Teachers talk to students badly while pointing in their face and put hands on students. Other students threaten with weapons and they never get checked .Ms Allen is a poor principle . They retaliate of you call the district on them

My daughter was threatened there and when the other student that made the threat showed up to school I asked if they will check her backpack and they said no bc it wasnt necessary bc she was only a 3rd graded ..lol and parents wonder why things that couldve be prevented always happen !!

A girl told my baby that she would bring something to school to harm her and when I let the principal know she seemed not too concerned and then I said well are you going to check her backpack when she shows up to school ..she said no bc it wasnt necessary!! Yeah thats exactly how you prevent things

This school is going down the drain and I blame the principal. Look at the trend in scores under Kelly Williams' leadership. Her performance has fallen off a cliff!

Principal barely punishes the offending students who then get back into class and cause chaos. Principal Williams and McClure make it easy on bad kids to do harm in class.

Not an issue because it doesn't effect me.

I am getting ready to call NBC5DFW because this school is being destroyed and nobody is doing anything about it.
Posted: May 6, 2017
Character is a joke at the school because the fake principal smiles all the time no matter what is going on. She smiles as she destroys the school.
Posted: May 6, 2017
I think the teachers are good, but the district needs to get rid of the terrible principals.
Posted: May 6, 2017
The teachers are not enforcing homework because the principal wants to pass everyone.

They typically will put these kids in special education even though the child isn't special education material. Which puts the child thru stigma

There are some good teachers but then there are the teachers that doesn't communicate with the parents so they are informed about the child either struggling in class or that the child is going to fail. Teachers typically wait until after the child has failed or last minute to inform the parents

Homework is rarely assigned. And when it is it doesn't seem to be any urgency to make sure its turned in.
Posted: February 7, 2017
The administration has no idea on how to effectively help the children when there are issues they just believe in suspension or special ed program. They are not equipped with the knowledge or skills to handle troubled children.

Principal Kelly Williams is hated by the teachers. I know this because I spoke to several over the time my grand daughter was at school there. I hear she throws them under the bus to take away heat from her and the falling test scores.

Bullies terrorize the campus but the principal is no where to be found.
Posted: October 27, 2016
I have no clue, but I bet not because discipline is a joke.
Posted: October 27, 2016
Principal Williams makes excuses for the bullies. They are never punished, but they keep hurting good kids.
Posted: October 27, 2016
The teachers were good, but the principal was horrible. Principal Williams always had Mrs. McClure answer everything and is never at the school to speak to.

My grand daughter had homework but she told me she never had to turn it in.

I have a son at shugart. I call for the principle who is never there and talk to the other principal. My boy is telling me that he is always right, but he is not. That principle just blames the teachers, not my boy. Not good to do because he learns to blame me too. Bad principles.

As a parent, I really recomend this school. Well organized outside traffic and inside, safe, friendly, caring, helpful, and more... Thank you Principal Kelly Williams!! A good place starts with a good Leader, When I read this I think of leader like The principal Kelly Williams.. The whole city celebrates when the godly succeed; they shout for joy when the wicked die. Thank you Principal

Ugh what a mistake to send my child here. Their teachers are not as committed as couch elementary teachers. I'm not being bias but coach elementary students are academically better.

Being a parent to only one child who started kindergarten in august of '12. I was very VERY precautious about where to send my daughter to. Luckily b/c its GISD and we have choice of school i didnt feel 'forced' to put her in shugart. So far so good though, I absolutely ADORE her teacher Mrs.Donham who is the sweetest teacher and really helpful. She is very involved and is always giving feedback on my daughter whether positive or negative. The school in general is a plus as well. I have gone to have lunch with my daughter a few times and everyone in the office is great. It seems to be a very 'tight knit' school, everyone knows the students by name and the students know the staff as well, this is a plus in my opinion. My daughter will be attending Shugart next year as well. I really like it here. edit: I did have a negative with the principal at the beginning of the year which left a bad taste in my mouth. She appears to take her 'title' to heart and speaks 'down' on others.
