fights and the staff no where around and they fight in school property.

Well im a curent junior in austin. I do adm8t it might be rough around the exterior. But what caunts is the extraordinary teacher that co excist with the student that put all their efforts in to givong us studebts the best educatiin they can give us . There teachers in the sc h ools that care for us to help us out through very sad moments in awere dramatic life . In conclusion austin high is one of the best schools that u can send ur child. Plus we got the criminal justice program

This schools as well as the majority of schools in El Paso is subpar at best. The only thing keeping most of these schools open are the magnet programs. If your child is not in one of these programs I am sorry to say that the education your child receives will not meet even the lowest levels of expectations. Don't be fooled by the talk of change. Please be very particular about the school you choose to put your child in. This is definitely not the one you want. Trying to figure out how and where to transfer our child now.

Looks neat and clean...has a good sports program.My grandaughter studies in this school and says that is a very good school.Looks very well organized.

I have experienced many disturbing situations at this school in the 4 weeks school has been in session. Most of which I ignored out of the understanding that this is a new school and I need to give them a chance. Of my child's 8 teachers, myself or my husband have had the opportunity to meet or speak with 4. Of the 4 his basketball coach and his criminal justice teacher seem to be the only 2 interested in my child's education. Upon meeting his Spanish teacher in person, I was greeted with what do you need to talk to me about, not good morning, hello or even how may I help you. When I contacted his English teacher because his grade was dropping, she seemed to be more concerned with if I were calling her a liar, rather than how she could help with the mutual responsibility of fostering a good work ethic in my son. It appears that the teachers at Austin High School have other things on their minds than teaching. My son wanted to attend a law program and this was the only one in my school district. This is the only reason I allowed him to attend Austin. I never encourage people to listen to hearsay, although in this case I wish I would have.

Today I was at Austin High School registering my junior. I had been there in the morning but did not catch an error until later and had to return to have my son's schedule fixed. Well, as I was sitting at the table, feeling a little disgruntled, the nicest lady walked over. And when I tell you she was not only professional, she was genuinely caring, she was very attentive to my son's desires as far as what he wanted on his schedule. She totally erased any and all concerns regarding my son attending a school that was not a DoDDs school. I knew she was there to help and meant everything that she said to me. I am very thankful that my son will be attending Austin High School. The staff is a class act and hard to top!
