This is my first year at Shepton High School, and I've never been more disappointed. In the first month, 2 students got beaten up so badly that they got sent to the E.R. with concussions. The power has gone out twice, and we went on lockdown due to a school threat in December 2025. In my math class, the A/C system broke, and the temperature in the room always reached 88 degrees. We still had to work, and they did absolutely nothing. Very few of the teachers actually care about the students; the rest have lost all hope in their students, which is why our math and reading proficiency is so low. on the first week back from winter break, the sewer system literally broke and is currently leaking reeking up half of this school, If you are thinking of bringing your child here don't.

Giving Shepton High School even one star feels generous. This institution seems to coast entirely on its reputation from years ago, and the current reality is disappointing. The administration is far too focused on strict, arbitrary ruleslike outdated dress codes and parking restrictionswhile ignoring actual issues related to student engagement and mental health.
The facilities are showing serious age; the classrooms are cramped, the technology is often slow, and the air conditioning seems to be perpetually broken in the spring. While a few teachers are truly passionate, the general atmosphere is one of burnout and apathy. If your student is looking for diverse, challenging courses or genuinely supportive college counseling, you'll likely have to seek those resources elsewhere. It feels less like a place of growth and more like a glorified holding pen.

Shepton High School is a total disgrace, clearly Plano ISD's most abhorrent mistake. My son, transferring from Allen's prestigious system in his freshman year, instantly suffered. He plummeted from being top-tier to totally incompetent here, a despicable, failing campus I refuse to even honor with the title "school." A catastrophic sewage burst filled the halls, reeking of raw waste and black-green mold; a sickening poison. My child returned home immediately after, violently ill, vomiting relentlessly. He was a freshman, stuck in basic biology with zero actual teachers, only ineffective substitute workers whose garbled speech no student could possibly follow. My son was an excellent A-student at Allen, excelling in all advanced courses, yet now he is downgraded to the lowest course load possible because the inadequate instructors cannot properly deliver any topic. He tried geometry honors but failed his first exam with a pitiful 47; only a forced curve to 67 saved him. The abysmal, failed policies on mobile phones prove the school's total mismanagement.

This school is awful, the teachers dont care and those that do are waiting to retire as fast as they can. Bathrooms are always in a state not working and sewage is everywhere. The school never seems to give a dang about it either. It has gone through principals like most people go through toilet paper. This place is a jungle, kids are always endangered because of the element of kids that are just bad/evil. No respect to anyone student or teacher. Honestly, it is a miracle it hasnt had a school shooting. Recently a student beat up a teacher because they didnt get their way. The teacher had to quit to file a lawsuit. The school did absolutely NOTHING to the kid who beat up the teacher. If you have to send your kid here think again. It is THE worst school in PISD period.

i am a student here, they treat all of the kids like dirt and do not even have functioning bathrooms. There has been so many issues with the facility and with basically everything a decent level 2 school even has that Shepton does not. For example, in the beginning of the school year, it was the second week of school. The power went out entirely, but then it came back on. Then it went off again, no concern about students safety, or needs by the way, and they postponed letting students leave. Then it went out a third time, and it stayed that way. After that they finally decided to start sending kids home 90 something degree weather by the way.... Everyone was sweating and needing to use the restroom but they waited last minute to let the suffering people in school go home. Also, not too long ago, the bathrooms were not available and they decided to keep everyone in their second period and of course... you guessed it!!! Waited last minute and made everything 10x more complicated then things had to be. Anyway, that is Shepton Highschool.

This school is horrible, my child has come home telling me about horrible sewage issues and fights that cause people to have major injuries, and on top of this madness the school has kept them when they should have released them due to poor safety issues on days. For example, the power went out on an extremely hot day and the kids were forced to stay until it finally happened the fourth time. This school is horrendous and needs to make many changes. Things MUST be done.

Horrible school! Kids are kept in school like cages and don't have free will to have there phone and have bathrooms breaks much. Assistance principle is always getting into kids business and made my daughter feel uncomfortable. They seem to care more on the students that get in trouble and put a whole lot of pressure on them, this isn't a healthy way in communicating with students by calling them a lier and just pointing what they have done instead they should really be working on how to properly communicate with them instead of hurting there feeling and breaking down there spirit.

Academics, athletics, fine arts and extracurriculars are top notch. This school is underrated because people compare it to Jasper. If you compare it to other districts then you realize, how amazing it is.

We are very happy with their performance. Our child is getting challenged but not overwhelmed.

I think Shepton HS is really good in almost everything. It has great teachers.... I am Persian and my English was not very good, but after being in ESL program for only 1 semester, now I'm moving to Regular Education and probably next year I can be in honors. This school helps you get better , but IF you WANT and IF you ASK them to do that for you.
