I would not recommend Arbor Creek Middle School. While there are a handful of excellent teachers, unfortunately many of the strongest educators do not stay, resulting in a high turnover rate. The principal does not prioritize academics and seems unaware of what is happening in many classrooms. In my experience, parent concerns are ignored and issues go unresolved.
Coming from such an outstanding elementary school in Lewisville ISD, this has been a very disappointing experience. I had much higher expectations and have been saddened by the lack of leadership and focus on student academic success. I hope the school district takes meaningful steps to improve campus administration accountability, retain quality teachers, and better support its students and families.

I really love this school BUT I just have 1 thing to addres.
I love the Orquestra teacher and she is great at teaching, I learned a lot from her and without her, I wouldnt be in Chamber Orquestra.
I just wish the Orquestra program at the school could get funded a little more. We need a bigger room because I feel that everyone is cramped in the tiny room they gave us. I am feeling that the district thinks that Orquestra is just a little side elective with little instruments and that we dont need more room, WE DO and I just wish they could fix that. Thanks

Middle school is often framed as a period of growth, but for me, it was a gauntlet of systemic failure and targeted cruelty. The environment was defined by a complete lack of accountability, starting when my clothes were stolen from my gym locker; despite involving the School Resource Officer, the theft was ignored, and my property was never seen again. The harassment took a darker, more discriminatory turn when "holy water" was poured on my head to mock my religious beliefs, yet the administrations only response was a hollow "stay away" order that provided no actual protection. I spent my days enduring the humiliation of being barked at in the halls and the constant anxiety of being followed into bathrooms, all while the school watched and did nothing. Most isolating of all was when staff told me to stop telling my mother about the abuse because her relentless demands for accountability were making them uncomfortable, proving that the school was more interested in silencing my advocate than stopping the people who were hurting me.

PTA is great and try to involve families. Fine Arts program is good. Parent concerns however are often ignored and not taken seriously. The way the principal talks to students and parents is not acceptable.

This school actually sucks, there are attention seeking kids who bully you and make fun of you, they dont make anything entertaining and the food, dont even get me started. This year they removed all devices and games. Now that might sound good but, it is the only source of entertainment in the school, and the teachers dont make it entertaining at all, only the electives. How do you expect your children to have fun, or actually enjoy learning? Thats why this generation hates learning, this is the reason. I would never recommend this school, unless you want your child to develop a habit of hating learning.

If your child is struggling, they may or may not get help here depending on who the teacher is and what grade level they are in. There is no consistency. Leadership here is poor. Delays and poor response to problems. More diversity in school leadership and staff.

This school has become blind when I got bullied and needed help. They did nothing at all except favor specific students who were smart or were in all honors or whatever. Most of the teachers I encountered were very unwelcoming and mean. But do not get me wrong, the staff were extremely sweet and amazing. Some of kids there have become ruthless, and no one is doing anything about it. Im extremely glad Im homeschooled now instead of being there. I dont recommend this place, trust me. Worst school experience, ever.

As the previous review states, systemic racism. Trying to address it and no response. GT/Leap/Honors are not even at basic levels compared to surrounding districts.
White parents and students are tended to as human beings and other are left to be ignored and gaslighted. Check out students throughout LISD that report it on social media, including alumni that are white and have observes the inequities and mistreatment.
Academics are weak and the district continues to lower the bar.
If you want your child to succeed in a safe, learning environment, this is not an option.
Admin functions to collect a check without doing any work.
Student body is earnest and seems to be better fit to lead than the adults.

Deep rooted systemic racism in sports. Girls that have played club all their life have a difficult time making the sports teams. All sports are mainly caucasian girls with a handful of African American, hispanic, Asian, etc.
The school is not equipped with exceptional math educators that can instruct higher level of mathematics an external tutor is required if students want to pass their math classes understanding the material/information.

They have many different programs for all people no matter how want to learn. Even then, all you have to do is ask and the teachers will make sure you are helped and guided to the best of their abilities.
Posted: October 23, 2020
They have many options in place to take care of bullying like an anonymous call center and do try very hard to take care of it. Of course, it being a middle school, there still is some and it can get out of hand at times.

Its been amazing, the staff is extremely hard working and care a lot about what they do. I just hope the arts can get a little bit more of a fund because they are exceptional here. I would definitely recommend going here to anyone in the area.

All the staff is very hard working and it really helps the students in general. The teachers there dont just teach the students they connect and form a bond with them.

I'm disappointed in this school. They don't adjust the teaching style to various levels of learning and they make it hard to stay on top of the status of the assignments. It's been a frustrating year thus far.
Posted: November 18, 2019
No consistency in where to find homework assignments
Posted: November 18, 2019
Teacher's don't adjust to the level of learning and require students to follow-up with them over and over if they need to make up work.

Leadership doesn't enforce the "grade within the week" policy. It's pushed on the parents to follow-up
Posted: November 18, 2019
My son continues to struggle with their some of the teacher's teaching methods. I hired a tutor outside of the school which said he's competent but not organized. Between Canvas, Skyward and some printed assignment, it's even hard for me (who is very organized) to keep up with all the assignments. The teachers typically take over a week to grade and I was told by the assistant principal that it's the parent and child responsibility to continue follow-up on when assignment will be graded.

This school did a great job with providing an after school program with tutors. They really cared about helping students that required more attention. The only problem I had was the teachers that were not willing to help their students after school and sometimes provided too much homework for kids that were only in 6th grade.

Teachers are quite blind to the fact that homework stacks. Homework here is really a negotiator here. Teachers will threaten slight misbehavior with homework and assignments instead of a warning.

The principal is engaged with all aspects of learning at this school, from the classroom to parent involvement, she is striving to make the middle school experience the best it can possibly be for each child. Where there have been issues with staff, she immediately addressed them when appropriate. Not all teachers have been "perfect" but that is true of any school - what we have found is that the teachers and staff are committed and do encourage high performance from the kiddos (sometimes almost too much). For a middle school there is a nice variety of course offerings, including Pre AP and early High School credit, and the extra curricular options are great (everything from archery to soccer) and also very successful in what they help the kids accomplish. We were nicely surprised at the strong parent involvement here which is not always the case in middle school. The student body is very diverse and that is a plus for us as it engages our children in a real world learning environment. The building is older and could use a few "touch ups" but besides that we found this to be an incredible experience (which is not an easy thing to say about the middle school years!)
