My daughter attended this middle school and I can say the Management and the leadership at this institution is top notch! Mrs. Kelly Knight is hands down one of the greatest examples of how a school should be run. As the country and politics is dividing the nation, this schools leadership still adheres to the fabric of what America stands for. This school promotes all inclusivity and is absolutely there for everyone regardless of your Gender, cultural or religious background. This is only possible because it has to come from the top and that top of the leadership is unparallel. From our dear friend Mrs. Susan Eyer to Ms. Shannon Nault, we will miss everyone as our daughter moves on to Highschool. These people absolutely sacrifice so much of their lives day in and day out so your child can have a better education, so your child can have a safe time in school, so your child can have a quality life later on. These people are always there for you and your child. So, appreciate them. Institutions like these are getting harder and harder to find.

The campus is good. The community is good. The only problem is that students in GT (for example, me) do not get to choose GT subjects for math and history. This means we are not challenged in two important subjects. Both science and ELA are perfect, but when it comes to being mixed in with normal students the teachers have to teach at a slower pace, so we learn less.

Still, the teachers are AMAZING.

I have had 3 children enrolled at McKamy Middle School, one enrolled in Special Education. They have all had wonderful experiences, have been pushed to excel and have risen to the challenges presented to them. Academically, this school exceeds beyond other middle schools in the area. Sports, this school wins. Fine Arts, this school is Is hard to beat. LISD is a great school district, and McKamy is one of the best schools within the district. The principal is phenomenal, and has such a big heart. The teachers care how the students perform. Overall, the leadership is top notch, and the kids feel it. Many, including me, consider this school the best of the best!

Fabulous caring teachers who prepare the students for HS. Mrs. Walder for pre ap science goes the extra mile for her students. Yes she assigns homework but my son said he was grateful he had her in 7th grade!

My son goes to Mckamy MS and loves the friendly and educational environment there.Many after school activities to keep the kids engaged.Children are well behaved and we have had no issues with the teachers either.The principal keeps us updated on all upcoming events and classes.
