We send all of our kids to St Timothy's. This school is a hidden gem in a city with a lot of expensive private schools and severely lacking public schools. The teachers are very effective at teaching the kids to be academically strong but more importantly, how to have moral character. We plan to have our kids attend through high school graduation.

The school is not set up to take on severe learning differences, but the low student-teacher ratio allows for students who struggle with learning to find their way with a lot of tutoring and help.

There is very little bullying at the school. Some of that is because of the types of kids and families here.

The understands the purpose of homework, and its place within the life of the child and family. The right amount and the right kind of homework has produced good things in my child.

The school frequently speaks of the 6 R's: Reading, wRiting, aRithmetic, Respect, Responsibility, and Resourcefulness. Many of the faculty are priests, and all are committed members of the church. A student's character is at the top of the school's priorities.

The school sticks to what is important. Not a lot of frills and extras. This allows administration to focus on academics, school culture, and student formation--it also keeps tuition down. :)
