Very happy with the quick response to any inquiry made. Very engaged school community. Love the opportunity for the kids to learn Spanish with peers. Love that good teachers are always applying whenever there is an opening. Love that’s it’s a neighborhood school.

Burton Hill is a wonderful school! My son absolutely loves it. He went to the GT Stem summer camp offered at the school in June and keeps asking when school starts because he misses Burton Hill. We have had wonderful teachers all 3 years my son has attended so far. Only 13 elementary schools throughout FWISD offer the Two-Way Dual Language Program, and Burton Hill is one of those premier schools! The PTO is doing a great job supporting the teachers, students, and clubs, and is going to be doing even more fun things this year for the students after 2 years of successful fundraising. Burton Hill Elementary is a hidden gem in FWISD. The Westworth Village City Hall and Police Station are right by the school, and we have family social food truck nights monthly there in the parking lot. The WV City Staff and Police are really supportive of our school.

BHE has ben has been the best school ever!!! Teachers are fabulous as well as all the staff my kids are greeted each morning by various staff members and love going to school!!!

In general, I am not a fan of homework. Any school that requires it is ineffective in their homework policy, in my opinion. So, this isn't unique to BHE

All of the teachers at BHE my two students have had have communicated regularly about progress, concerns, student needs, etc.

I love the teachers, staff, and parents. It does very well considering it is a title 1 school and that most parents in the neighborhood are full-time workers. The parents do a very good job of making the school welcoming.

The teachers would assign the students vocabulary words for the week and tell the students to not take it home, because they were gonna get class time to work on it, but never did.

My experience at this school/district was by far the worst that I have sent my kids to. While being deployed. The teachers and several students who are also in military families, Offered no support to my kids during the holidays or the father-daughter dance. My children were bullied on daily basis and were blamed for it. The school work was not challenging enough and held my children back from reaching their full potential.

This is the worst elementary school my children have attended. They are very relaxed on homework, they encourage bullying, and choose favorites that can get away with anything. The office staff is rude, and the principal is a joke.

Its been bad and i dont expect it to get better. The school is in a solidly middle/upper class neighborhood and yet they seriously seem to lack resources and funding to provide for students. I find this suspicious. They now want parents to provide supplies for teachers, such as copy paper and dry erase markers and even headphones and cleaning supplies for the 2018-2019 school year. Ive never known a school to do this. My kids did not thrive there, older son was bullied and failed math even though we connected with the school multiple times to get him extra help. My younger son also struggled in certain areas and did not get what he needed at school. Both of their teachers were rude, condescending and uninterested. I do NOT want to send them back there.

We have loved Burton Hill! Both of my children have attended this school and my youngest one is still there. This school's motto is "We are family!" and administration, teachers and staff work very hard to put this motto into practice. Not only is their a high emphasis on the student's individual academic success, there is a great effort to develop the whole student. This school uses a something called the "Honorable Character" program to talk about developing good character qualities. The PTO is also very active and effective in raising money to support the school and working with the principal to make sure the relationship between the parents, teachers and administration is a great one! I can't say enough wonderful things about this school!

Burton Hill is an excellent school! Just had one child finish 5th grade now one in 2nd grade. Hands down the best teachers, principals and staff. Couldn't ask for a better place for my children to learn and grow!

My daughter just finished her fifth grade year at Burton HIll after transferring here in the middle of the third grade. This is an exemplary school, not only from a testing and learning perspective, but also from a parent involvement and community building perspective. High standards of academics, engaged and friendly teachers, and accessible administration. School works hard to provide afterschool opportunities for kids (Homework Haven and Running Club are great!) and truly tries to engage parents and families in the educational process. This school exemplifies the idea that it takes a village to raise a child.

I simply cannot say enough about Burton Hill Elementary..all of my children have gone there and now my grandchildren..The school staff and Principal are awesome. They not only provide excellent education but compassion, compassion that my personal family experience during a family crisis. . I have had 5 of my grandchildren in this school. I would like to say the special education program it terriffic. I have a mentally challenged grand-daughter who went to school here for 3 years and now she is prepared for middle school. The special olympics she has participated in have been wornderful. Her teacher was very supportive as well. She kept in contact with my daughter on the progress of my grand-daughter through all her challenges. Good work Burton Hill

Burton Hill has scored Exemplary the last 3 years on the TAKS test. The parent involvement is extremely high due to the school based activities. Burton Hill uses the slogan of " We ar Family", this is not just a saying but they live this everyday. They care about the students and families. They also get the community invloved in teaching the children by have volunteers come in the read, speak or just interact with classes. Burton Hill finds ways for each child to succeed in learning. They also reward kids based on individual gains not at the grade or class level, this makes for some friendly competition. The school has an open door policy, if you sign in, to assist the school and or classroom. The school provides a good mixture of religion, financilal diversity, and ethnicity to develop a well rounded young adult.

My daughter just finished first grade at Burton Hill and we can't say enough about this school. A previous poster mentioned their motto: "We are family" and they do a lot to live up to this. The first week or so of school the principal stood in front of the building greeting everybody. This made my daughter and I feel very welcome since we were new and from out of state. They had many activities throughout the school year for families to participate in. Parent participation and volunteerism is very much encouraged which I really liked. By the end of the year almost all the staff knew my daughter's name as they do everybody's and their family. Their standards of behavior are very high as well and teacher communication was outstanding.

My husband and I have been very impressed by this school. My son has really taken to this new place over the past year and has been really felt welcomed and loved. Mrs. Dugen the principal is easy to talk to about any issue we have had. There are monthly family activities during weeknights, such as Family Math Night ect.The teachers and staff are hand-picked, and really care about the well being of our children. We could not ask for more. The improvements look great, keep up the good work!

We came to this school in the middle of the yr from kisd where my son never had any problems and in fact was awarded many times. In the first 2 months of my son being at burton hill he has been to the principals office twice. I have seen parents that are dressed as a gang members, parents that do not wear appropiate clothing, and will run you over in the hallway. The kids have literally pushed me out of the way and my son. There are no smiles on the kids faces and none on the teachers faces!! The school wants dads to volunteer to greet children at the door and smile...the teachers who are paid and spend most of the day with our children should already be doing this. I have talked to the principal reguarding all this and she has totally blown me off and made mefeelbelittle.
