They keep tryna profit off of the students parents money and the staff are extremely disrespectful. They never change the food and the food is mass produced. Do better.

Very bad school. It is infested with ugly cockroaches and the kids in this school need to learn to shut up. There are barely any actually good teachers and this one computer science class has made me cry so many times. Go here if you want to fail all your classes even when you're trying your best.

Hays Middle School is HORRIBLE! They make the students stress SO much, and the teachers do not teach! The teachers speak in a monotone voice and do not help when you ask. They give detentions for the most pointless things. Of course, some teachers are nice but this is rare to find. I wish the teachers would care more and understand the students as individuals. My friends often complain about getting detentions for no specific reason. The teachers pile homework on us, and when we get bad grades they blame it on US. Do not take Computer Science, the teacher is horrible and I have cried multiple times because of her. TAKE IT FROM A STUDENT- the stress of grades and work is unbearable. There are also ROACHES EVERYWHERE and WASPS!!!! On the ceiling, dangling, going on students, and the cafeteria food is dry and bad. The lunch ladies are very mean. Go to Frisco if you want easy work and wimpy schools!!!!

As a current teacher and parent, I am very impressed with Hays Middle School. The student population is respectful and studious. They care about their grades.
The teachers work hard to provide quality content and engaging activities. The administrative team lifts up and supports the staff while carrying forth district initiatives.
The district offers interesting and innovative courses and programs that aren't available in other districts. I'm grateful my son is attending this school and chose it for us both.

Don't go to this school if you're too scared to get in trouble. I got detention for "talking" during class even though I wasn't the one talking. I tried telling my teacher but she wouldn't listen to me. I told the boy who got me detention that I would tell the teacher it was actually him talking and he was freaking out and begging me not to tell the teacher but I said no and ended up telling the teacher who didn't listen to me. Then last year the boy behind me was laughing and his laugh sounded muffled because he wore a mask and at the time I had a cold so I sounded a lot like that boy, hence I ended up getting detention for "laughing." Along with that the teacher kicked me out of her class and made me stand outside in the hallway where everyone walking by made fun of me for getting in trouble. The teacher's at this school are so stupid and bossy. I swear all they know how to do is give people detentions. You probably don't wanna go to this stupid school if you're too scared to get in trouble because I'll tell ya something, even if you're the good student you're probably gonna end up getting detention for something stupid you didn't even do like me, because I'll tell ya what. I'm a straight A student who doesn't seem like the type of person to get in trouble.

I am a student in Hay Middle school currently. My learning experience is HORRIBLE. I get so bored with the teacher. She is always on her phone during school and tells us about her drama and stuff. My elar teacher, is so mean. She always picks on students and she always gets mad. She always favoritize students. My math teacher is so weird. She also does not care about anything. I try to explain to my mom how horrible my teachers are but she does not believe me. I always see people fight and swear. EVERY SINGLE DAY. Just a reminder, I hate all teachers. They are either mean, horrible, lazy, or careless. The only good teachers are my lovely Mrs. Lorizza! She is the best theater teacher. So is my photojournalism teacher. He's cool. I hope my math, elar, science, teacher leave to Jones. My social studies teacher is cool too. She

Currently Hays has just shy of 2,000 studentsÂ…which is about 800 kids over capacity. The district needs to do a better job in building schools along with the growth instead of catching up to the growth.
In general, teachers are judged so harshly. They are just humans trying their best to teach a generation of kids who are very inconvenienced by their education. Students are not afraid to curse at and be extremely rude to teachers for them trying to do their job. I assure you, the children’s behavior isn’t a Hays thing, it is a ‘in every school’ thing.
Overall, students at this school are provided with more opportunities for academic growth than most other schools would have to offer. Many of the teachers truly care for their students. I have never seen so many teachers go above and beyond for their students; trying to make a lesson as engaging as possible because they know school can be the worst. Teaching kids social and emotional skills along with their actual academic subject. Providing students with a safe space in their classrooms when they need a break. Opening their classroom for students to eat lunch because the cafeteria is overcrowded and chaotic. Providing food for students in need. Allowing a kid to lay their head down because you know that kid didnÂ’t get sleep last night and their mental health is more important to you than some assignment.
Teachers get burnt out having to continually monitor and correct students behavior. It is also very challenging teaching students who couldnÂ’t care lessÂ…even when teachers spend days working on an exciting activity for studentsÂ….just to have the kids complain about doing any work at all. Then complain about the prizes you got for them with your own money for winning or participating in the activity. Then complain about how bored they are. Complain when you ask them to take out their headphones during a 10 minute lesson. Complain when they donÂ’t get to just chill and socialize for the whole class period. Complain when they have to work in partners or groups. Complain when they are corrected for basic behavior and expectations in the hallway and classrooms.
Teachers are only human. I have 3 classes with 34 kids in them; in total I have just shy of 200 students this year. We do the best we can given the circumstances. The students I teach arenÂ’t just my students, they are my kids and I do my absolute best to show up for them everyday. Most teachers at Hays do and that is a fact.

Kids are constantly getting in fights and the school is quite dirty (roaches are everywhere). When a kid actually thinks something might be wrong with their mental state they are ignored. Children who are not understanding material that is being taught are dismissed as if they are just lazy. Often times the popular kids are given rewards for being average and actually above average kids are told to stop showing off. Their are teachers here who take badly about their students and are generally rude. Teachers are harsh and most students cant except anything that is slightly out of the norm. Kids are bullied constantly. The amount of fights that happen here on a monthly basis are insane. There are only a few teachers who actually care about the students. Kids, like myself who struggle with focus are told that we are lazy or we are just straight up ignored because literal teachers don't care enough to help students when needed. Counselors aren't actually helpful and kids who are actually rude to other people are never given repercussions unless they literally beat a kid up. There were fights on the second day of school. Food is extremely expensive (especially considering the quality). There used to be a club for lgbtq+ youth which had posters getting torn down the day they got put up. There are many kids who will just start screaming slurs. There have been instances of kids getting bullied for being trans. We may look rich, But the school is a poor choice in itself.

Administration is lacking. They do not deal with the "Popular" kids. Administration is known for not responding to emails and concerns from parents.
They have been decreasing the amount of food in their already overpriced lunches. 5.25 for 3 chicken tenders which are usually hollow inside with barely any actual nutritional value.
Most snacks do not have the prices listed, so its a "buy and find out" deal. The people working in the lunch line are less then helpful and normally rude, some not even speaking full English.
Teachers are rude and unwilling to put in the fullest effort they could.
Substitute teachers from my experience have no idea what they are doing and often barely speak.
Snacks are horribly overpriced, 4 Dollars for an off brand granola bar that no one buys.
Phone rules are heavily enforced, meanwhile rules against bullying and others are not.
Janitors are HEAVILY under payed and do not get payed enough to clean and deal with kids all day. (my heart goes to them.)
Everything in the school is overpriced. 25 dollars for a hays middle school spirit hat.
Bomb threats and School Shooting threats by students are common at this school.
Now to the district. The district does not plan for the future. There are almost 25 elementary schools with 5 middle schools.
That's 25 schools with the entire 5th grade filling into 5 middle schools.
All schools are crowded and mobs will form in the hallways. Getting from class to class is like a warzone.
DO NOT GO HERE.

My son got slapped by another student twice and he pour all the gatorate bottle on his head and my son came home with sticky hair and same day he was having his important test and He scored very low even though he prepared well. No teacher says a word or warn the popular kids they just ignored innocent and weak kids. All my three kids and my sister in kids goes to Prosper ISD, our kids are very smart academically and we pay taxes in huge amounts still our kids suffered in this school the ego of students will hurt. You can imagine slapping on face is like directly hitting the heart of the kid. My kid is very upset and could not focus on studies he is loosing his interest on his studies.

From the outside, it may seem like a good school, but when you actually send your child there, you realize it's not the case. Especially when problems arise among students, our efforts are in vain, and it becomes a stressful situation. There's a significant amount of bullying, and the authorities handle it in an irresponsible manner. It's not a good school. Fortunately, a new middle school is opening nearby, and we are truly grateful for that.

My teenage twins attend Hays Middle School. They are very happy and well adjusted. They are receiving an excellent education and are enjoying their experience. My son participates in football & wrestling. They offer A & B teams so the athletes get a chance to participate regardless of their level. The teachers, coaches, administrators and students work together to create a positive academic community. The students are kind & respectful to one another.
They receive some homework, but they are able to complete it during advisory period. Tutoring is offered in the mornings so the students can get extra help if they need it. The teachers are creative, involved and effective. The methods they use are building my teens up to be productive members of society with a strong work ethic. They teach and encourage being on time, leadership & critical thinking.
This school and itÂ’s staff develop strong character in its students. They encourage the kids to work together, be nice to one another, and support learning differences. They have an excellent array of classes for the high level achievers & also ones with learning disabilities. I highly recommend Hays Middle School.
