(For perspective I’m a type one diabetic) The nurses and most of the teachers are very accepting of my 504, but there are a few teachers that try to skirt around it. The facilities are mostly outdated, with presence of mold and decay. The extracurricular programs are under funded, with some students having to pay upwards of a thousand dollars, however they do not lack variety in their programs. Overall a pretty mid district.

As far as school districts go, FB goes above and beyond to give kids so many different types of classes that are far more advanced and inclusive of different lifestyles and opportunities. My kids learn about their city, state and surrounding wildlife and environment, special activities and interests that are not at any other school (what other schools teach kayaking and fishing while also offering robotics clubs and highly successful JROTC, sports, and math/science teams that compete at high levels?), advanced academics beyond everyday teachings whether it's science or welding or math, etc and actually prepare them for life after school whether it's college (they offer prep courses) or trade school or straight to work (my daughter has certifications in welding and electrical she earned while attending FB thru a trade school). This school district is amazing if kids take advantage of what is being offered.

This school district wastes resources at a level that is criminal. They built a beautiful natatorium but the rest of the school looks like a prison camp. Their priorities are out of whack. They complain as an administration that student cell phone use is out of control but yet they won’t set a policy against their use. It’s a very sad state of affairs at Flour Bluff. Not satisfied at all in this district

I give this school, and the entire district, zero stars. As someone with extensive experience with this district, both as an employee and a parent, I can rightfully say that the leadership is the poorest it has ever been. Not to mention that almost every administrator is of entirely of one race, never hiding the fact that they favor students and parents of their same race. In the last four to five years, several highly qualified, motivated, and experienced teachers and staff members left the district because they were often told to keep their opinions and ideas to themselves. Furthermore, any teacher who tries to implement change based on new knowledge acquired in a master's or doctoral program is quickly run out of the district. Once considered a model school by the community, local university, and junior college FBISD has now become the example of what poor leadership can do to a once thriving district. If you have a choice, do not enroll your kids in this district, you will be very disappointed.
