ILSIA has been an amazing experience for our family. What stands out most is the strong sense of community and the intentional way the school supports each child’s growth. From the moment you step on campus, it is clear that this is a school where relationships matter and students are truly known as individuals.

The teachers are thoughtful, caring, and deeply invested in helping students succeed both academically and personally. The school’s commitment to the IB approach encourages students to think critically, ask questions, and become confident, well-rounded learners. The rigor is real, but it is presented in a way that keeps students engaged, motivated, and excited about learning. There is a clear sense of purpose in the way instruction is designed, and it challenges students while still nurturing their curiosity and love of school.

Another thing we appreciate is the visibility of the leadership team. The administrators are present, approachable, and it is clear they know the students well, which adds to the welcoming and supportive atmosphere across the school.

We also value the strong communication with families and the feeling that everyone is working together for the benefit of the children. ILSIA may not be the biggest school, but that is exactly what makes it so special. Students are not lost in the crowd—they are known, encouraged, and challenged to grow.

We are grateful to be part of a school community that truly puts children first. If you are looking for a school with a caring culture, meaningful academic challenge, and an environment where every child matters, ILSIA is an excellent choice.

It is important to acknowledge that as a charter school, ILSIA faces unique challenges. The teachers often earn less than those in traditional districts, and the school receives less funding. However, this only highlights the incredible dedication of the staff. It is abundantly clear that the teachers are there because they truly want to be. They are deeply committed to the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework and are fiercely dedicated to the success and well-being of our children.

While the current building might not be the most "visually appealing" facility, it serves as a great reminder of our priorities: our students are there to learn, not to look at the walls. The quality of education and the strength of the curriculum far outweigh the aesthetics of the brick and mortar.

We are incredibly excited about the future as the school actively searches for a new facility. We have high hopes for the upcoming expansion into a middle school and can’t wait to see this community continue to thrive. If you are looking for a school where your child is known, loved, and challenged, ILSIA is the place to be.

Highly Recommend! This is an amazing school. Love the IB way of teaching. Great and caring teacher - very communicative. Extra language classes, right from kindergarten, is a big plus. Our son is always excited to go to school. Lot of after school activities as well.

This is our 3rd year with LSLA and both my kids are thriving!! We love the school and the small child/teacher ratio. Hope they can expand to middle school as well as this school is only till grade 5.

We are very happy with this great environment! My daughter is academically enthused and challenged. Very nurturing staff. We moved her from a great school and worried that it may not be a good fit. Best decision for her academic foundation. !

My daughter is in first grade at Lone Star and has attended since the beginning of Kindergarten. Our experience has been nothing but positive. My child has has shown the evidence of learning through the IB curriculum and we are continually impressed with the concepts she is learning. The staff and Administrative team work tirelessly to make sure that the children the children are applying the concepts of their learner profiles and practice the appreciation of diversity and inclusion through their lessons. All staff members have contributed to a positive experience and they are always responsive and attentive to any questions or concerns I have ever had.

Ever since Lone Star got new management amd became an International Baccalaureate school, it has gotten better and better. The change was difficult at first because IB is very different from
a regular school and it is very rigorous. But I’m always amazed by what my son is learning. He is learning things (and in ways) that he wouldn’t get at our ISD. There is a caring, responsive atmosphere. The director is very accessible and all the teachers have been very engaging while holding to high standards. Other families are nice, too!
I love that my son gets Spanish all throughout elementary. This is a true benefit.

The building is a bit small but what you get within the walls of that building is more important.

This school is a relatively new charter school and experienced some growing pains. The board decided to fix things, Chios new management company (Imagine Schools) and switching to International Baccalaureate. This has taken some getting used to but I think it is a good thing. It can be challenging but not excessively so. Covid which brought with it all the issues of virtual school. Still, the school has looked at its past problems and I think they are improving. Teachers are dedicated. The community is close, friendly.

Very very worst school in town. My son has been repeatedly bullied by his classmates. I feel betrayed that I.m did not believe my son initially. He lost his confidence and got very scared. He was hit in stomach by a kid wearing boots. And he bumped his so hard on a iron board in after school care. The teachers did not notify me at all. My kids head got a big bump and was like that for months. The Spanish teacher is the worst. My kid did not learn anything in Spanish language. No good curriculum. He is also a rude guy. He did not even wish my kid when my kid said that it is his birthday. As a teacher, you can imagine how hard it would be for a kid that his teacher not even uttering a word. His math book is as new as as it was given in the school year. I can actually put it for sale as new. School is predominantly controlled by one sect of kids and one sect of teachers. Very worst experience.

If I could put a negative number of stars I would. This school is ridiculous! My 10 year old came home and told us that the school was taking away nearly all of recess and that they needed to not tell there parents! Can you believe that a school would tell a child to keep something from his parents? Then my 8 year had another child tell him that he was going to follow him home and kill him in his sleep. The kids here are out of control, and telling a child to lie to his parents is unethical and down right wrong. I plan to fie a complaint with the Texas Board of Education.

While the teachers our children had at this school seemed nice enough, they all seem to be very new teachers with very little experience in teaching. Also had a teacher at the school tell my child that the school is doing away with most of recess, and to not tell parents?!

This school does not seem to develop much of anything

When we removed our kids from this school, no one in leadership even bothered to ask us why.
