I will never send my child back to this school. Its not only the children that are bad, its the administration as well. Very poor in reaching out to parents about anything thats going on in the school. Children fight, cuss, and vape; they dont care whats going on as long as they get paid. This school is the dumps and they could care less if your child is getting bullied, harassed, or antagonized by other students. Teachers and administrators demand respect from the children, but dont respect the students. This is by far one of the worse schools you can send your child too. And dont worry about the education, because its not there either. Ive had a teacher tell my son she didnt like him, and guess what? That rude, unintelligent incompetent teacher is still there teaching. So much for respect and integrity. Stay away from this school unless you want you kids to be dumb as rocks.

Middle schools serve pre-adolescent and young adolescent students between grades 5 and 9, with most in the grade 6-8 range. Middle schools in the upper grade range (7-9) are sometimes referred to as junior high schools. Secondary or high schools enroll students in the upper grades, generally 9-12 with variations.

This school is humanly discusting. Multiple fights everyday. Children are not where they should be at learning they are not taught ..Very out of control. My daughter calls me everyday from school to see if I will get her in Uplift I believe the only other school in this district. My paperwork is done just waiting on a call saying Uplift has a spot for my daughter. I just can not send her back for 8th grade it is so dangerous. I should be whipped for sending her there the time she has been. Most kids can not eat there lunch they say the food is bad and they throw it away in the trash.

Great improvements happening at Leonard MS. Test scores have more than doubled from previous years. Teachers have a heart for learning and kids in the community! Principal Brown is a great leader and visionary, a culture of joy is softening the hearts of kids, and renewing their minds.

This school never answers my calls, they take forever to answer. My child has so many tardies or unexcused absences that it's ridiculous, when I know for a fact how many days he's out & when he is out for medical reasons he always has a doctor's note or a note from me the legal guardian! I've called to get it taken care of & they blame the teachers & tell me to email the teachers, then the teachers say it's administration to call them, and so on & and so on! After arguing with my child to make sure it's not him skipping class or whatever, he assures me that it's not him, and I believe him cause I can tell when he's lying to me. He claims there's to many substitute teachers for one thing. Anyway if I could drive I would be driving my nephew to a better school then this one for sure. Teacher's are suppose to be the heroes of these kids, but instead they are letting them down. Get it together FWISD!

We were new to this school and distsrict last year and Leonard Middle DID NOT meet our expectations. There is no parent or student engagement and it appears no one is held accountable for anything. Parents voice their challenges and nothing is done, dress code is not enforced, I've seen several unruly kids while visiting the campus, and the environment is in total chaos. The entire staff was replaced with the exception of the Principal and Assistant Principals and the school named changed to "Leadership" but the culutral/environment is still the same from previous years. I do believe this school has potential but you have to have some type of implementation of what those steps are and hold everyone accountable. I have not heard or seen anything that would make me believe things will change besides we have included several after school programs but what about every other issue. No one seems to have the answers. We did not have an Open House, School Pictures, Parent/Teacher Conference, etc...I feel bad for all that want to teach/have a better education at this school. Change starts at the top and flows downard and this year Leonard dropped the ball on so many levels.

I hate this school is in my district. This is my first and last year here. It's supposed to be a leadership academy but it's not! The teachers could care less about these students. I honestly don't know why this school is open. I have never experienced a sorry school like this.

this school is the worst school in fwisd! it seems like they are more worried about the dress code than how the students are doing. there was so many fights last year, students smoking in restrooms is what my daughter told me. I think they should take away the dress code and focus on the kids not telling them what to wear. I think they need to be comfortable with what they are wearing so they can focus more about learning and the stuff yall are requesting for my child to wear is
ridiculous. i would rate this a zero but i cant.

I went to leonard for about 2 years (2015-2016) and i do not advise anyone to send their children here.
Teachers: Some were alright but most werent great.
Students: Bullying was significant here. There were fights daily in the school and out on the basketball court.
Administration: TERRIBLE! The assistant principal would laugh in the face of parents who were tired of their kids being bullied, HE would not do anything about it either.
Judging by what i see on this website here, The academics side of things werent great either.
All in all this school is terrible.

Bullies come in many different forms. They can also be teachers or straight A students. The school will dismiss your child's claims and do nothing.

Extremely disappointed. Lots of fights, blood in the hallway after the fight, bullying and intimidation by children and one certain 6th grade math teacher.

I'm sure there are good teachers here but it all starts at the top. You have to physically go up to the school to get them to believe your child.

I have been teaching the Junior Cadet Corps Program for my second year here at Leonard. The students are a hidden treasure with many talents, gifts and abilities. It is impossible for these students to be held back from their God given potential with the incredible teachers love and care that is present each and everyday at Leonard Middle School. It is truley a blessing and privilege to be a part of this school and to see the leadership and academic development of the students. I learn every day from them as much as they learn from me. The school is not perfect but what school is? Some of the school employees tend to be a bit arrogant. However my daughter really enjoys attending school here. She has wonderful grades and she is in 2 advanced classes. I am pleased with her curriculum at Leonard. She is thriving well The Principal; seems to be very involved with the students

Years ago I attended this school. I'm a parent now and I would never let my child attend this God awful school. As I was reading the other reviews I can see not much has changed since 1996, what a shame! Parents if you can help it, please do not send your child to this school!!!!!!!!!

Leonard isn't as bad as you hear . Don't listen to what you hear until YOU as a STUDENT have lived it . I lived it this year . I loved all my friends & some teachers . I have been on the A-B honor roll all year . The environment does not effect your education as long as you set your mind to succeeding . I know some guys who cameleer a few years ago , now attend western hills high and have amazing grades & athletic . Competed in state champs & have won . What depends is how focused you are in succeeding . Yes there are "gangs" not as bad as it might seem because they really aren't about that life as they claim . I DID Have Teachers who worked their hearts out & one whom just handed out packets . This is at every school , normal . Leonard is definitely not the best looking , the only prince opal that cared left after this year . So students are now stuck with two that show no care . I will use this strong word "hate" , I hate the counselors & them two . They are rude & some staff members show no interest & catch attitudes or think they're too good . Overall average school.
