Hello I am a student at Classical Center at Brandenburg I am going into 8th grade so it will be my 3rd year here my experience when I was in 6th grade was kind of rough but I understand it was my first year the teachers where enormously nice and welcoming loved it, last year I was in 7th grade I really do recommend to have an emotional resource partner because people are very rude but where just teens the way PTA set up like dances and other activities like really good everyone has so much fun and I enjoy it myself now 8th grade I really don't know how its going to be but if your students wants to be in any electives for 6th grade " GYMNASTICS " is the one I really recommend it because the coaches are really nice and fun there is 2 locker rooms girls and boys, girls share there's with thee girls in dance and the boys don't share they have there owns the coaches go in the locker room but they don't watch the boys change out there is 2 gyms the 2nd gym in split with gymnastics and gym the competition gym really isn't used only for the girls athletics and the Basketball team and there 2 other lockers in there the girls athletic locker do not share and the boys football locker room but I love this school with really good administration fights do happen but have never gotten intense and they take bullying and fights really serious .

DO NOT GO HERE, OFFICE STAFF IS TERRIBLE AND LAZY AS WELL AS MOST ADMINISTRATION AND STAFF, SAVE YOUR KIDS FROM THIS SCHOOL they messed up my private school application and were too lazy to remember sending the release forms and messed everything up... as a result I was forced to attend this living hell for another year. It's not just the kids... its mainly the staff they are not concerned for safety and refuse to help anyone. This place sucks and if you have to go here brace yourself it will be a long 3 years.

SAFETY DOESNT EXIST HERE
Children full on walk off campus anytime they want to go to convenience store nearby
Fights happen daily in hallways and police offer just sits in office vs patrolling
RANDY KING the principal may be the most incompetent person I've ever met.
It may be a "magnet" school but the work isn't any different and teachers aren't any better

I have had two children attend Brandenburg. They have had amazing experiences. Lots of opportunities to grow and learn. One of my children took advantage of many school activities and participated in the magnet program and one is a student with a learning disability. It is evident teachers and school leaders care about the children. I cant recommend Brandenburg enough!

Misbehaved students get accepted in this Magnet school? This is unclear to me.

Lots of bullying occurs at this school. The staff does not handle the situations. Major fact and deceased information occurred at this school.

Parents have to REteach the child to understand the HW. Some Teacher approach are not effectively teaching in class because reflects on Homework. Lots of homework is given.
Posted: April 19, 2019
Some are caring and some are not. When a teacher is absent student are held responsibilities of the subject teacher default mistakes of grades.
Posted: April 19, 2019
They discourage students to makeup grades if 75 or higher. Tutorials are not accurately in place. Teachers are not compassionate to students who try to improve their grades.

Theres no set of ground discipline in school. Lots of misconduct behavior for this school to be consider magnet.

It seems they DO take care of there disabilities children.

This is my child's 1st year at CCB and so far it seems like an episode of Mean Girls. I joined the PTA but it's been over a semester and I have no idea when they even have general meetings. The PTA doe NOT notify parents if meetings. I emailed to the PTA president but she didn't even acknowledge my email. The teachers are okay but are not as friendly & interested in meeting parents as my child's last middle school. There seems to be a lack of leadership. Not even all the teachers were present at Meet The Teacher night! I'm debating next year. For a school that is touted as being so great...that's subjective and only applies to "certain students". My child by the way makes all "A"s and scored commendable on the STAAR tests.

My daughter is a bright and friendly student. She was excited to go to CCB, but the dress code was something she dreaded. I reassured her that it would be no big deal. The principal was very strict about the dress code and it seemed excessive. They even required dress code on after school dances. If you were "caught" without a belt, you would have to go to the office and write yourself up. At lunch, there are teachers who stand by the lunch lines and force students to sit next to whoever they were behind in line; and when my daughter tried to wait outside the cafeteria so that she could get in line with a friend, that was forbidden. My daughter has never been in trouble at school and her anxiety now about these pervasive and strict policies have her begging me to find another school. She is set to go a second year, as she does enjoy the piano, art, and gymnastic classes. And they have a new principal . But if she still hates it, we are withdrawing her after the first six weeks. BTW, she makes near perfect scores on those stupid standardized tests. That is what people believe makes a great school. To me, a school is wonderful if it makes my child love learning.

This is our first year at Brandenburg. I'm not clear about the previous comments on our school. We applied and chose this school because of the fine arts electives, zero period options, strong leadership and communication, and supposed parent involvement. However, the long time band director was fired without parent notification, there are NO zero electives like piano or chess, we do not get Principal regular call-outs (as Sachse HS does) to notify us of important events (early release, programs, etc.), and the PTA does not notify parents of general meetings or board elections. It's very non-inclusive lacking communication. What should be the main source of info and communication should be the website, which is severely lacking. It does not have club meeting dates, audition info, etc. Lastly, a majority of the teachers that we've had seem bothered by questions being asked when inquiring about specific of the curriculum. It seems that they are almost offended, perhaps because of being used to a parent population who does not question authority. Nevertheless, we are disappointed at what could have possibly been a great school at one time.

This is my daughters second year at Bradenburg. The staff is very supportive and proactive with the cirriculum, social issues, and potential problems with students. I appreciated the voice messages from the school for community events involved with the school, pta, and other social events. The children seem to be disciplined and the office staff is not rude. My child was involved in a number of activities which allowed her to become well rounded. The zero credit classes are great and the staff enforces time management with the students.

My son did OK at Brandenburg but when my daughter was coming from Vial they misfiled her paperwork and bumped her. They had overbooked the school by 300 students! We were told too bad. I had to quit my job teaching in GISD and drive her to our neighborhood school. It ended up being a blessing. She is at Houston middle school and the teachers are so much better. Brandenburg tends to let good test takers like my son slide by which has hit him hard in high school. Also going into GHS al the Brandenbugers l had to go down to regulars because they were not prepared for the work.

This is my daughter's 7th grade year at Brandenburg and I'm very pleased. The teachers all seem to be on target, enthusiastic and they bring fresh ideas to their classrooms. My daughter feels good about going to school every morning.
