The Fort Worth Independent School District has very strict rules about any type of bullying (physical, verbal, cyber). The school sees that these rules are followed so students have a safe learning environment.

I would rate my experience a 4+. The administrators, teachers, counselors, and staff at Glencrest care about the students. Students who struggle academically are given opportunities to attend tutoring. Students in band and choir have the opportunity to compete in district-wide competitions. Glencrest regularly sends students to the FWISD Spelling Bee and Battle of the Books contests. Students also have the opportunity to prepare for and compete in UIL competitions.

The principal and assistant principal at Glencrest work hard to ensure that the students have a safe learning environment. They are in the hallways during passing periods and frequently visit classrooms to monitor student progress.

Students use Chromebooks when they are working on projects. Chromebook extensions are available to give extra support to students with learning disabilities.

Overall, G6 is an amazing campus overall. Ms. McCalister and Ms. McCloud are very effective administrators that hired highly competent teachers and leadership members.

The school has a positive open door policy for parents and the community. Faculty and staff put student safety and emotional well being first. This helps to encourage learning and student academic growth as well as social growth.

The student council/leadership team meets regularly to discuss issues that come up amongst themselves. They find ways to address any and all bullying through the use of restorative practices.

I would say my experience here has been good. I feel safe. I have not been attacked. Procedures are in place to deter inappropriate behaviors.

The students are given options for completing homework. For example, they are given chrome books to use daily. They can use the paper and pencil method and teachers are available after school.

It is a small staff, however, they help the students during lunch, before and after school. They are very supportive when the students have competitions and other outside activities.
