This school is a gem. Our daughter regularly reminds us that she loves her school. The school leadership, teachers and staff are all committed to serving every child. My daughter is in 3rd grade and has grown both emotionally and academically in a very supportive environment. The community of parents have been wonderful as well, driving great programming through the PTA like the fall festival, movie nights, chili cook offs, and so many more. Additionally we have great extra curricular activities for children like the Shovels and Whisks group, which both learns about planting food (i.e. shovel) and making fun, nutritious recipes (i.e. whisk). All around a great educational environment both academically and emotionally.

We chose the NHM dual language program to improve our daughter's Spanish, and hoped that the school would be a good fit. What we've experienced over the last four years has blown away our expectations. The students, parents, and teachers have become our community here in Fort Worth. The thoughtful after-school programs and cultural enrichment opportunities have benefitted our entire family. Our daughter loves coming to school every day and is flourishing academically thanks to the supportive learning environment. We love NHM!

This school is the gem of FWISD! The small size provides the attention our children need. All of the faculty in the building know every child by name. Kids are loved, safe, and seen as the unique individuals they are! My children are in the dual language program, and my third grader's Spanish is so strong that if he were to take the Star test in Spanish, he would actually be on grade level. The school has a strong PTA and an inviting community with ample opportunity to get involved. We would never consider another elementary school. NHM has our heart.

We had 2 kids go through North Hi Mount between 2016-19. Recommend this school enthusiastically and without reservation. It's a delightful, warm and encouraging place. They walk admirably that difficult terrain of unconditional support without enabling. Your kids can get anywhere from here.

My children have since moved on to middle school and high school, but I miss North Hi mount. We originally transferred there because of serious bullying issues in another school. It was the best educational decision we have made so far. Both of our children flourished in the positive, inclusive and encouraging environment provided by the principal and teachers at this school.

My oldest is in 3rd grade and I had heard from parents from a variety of schools that 3rd grade is hard. From day 1 the amount of homework he had this year was definitely more than last year, but he rose to the challenge. I realized the increased difficulty in homework-and the teacher's insistence that it be "student led" this year-was proportionate to his increased ability as a 3rd grader. Yes, it's hard, but it's just the right amount of challenge.

Also both my 3rd grader and 1st grader LOVE to read. From day 1 in kindergarten the teachers emphasize reading and it is evident to me they both have found a lifelong love of learning.

The staff and teachers at this little neighborhood school are very invested in the students' success. Most of the parents are also very involved, which I think lends to the overall academic achievement of the student body. We moved to this neighborhood b/c of its proximity to downtown, but we're staying b/c of the school.

Mr. Koppes, the principal leads a group of fully committed teachers and faculty. The team is devoted to delivering an education to their students that will propel them successfully into middle school. They are focused on being a team that continues to grow as teachers. The students are a charming mix of several cultural backgrounds.

My two daughters attend this school and are in 3rd and Kindergarten. We have been so pleased and happy with their teachers. There is a special spark and a wonderful atmosphere at the school.

In 2014, North Hi Mount received a Bronze level award by the National Center for Urban Schools Transformation.

NHM is a hidden gem on the Westside. The school is small which is a benefit for the students. The principal is very passionate about this school and greets each student outside in the mornings. The PTA is up and running and growing each year. The teachers are very caring and involved in extracurricular activities with the school outside of their teaching duties. They have numerous clubs for kids to get involved in including Garden Club, Lights, Camera, Action (video production/newscast), Choir, Running Club and Art Club. They now have a dual language program for Spanish that will be in kinder and 1st grades for the 2014-2015 school year and will go on from there. Neighborhood support for the school is also improving year by year. This school really does function as a family. If you have any interest or concerns about this school you should definately make a visit to see for yourself.

Great location with a small, intimate setting. The classrooms are small giving each student more opportunity of the individual learning experience they may need. The entire staff is warm, loving and great with not only the students but the families as well.

Our experience with NHM has been exceptional! The school offers a variety of clubs for the students to participate in. (Choir, running, morning fitness, garden club, etc.) The current teaching staff/administration is extremely involved and its obviously they love what they do! They also have a very well organized and motivated PTA.
