VR Eaton provided a learning environment that made my daughter, who did not like her previous high school, happy to go to school again and she has been excelling ever since. She got accepted to a couple of her college choices and ended up going to TTU on several academic scholarships.

This is one of the worst schools in the area. Fights every day. The administration is very micromanaged and they don’t care for the students. Please avoid this place at all cost!

I have one child in Eaton and one in Peterson (elementary) and I’m very impressed with both.
We’re from ny. These schools are sooo much better than where we came from
My high schooler is doing much better here. There is wayyy more emphasis on learning than our last district. She cares about her grades now and shows a lot more initiative.
There are fights in every high school but seems there are also less fights here than our last district. Same goes for drug use / vaping. It’s GOING to happen no matter where you are.
But the price of lunch is RIDICULOUS in this district.

Eaton helped our family navigate my oldest sons education as he went through serious medical issues from 9th through 11th grade while dealing with Covid shutdown as well. We had meetings on what his needs were and I had great communication with the staff. My youngest son then attended and is doing fantastic. He loves this school and in the aviation program. He is succeeding & putting in the work as well as the teachers. When I go for early pickup, the school doesn’t let you in and you have to show I.D and even with that I wait outside for him. I prefer this. With everything going on these days any extra security measures I will support. Overall we have had great experiences with two boys going to this high school.

Poor. First of all- notice only “community members” providing excellent reviews. Interesting they are not from parents so what is there interest here? I would guess they are administrators or teachers. For a new school with two academies in this school district you would expect better leadership and control. Another parent said it well, they cover things up. I agree 100% and its sad to know I am not the only who sees this.

Posted: March 1, 2020

My child barely gets homework, if there is work its what wasn’t finished in class.

Posted: March 1, 2020

Its really like they’re there for the paycheck. They can be ineffective, rude, and do not communicate with parents if when there is a problem.

Posted: March 1, 2020

Violence, drug use, vaping illnesses. Teen pregnancies. Attitude and inappropriate comments or behavior by teachers are not addressed, they stick together no matter what, no wonder the culture is bad for the kids. There is no accountability and no integrity and ethics being taught.

Posted: March 1, 2020

There are physical altercations every week at this school. The level of hostility and violence is unusual for this district. There is drug use and vaping during school hours. Leadership have no clue what the teachers are doing, there appears to be no oversight. There is a culture of no inclusivity taught or displayed, there is tolerance for bullying, and overall a lack of discipline and control by teachers and leadership.

Posted: March 1, 2020

My child hs a 504 plan and the teachers were never accountable for ignoring it and no meeting was ever scheduled except the one I had to request because a teacher wasn’t following it. Its like it doesn’t exist.

Posted: March 1, 2020

Physical altercations occur regularly if not weekly. I observed a mother get bullied outside of school one day by teens she didn’t even know. Police were called for that. They’re often called during the day.

This school is terrible. They try to cover up anything that would reflect negatively on them. The admin likes to deflect from important issues and the leadership in the building is lacking. Too many teachers and staff just there to "collect a paycheck". I can't believe that this school even has the positive reviews that it does.

OUTSTANDING HIGH SCHOOL! Don't be fooled by the incorrect overall rating. Next year when there is data have a progress portion of their rating, expect this high school to rate similarly to Byron Nelson.

This is been an uphill battle with the school. There are teachers that will honor the requirements in class for a student with needs. However there are teachers that completely ignore protocol when it comes to issues with learning disabilities.

Posted: May 18, 2017

The teachers need to communicate more efficiently. They give out far too many projects that are all due around the same time. This happens occasionally but enough that it's concerning for parents and students.

Posted: May 18, 2017

This is a new school so there's a lot of adjusting to do. However there are some teachers that just don't get it and should not be teachers.

Posted: May 18, 2017

It's hard to build respect between students and teachers, when certain teachers show no respect at all. Many teachers find faults with students when there is no fault. I know when my child has screwed up and I expect her to fix her mistakes. But when a teacher continuingly harasses a student over something frivolous such as a pair of shorts or her bra strap is showing one would think that the teacher has more interest in fashion then teaching. Plus this particular teacher has allowed the student to wear the same clothes all your long without saying a word and then decides 3 to 4 weeks before the end of school to start throwing a fit about what the child is wearing. If a teacher cannot be consistent with their rules then they should not be teaching at all. There are several other teachers that show lack of respect for the students as well. When I was young my dad used to say "you want respect you have to earn respect regardless if you're the adult or a child". It's a two-way street however with this district or these teachers or the school it's a one-way street.

Overall my student has had an OK experience. She will be a junior next year and we shall see how it goes from there.

Posted: May 5, 2017

The leadership is more concerned about reaching their 98 % attendance goal then they are about the education and success of the students.

Posted: May 5, 2017

Grest schools said it best ......Big differences may suggest that some student groups are not getting the support they need to succeed. Students do not get the support they need to succeed.

Posted: May 5, 2017

The assistant principals, under the leadership of the principal, are the ones doing the bullying. Seek council early on.

Posted: May 5, 2017

Horrible. My once confident child now suffers with low self esteem and anxiety after only one year at this school. Choose wisely, we thought we had. We were once excited.....now disappointed. My only hope is that this review helps another parent and their child along the way.

Some were great and helpful others were indifferent.

Posted: May 5, 2017

The lack of compassion and respect by the leadership team results in the students modeling the same behavior.
