My child went here for a year during The pandemic. He loved all the assistance he received with at home schooling. He was able to move onto the Collegiate Academy after the foundation he received here.

AP courses. You will need to have someone at home with strong math background. Teachers are so use to students being smart and teaching themselves
Teachers have little knowledge for AP math track
Would rather try to get your child to drop instead of helping

Most teachers are ok. A few are excellent
Many are horrible. Don’t know their subject content
Act as if they are in middle school themselves
Belittle and encourage school
Bullying
Unreal !!!

Principal retired .never handled anything
Leaving the same administration that was under him to now lead
I wouldn’t enroll my dog at this school

Can say your child needs to be very smart or have another teacher at home to help

Time after time my child dealt with racism and administration would tell her silly things like
‘He has a crush on you’

We transferred our other children to another lisd Middle school

I am a student soon to be former student at this school. I would like to say if you have an lgbtqia+ child, this school will be a struggle for them. I went here all three years and there is zero support for my community, I was gay bashed on minor accounts. I know I’m not the only one who is uncomfortable here. If you love your children this needs to change.

The counselors have programming to help identify what bullying looks like and what to do if you are the recipient of bullying. It's hard to stop bullying, but this school is using education and a zero-tolerance policy with discipline to help be a part of the solution.

This school has an exceptional SpEd team to assist learners with different needs. Gifted and Talented students are well serviced here.

The 6th grade Advisory has a character ed program in place. The counselors work hard to have programming, too, that works on this.

The teachers at Briarhill are topnotch. They love what they do, and it shows.

Different subjects and grades do HW differently; however, the overall sentiment is that these students are still kids and shouldn't have more than 20 minutes of HW per core class.

Great school! Great, caring teachers! Admin and office staff are caring and kind. Perfect place to allow your student to thrive and learn. One of the best in Denton County.

LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS SCHOOL!!! It's THE BEST!!! AWESOME TEACHERS!! My child wanted to go to school everyday and only had one absence the entire year!! He learned so much this year and really enjoyed it!! Mr. Mattingly is an amazing principal!! And shout out to my child's favorite teacher Mrs. Raunam!! However they were all awesome!! My friends from other middle schools in the area were very envious of our PTA program and parent involved activities! This school is a positive, loving, caring and safe environment! (Which to me is the most important aspect) academically: test scores speak for themselves!! Above average!! Thank you Briarhill!!

BMS is awesome!! We had a fabulous year with amazing teachers, amazing principals, amazing counselors, amazing coaches and A VERY AMAZING PTA PROGRAM WITH LOTS OF PARENT PARTICIPATION!!! We moved to this area about 4 years ago from a different Marcus feeder middle school because that school was awful!! I'm SO GLAD WE MADE THE RIGHT DECISION!! There's a program called FOR that encourages positive treatment of fellow students and no bullying! It was a great success! The students are sweet and gracious!! Thank you Briarhill staff for being awesome!!!

Briarhill Middle School is overcrowded. The staff has become jaded and teaching limits imposed by state seem to determine every decision. Many parents have had enough. Our child is very smart but battles some adhd and get very limited real support in BMS. People are all wired different. Educators need to teach not hide behind poor policy. We need to take Big brother out of LISD & Texas education. No child left behind, is a failure. Fix the broken system now. Our kids deserve better. Thank you,

every teacher is awsome and go above and beyond but i hope im leaving the school because the other students are mean and never think about anyone else but other than that briarhill is good and a safe school with staff that really do care.

Briar Hill is a fantastic school! My son absolutely loves it here. He is doing well in 6th grade...thanks to the teachers!

I love this school. They have gone above and beyond for my child. Teachers and Counselors care and are willing to take the time. Mrs. S. Smith rocks it!
