My experience with this district left me with serious concerns about student safety, accountability, and transparency. As a child, concerns were raised about a school employee who had access to students. My family reported those concerns and submitted a written request regarding this employee, but we did not feel that our concerns were taken seriously.

Years later, after learning that numerous former students from multiple states had come forward with similar allegations involving the same individual, I began seeking answers about how complaints were handled. I submitted public records requests asking for investigative records, disciplinary records, and internal communications related to this employee.

The district informed me that no such records existed. I was also told that the district's email servers had been decommissioned in 2021. When I requested documentation regarding the decommissioning and destruction of those records, I was informed that no certificates of destruction, retention logs, vendor records, chain-of-custody documentation, or similar records could be located. As someone seeking answers, I found this extremely troubling. The absence of records made it impossible to determine how concerns were addressed, what discussions may have taken place, or whether proper procedures were followed.

Parents trust schools to protect children and to maintain transparency when concerns are raised. When records that could help explain past decisions are unavailable, it undermines public confidence and makes accountability difficult.

My hope is that future families never have to spend years searching for answers only to be told that the records no longer exist. Every child deserves a safe learning environment, and every parent deserves confidence that concerns will be taken seriously and preserved appropriately.

LDE went above and beyond my expectations. Mrs Bassham, one of the kinder teachers is the most kind, caring and compassionate teachers I have ever met. The specials teachers like Coach V are absolutely incredible. They take the time to really learn about their students. Mrs Russo and Mr Hyde are amazing with their reading groups and made it so much fun for my daughter. The front office is responsive and kind every time you speak with them. Principal Blevins has been an absolute treasure. She is approachable, kind, caring and does not tolerate bullies. I cannot thank them for the kindness they’ve shown and the love of school they have instilled in my daughter.

After having been at a different elementary nearby and having difficulty there, we chose this school last year specifically due to the principal, and her strong leadership and genuine compassion towards my kids. I have a special ed student and a 504 student and she deeply understood their needs and my concerns and guided us in this transition. You can often find her at the drop off line to bring students into the school. The teachers send us a monthly newsletter to keep us updated about what’s to come and any expectations. They also are very responsive to emails which is such a sigh of relief at times. The PTA is very active this year with many things planned and I personally enjoy how the meetings are open to anyone as well as how they are planned with a school event or leadership program. They are also a Leader in Me school that teaches the 7 habits of happy kids which is great for the kids at school and in daily life skills. The school counselor is very open and hands on with these skills. The nurse is so incredibly sweet and caring and makes sure my son gets his inhaler every day before PE and was able to calm my child down when he was having a bout of anxiety. Lastly, we really appreciate the diversity in the school in both the students and the teachers. I think it speaks to how diverse the community is and it is wonderful to see.

We are on our 3rd year at Lake Dallas Elementary, and I have been incredibly happy with it. The teachers are great about keeping parents in the loop with what's going on. The principal is top notch. We have dealt with other schools in the area, and they don't compare. The principal at Lake Dallas Elementary is VERY engaged with both the parents and students. Any issue that I have brought to her attention, she has immediately acknowledged it and found a solution. The school is very open, allowing parents to be involved in activities as well as their education. Something a lot of schools don't allow anymore. They have great safety protocols, I feel like my child is safe when I drop her off. I don't have to worry about random people being in the building. They have a strict policy with visitors. I love that I could email the principal right now with a question or concern, and she would get back to me tonight or in the morning. I don't have to leave a message and wait a week like other schools. The same goes for the mass majority of the staff and teachers. The staff all seem to really love the kids. It's a positive and fun environment.

The teachers are kind, and genuinely care about their students. We have loved our experience at Lake Dallas Elementary. The programs and opportunities set up in place for the kids speaks volumes about how much the teachers and staff care about the well-rounded education experience for the students. We love that there is a wide array of social classes and ethnicities to teach our children unity and that people come from different backgrounds! The school building itself is light, bright, and happy. We love our Falcon community!

Great school, moved here 3 years ago and my son started in kindergarten and was reading by the time he entered first grade. They have him in the Excel program to advance and learn at a faster pace. My daughter is now in 5th grade and reading at an 8th grade level. I only wish I would have moved earlier and had her start at this school.

Great School, i've had the kids here three years since moving to lake Dallas and its been great. Coming from Dallas ISD this is 10X a difference. My son put in kindergarten and was reading before he went to first grade, they have an Excel program that he is in now that helps him advance and learn at a faster pace. They have really helped my daughter as well, she's going to 5th grade now and is reading at an 8th grade level. I only wish I would have moved earlier and had my daughter start at this school as my son did.

Lake Dallas Elem. is a fabulous school. The teachers were able to get into the school barely a week before school (due to the construction of the building) and you would never have known it-- the school and classrooms were put together beautifully and my children were welcomed with open arms. Both my children attend this school and we have nothing but fantastic things to say. Both of my children's teachers keep in touch with me and keep me up on all school and classroom activities. I am thankful my kids get to be part of a district with so much pride. (The TAKs scores were not released before the end of the year because the school didn't get them before then!! The school was anxiously awaiting the resluts as well.
