My daughters have been at Solar since PreK and are now approaching middle! We are so happy to be a part of the Solar community. The teachers have been exceptional, and the parents are also very invested in their children. This makes for such a wonderful community! Seeing the girls at sisterhood circle is one of my favorite things and almost always brings a tear to my eyes. They are doing great things at this school.

This school does not live up to the hype. Admin and staff have favorites which are usually the kids of parents who are always up there volunteering or who donate heavily to the school. These students are always featured in photos, get preferential treatment and win all the awards. The mean girls, bullying culture is rampant and admin does nothing about it. They claim to be kind and inclusive but they are the opposite. Girls who stand up for themselves get excluded and scapegoated. Popular girls and their rich parents run things at this school. I doubt the founders had this in mind when they created this place but its the sad reality.

So I used to go to solar and it was TERRIBLE it was so bad I had to move schools. The principle doesn't take anything seriously at all. Downplayed the bullying that happened to me and I was called CRAZY?? Only helped me once I was admitted to the psychiatric hospital. If you have a vulnerable child don't go here.

Solar Prep continues to impress me at every opportunity. My daughter is in the Dual Language Pre-K program. It has been an incredible year already. Her teachers - Mrs. Reyna & Mrs. Arellano - are amazing. Mrs. Gonzalez and Mrs. Garza from the other Pre-K class are too.
Volunteering with the school has given me an up close look at the school - curriculum, events, projects and field trips. All of which exceed my expectations. The teachers who welcome the carpool line, the office staff, administrators, music, sports, art instructors - every single person Ive met and interacted with is kind and supportive.
Parents whose daughters have been here for years all have great things to say as well. Were super lucky and proud to be Solar Trailblazers!

Solar Prep is an amazing school! If every public school had the same model for education and students, our world would be better for it. We are so grateful to be a part of this community. Highly recommend Solar.

I'm just going to review the school anonymously real quick.
This school is great for learning, the teachers are kind, for the reputation of the teacher I won't be going into detail, but I would like to comment on how bad some teachers are. I remember once that a teacher asked if I even knew what the talented and gifted class was, and proceeded to tell me i didn't belong there. The students are toxic, the teachers do nothing but punish the student who doesn't deserve it in my opinion in my experience. Alot of kids went in and came out rude, most children are bullied since kindergarten to however long they are there. Alot of toxicity from certain teachers *and* students. Other than that, this school is good for your children to learn, as they teach atleast average, if not above what the state requires. I do hope if anyone realizes they do not want to send their child here due to the bullying, the standards, the racism from students,, etc etc that they find a different school. Overall, I rate the school 6.5/10 from the 5 years I've been there.

My daughter is a founding Solar Scholar. She will be in the first graduating class! I love education she is getting. She is dyslexic which her first teacher spotted and got her put into dyslexia classes. She did so well she scores in the 94% in reading! She also has ADHD which was diagnosed last year, and the teachers and counselor made sure they did everything they could to help. The communication with me from her pod of teachers is always consistent and thoughtful. Is there drama? Of course, its a school full of girls. I will say the school goes above and beyond to teach emotional intelligence which makes a huge difference.

This school has been the best experience with our daughter. It emphasizes and environment with strong leadership (especially the amazing principal) and academic focus combined with a STEAM focused atmosphere. The girls are so stimulated with positive energy during sisterhood circle.

My daughter got in trouble for defending herself and was accused of starting fights when she would only react.

The teacher I had for my daughter was passive aggressive and hard to trust. Yiu have a kid with a disability and instead of being patient and understaning, they tried to get rid of her. The other teacher played mute and never talked nit even hello. The Principal is tge worst and so is tge counselor who attacked me at tge very first ARD meeting. I had to get an advocate and social worker to come to another meeting and prior to that I was told they could not accommodate my daughter and was told DISD would find another school which never happened. The special education teacher is fake and I couldn't trust her either, I don't believe she even did her job. This school really disappointed us.
