We have been in the school for 3 years and have had a very good experience with the teachers, the office and the director. If you are looking for small classes and more attention to the children, this is a very good option.

This is our third year being a part of this small community and we are thankful our two boys are thriving in their learning journey. It makes me feel so good to see them happy at drop off and at pick up. They like their school.
Kids are treated respectfully by great teachers who are loving moms and grandmas.

We have been at WHA for five years now. The small classes and engaging teachers make the community feel like a family. We have started touring middle schools and have consistently heard that WHA students are advanced (which was nice to hear!). I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend WHA for anyone looking for a small private school.

My kids were here years ago. My three year old nephew was struggling at the public school Montesorri. Being military and having had had the same day care since birth the move was challenging. I told his mom about western hills academy and they don’t disappoint. Mrs. Davey, the afterschool care people and Mrs. Mendoza have helped my nephew so much. They are true God sends for my nephew.

Both of my children attend Western Hills Academy and both have had fantastic experiences. The class ratios are small which provides very good interactions and focused teaching. The school is friendly and accommodating and provides a great atmosphere not only for the students, but for parents to engage and build community.

Western Hills Academy has been such a blessing for our family. My husband is active duty military and we came to El Paso from a very remote location with a lower level elementary school. The current director and the rest of the staff have gone above and beyond to make sure our kids are set up to excel. Our daughter struggles with anxiety and many mornings the director takes the time to get her from my car, wraps an arm around her, asks her how she is doing, and walks her to her classroom. It has been our experience that every staff member at this school shows that level of kindness and concern toward the students. Between my two children, we’ve had three different teachers, and each one has been phenomenal. I would highly recommend this school to any parent who wants to focus on education but also make sure their children are in a safe, kind, and caring environment throughout the day.

We were struggling with our son on where to put him, and Western Hills Academy was a god send. They have worked closely with us to help him get where he needs to be and I cannot be more grateful. I would highly recommend their program.

My kids have been in Western Hills for 3 years now. We absolutely love the teaching environment. Classrooms are small, between 5 and 12 per class). Abeka is a great program and my kids are excelling in their education and even performing above their grade levels. The students, parents and teachers make up a wonderful community. It feels like a family. When issues arise between students, the teachers and leadership address it promptly and there are no major concerns for bullying. Overall we love this school and are lucky we found this little gem.

We couldn’t be happier with Western Hills Academy! Both of our daughters have been here for the past five years, and we have watched them thrive academically and personally. The small class sizes create a welcoming, focused learning environment where each child gets the individual attention they need.

The teachers and staff are genuinely caring, patient, and invested in every student’s success — they know our girls by name, understand their strengths, and encourage them to grow with confidence. We’ve seen them develop not only strong academic skills but also kindness, curiosity, and a love for learning.

If you are looking for a school where your children will be supported, challenged, and truly known, Western Hills Academy is the perfect choice. We are so grateful to have found this school!

This school used to be beautiful! Ever since the new director took over it has gone downhill QUICK! BEWARE. They neglect kids and don’t teach! If you complain, the director takes it upon herself and her 3 teacher friends to retaliate against your child! DO NOT GO HERE!!

I’m deeply disappointed with the quality of education at Western Hills. While the school is affordable due to being a small non-profit run by a church, the lack of proper oversight and educational standards is alarming. The school board consists of church members, and they seem more focused on keeping students enrolled by doing whatever parents ask, rather than upholding quality education.

Many teachers don’t even have the necessary teaching degrees, and substitutes are often family members or other parents. For example, kindergarten teachers only have associate degrees, and all staff are paid minimum wage. It’s hard to trust a system that underpays its teachers, how can they be expected to put effort into their work when they aren’t valued?

A significant number of children with special needs attend the school, but the teachers lack the proper qualifications to meet their needs. This is a major concern regarding the quality of care and education they receive.

Additionally, the classrooms are spread across different buildings, requiring students to walk outside to get to other classes, the gym, or the cafeteria, often unaccompanied. It just doesn’t feel like a safe or well-organized learning environment.

The teachers that are employed to teach your elementary students are not credentialed teachers. Some don’t even have anything more than an associate’s degree. This is such a disservice to our children especially when paying tuition for a private school in hopes of a quality education. Look elsewhere and do your research.
