I have ADHD and although my acomadations have been implemented (mostly) they dont do a great job about always following it. The teachers also do not give a damn about bullying and students mental health

My own personal experience with LVMS has been very positive. My child is a 6th grader there and this year she has been thriving academically (more so than in elementary school), and she has been doing so well that she got invited to join NJHS this year.
I love the involvement of the newer administration. Mr. Morris has really turned the moral around for LVMS, a lot of the comments on this page are about the previous administration, which I did hear was not great. However, my experience with Mr. Morris and his administration has been wonderful. Very attentive and responds quickly to questions and/or issues that have come up. Along with the teachers and counselors as well, everyone has been wonderful to work with this year.
Lakeview is a small school, but from my perspective, this has been a better experience for us. The students get more 1:1 time with teachers to further their education, teachers get to know the personalities and learning styles of students as well.
I would definitely recommend LVMS as your middle school choice in The Colony.

This school is really good with safety. The teachers are wonderful and the students are kind. The principal is nice and teachers are good at teaching. I would go to this school and make my kids go to this school. (Just glazing)

The principal Mrs. Diester is extremely rude and unprofessional. We had a great experience at Ethridge elementary but have not been impressed at all with Lakeview. The principal does not listen to her students or parents and is rude when you address issues and concerns. I am currently looking into withdrawing my student from Lakeview.

The principal Mrs. Diester is rude and unprofessional. There is no support for students at this school. I have loved lisd until we got to lakeview. When you try to address concerns there is no one to help or support.

Lakeview leaves a lot to be desired. My son goes here and we have had nothing but issues. He gets picked on and I have brought it up to the school administration, and I was told they "would look into it" but nothing was ever done. My son has told me that people pick on him DAILY and in front of teachers, they have done NOTHING. This is not an isolated incident. I had a family member who also went here a few years ago and they also had an issue with bullying and nothing was done. They had to completely move schools to get the situation taken care of. This school is also lacking in extracurricular activities. They don't do things like dances or field trips, which every other school in the area does. These kids are missing out on a big part of middle school experiences because of this. They also are lacking in support of the student. The only positive part of the school is the Resource Officer JD Simmons. He was AMAZING with the kids and you could tell he cared. But the school administration would drop the ball on follow through. My child was threatened with s*xual violence from another student and I WAS NEVER CONTACTED. My child had to tell me himself. And nothing was done with the other student. When I called the school they stated that the other student claimed "it never happened" so the claim was unsubstantiated and nothing to could be done. Well, of course the kid would not admit to that. This school is terrible and LISD needs to do an overhaul on it.

Not only did I not feel safe with all the fights and kids bringing weapons like small knifes to school or walking into the bathroom to see girls piercing their own noses during lunch, I also didn't learn anything but was taught to memorize answers than to be able to understand the concept. The teachers are lazy and are unhelpful when it comes to actually teaching, while there are some amazing teachers, they don't stay very long due to administration. The principal has not helped this school one bit since I even attended. I visit this school weekly to mentor troubled kids and not only has it not improved it has declined more than ever. I have younger brothers who are about to be in middle school and I am doing all that I can to make sure that they go to a school that will benefit them and not set them back like Lakeview did and continues to do for many.

This school gives me nightmares because there are constant fights , stabbings, book burnings, and horrible teachers who dont teach or keep students in line.

The teachers are awful. There is only 1 I dont completly despise, and thats because he knows how to do his job as a science teacher. Every other teacher has no idea how to handle a situation. They think by taking a student out of the room or just giving them detention of DAEP or pass or ISS the problem is solved. Wrong! They dont do anything to personally handle the problem.

They let the students walk all over them. And they think the solution to that is just getting upset and mad over every student in the school. If you dont have an A, B grade average every 9 weeks, then you will get yelled at at least once by a leader.

Do well with kids with special needs, but puts them with kids in regular class when its PE time, so the regular kids just make fun of the special needs kids and its terrible! Coaches dont fix that either!

This is laughably wrong. They dont do anything. There have been multiple fight in my time here. Which was only 1 year. I have heard of about 12 fights here. Neither one of those students gets majorly punished, just ISS for like a day and they are free to the same school. Same place. Same people.

I would rate my experience a 2/10. Bullying is never handled properly and is seen daily. The lunch food is nowhere near healthy. All teachers overreact to any situation. The passive-aggressiveness in teachers voices is unbelievable. This is a terrible school! Students always fight, you never feel safe here. There are always jokes being made here about school shooting from students. Kids being drugs to school. I know 6 people that brought drugs to school, and got punished for it. They are still gonna be in school though! And those 6 kids with drugs at school, all of that was in the last 4 months! Unbelievable place. Bad middle school to bring your kids.
