The school has many activities for the parents and kids to be involved. Something almost every week. Carnivals, roller skating, play days at the park and fishing. The teachers and staff are super friendly. My boy wants to go to school every day.

Westpark Elementary is unlike any other school. The school and facility feel like family. They truly know and care for the kids. Both my sons have attended Westpark, and it was an awesome experience for both. My youngest needed additional help since he has ADHD and Autism. They were so supportive and followed his 504 to a "T" even suggesting small changes based on knowing my son personally. My oldest needed to be challenged, so he was accepted into GT (Gifted and Talented) classes. Finally, I can't forget the PTA. They are so helpful and supportive of the teachers and students. The school couldn't run as efficiently without them.

Westpark is an amazing school! You truly feel like you are a part of a family. Both teachers and staff care about the whole child, not just academics. The teachers are thoughtful, caring, knowledgeable, and intentional in how they teach. You can find the Principal and Assistant Principal greeting every student by name as they come into school. We are so thankful to be Westpark Wildcats!

This is our 3rd year with this school. First and second grade teachers were amazing and the speech program was helping my son. Since beginning third grade, the teachers and new speech therapists are not very good at communicating with me. At state required parent teacher meetings they say they are “concerned” regarding my sons understanding of certain subjects yet they never communicate these concerns outside of mandated meetings. I directly asked why no one let me know about their “concerns” before the meeting (3 months into the school year) and they just looked at me and would not say anything. I asked the vice principal to be present and she suggested they communicate with me more frequently in the future. However, they have not done so since our meeting (the meeting was several months ago). If your child requires ANY additional help or services, keep an eye on the grades and teachers otherwise your child may suffer academically.

Once your student is in third grade, they expect a lot more from them very quickly. Projects assigned by different subject teachers are due around the same time frame. The homework load remains the same regardless of the number of projects expected to be completed.

First and second grade teachers were amazing. Since my son started third grade, I have found the teachers are much less inclined to initiate communication to the parents. I have had to “seek them out” more than once regarding concerns and they were not taken very seriously.

They do push the students to work as hard as possible in an effort to establish student self responsibility and accountability. Sometimes this is helpful, other times it can be overwhelming for the student.

I have had communication issues with the third grade teachers and when I had to set up a meeting with them regarding grade book discrepancies (the grades in the grade book were recorded as lower than the actual grades my son received on his papers), I asked the vice principal to be present. Once again, my concerns were not taken seriously.

The whole 2nd grade teaching team, the Counselor and the Principal were very involved, helpful, reassuring, understanding and loving while my son was trying to balance out his ADHD medication. Even when I decided to take him completely off the medication for awhile, they supported my decision. They never gave up on us. We all made through a difficult time together.

This stats given on this site are not correct. All three of mine have attended this school. The class capacity is over 20:1. The school is at or over capacity and is currently not accepting transfers. This is evident in how the teachers do not communicate problems they see with your child. Despite having email addresses, you only know about missing homework or bad grades if you look and ask questions. My belief is that is because the teachers are overwhelmed by the amount of children in the classroom. Myself and my husband have addressed this multiple times with the teachers and the principal. It has never gotten better. We are leaving the state and glad for it. The schools across Texas will only get worse with the gutting of education at the state level. Most parents don't know this.

Westpark elementary is a wonderful school full of loving caring teachers who strive in teaching in a manner that teaches the kids That learning is not only a repetitive experience but can also be fun! We have been at Westpark elementary for a few years now and I now have three children attending we have had a very positive experience at the school. The only thing that bothers me is the new principal and the janitor opening up car doors and pulling children out in the mornings.I believe we as parents have enough sense to make sure our children exit our vehicles in a timely and orderly fashion without our personal space being invaded. She has a few things to learn about a school that has parent envolvement such as this one. But over all it is a wonderful, happy environment, and a great school!

We moved to this school district so that my daughter could attend Westpark. We came from a school in Virginia that we loved. My daughter's teachers here at Westpark have been wonderful and the principal, while I have not had much direct contact with, seems to love his job and the students. There also seems to be lots of parent evolvement, too, which is great. My biggest problem is with the front desk secretary and also the records clerk. Both of them act like they are being inconvenienced every time I've gone in there. I will recommend this school to anyone moving into the FWISD, however, I will warn them about the less-than-friendly staff in the front office. Thankfully, we are moving this summer although, I'm not looking forward to the reaction I get when I request my child's records!

We moved to this area to be able to attend this particular school. I was very dissatisfied with the every door in the building being un-locked at all times. Very dangerous. Anyone can come in at any time. As for the Secretary at this School try to avoid her at all cost. She is very disrespectful and rude for no reason. She likes to take tardies personal and treat you and your child like a inmate and not a human being or child. Avoid this school. We are now attending a much better school and no door at this school is ever un-locked. You must get buzzed in. Love it! Maybe this school should do the same. And their office staff is wonderful very helpful, unlike this school.
